Spent a week in Carlsbad and had the opportunity to play multiple rounds at Aviara. I must say, other than pebble beach this is the most scenic course I've ever played. Course was in perfect condition and the staff is by far the best around. Challenging but fair if you keep it in the fairway. Large greens can leave you some pretty tricky putts if your not close. Can be expensive so look for a package deal or get out in the afternoon at half the price! Enjoy!

Played Aviara last Friday. What a great course. The best customer service I have ever had the pleasure of receiving on a golf course. From the minute I arrived till the second I left everyone made me feel welcome and went out of their way to accomodate me in any way imaginable. The hand towels and cookies at the end of the round was a great touch.

Just played 4 rounds in 4 days as part of hotel package where you pay for room and 2 rounds golf per day is free. Still pricey but nice golf vacation especially if spouse golfs. Course was just re-rat... Continue »

Just played 4 rounds in 4 days as part of hotel package where you pay for room and 2 rounds golf per day is free. Still pricey but nice golf vacation especially if spouse golfs. Course was just re-rated so whites are 133 slope and blues are 147. Course is tough but fun requiring accurate tee shots because rough is extremely hilly. Service is great, course very scenic. Twilight rate makes it more affordable.

Played at 1.17pm for a twilight rate of $110. Sorry to say, this course is not worth its normal rate of $195. Course conditions were ok. Greens a little bumpy because they had many footprints due to the damp conditions. Fairways were ok but a little patchy in spots. The plus side of this course is the layout and the variety of the holes. Its can be seen that the workers keep a very good effort in maintaining the flora and fauna around the course and I think it really makes the course bright and fresh. 3 of the 4 par 3s have water in play and the 18th is a great finishing par 4. Most of the holes have views of the housing estate around. The service from the pro shop and the starter was very professional. I will only play here for its twilight rate because at $195, I think it is better to play La Costa Resort which is located 5 min away.

Perhaps my faorite course.Each hole had its own personality especially the back nine.Pretty views also. Highly recommend. Look for the package deals also.
