Played this afternoon on a special for aeration. Greens done last week but after 1 week they played really well. Have not played here for many years. A really beautiful layout IMO. Course is in great condition. Tee boxes just fine. Fairways clean and giving nice roll out and great lies. Traps very playable. Greens aerated last week with small punch holes. This was the first time I played on greens this good after 1 week after aeration. Carts are like little luxury cars. So comfortable. Great customer service from every employee. Recommended.

Played Sun 9/10, 8am shotgun, 4:30 round. Course in fabulous shape. It's been a long time since I've played this course and it's been almost perfect. Something was always wrong, horribly.. but not this time. This has always been a top track for me in SoCal, and this round only solidified my thought. 18 interesting holes, tons of character. It was a muggy morning, with 30 min of sprinkles. Reminded me of Hawaii weather. Got really hot the last hour. Greens huge... a little bumpy if you don't fix the marks, but running a fast 10 and true. I will play this course anytime, as it is my favorite.

First and tenth fairways have been aerated and sanded. Greens are in very good shape. Most of the bunkers are in good shape. Pace of play was decent for a busy Saturday (4.15).

Played Aviara today with a 7am tee time. I love the layout of this tough scenic course. The course has everything you want from a great track. Elevation changes, water hazards (and awesome water features) unique hole designs, generous fairways yet severe penalty if you spray it too wide and one of the best clubhouses around. Add in the best staff in the business and you have a winning formula.

Greens are huge at Aviara with numerous undulations so you can easily three putt if not close. Greens rolled smooth and if I had a complaint, I’d say they were inconsistent speed wise with some rolling slower (medium pace) than others (medium fast +).

Fairways were lush and presented and excellent hitting surface. There was a lot of light brown color to the fairways throughout the course but they still offered a great hitting surface.

I was only in one bunker and hit had excellent fluffy sand. Most tee boxes have all recently been redone so they were all level with ample coverage.

Carts seem new as they had plush seats and GPS. Range was on mats in

Looks like the turf replacement went well and there were no bare spots anywhere on the course. The greens were nice and putted great, tee boxes were pristine as were the fairways and the rough was consistent. Bunkers were also in great shape with plenty of sand.

Played March 4: Fairways and tee boxes are beat up, the greens are slow, the pace of play was good, the sand traps are in good shape, and there are some flowers blooming.

1st time out at Aviara. I'm semi local and have always to play there, but finally got around to it. Let me just say what a wonderful experience golfing! The course was everything I had hoped it would be and more! Tea boxes and fairways we're just about perfect and the greens were large, undulating and perfect speed. The customer service and on course staff are second to none in exactly what you would expect for such a high Green fee. You are here for luxury and it doesn't disappoint. All of the construction of the past 6 months appears to have been completed and all holes were open. A large locker room and bathroom area provide lots of extra amenities for your pre and post round care. The golf shop seemed a little small and cramped considering it's such a luxurious course, but they had everything you could need. The putting and chipping area were perfect, and the included all you can eat grass range balls was a great warm up area before you're around. Each hole has its own unique identity with some spectacular looking par threes! There really isn't much in the way of views like Torrey pines would give you, but you do get a few nice views of the San Diego valley, the lagoon, and plenty of waterfalls, lakes, and creeks. Truly a wonderful experience from the moment that you leave your car in the parking lot till when you load up and go home! Dare I say almost worth the exorbitant green fees! ... Almost...

Holes 10 and 17 (both of the par 5's on the back) are closed for maintenance. Once that work is completed (probably 7-10 days), the course should be back to 18 holes. From what I can tell, there are very few (if any) material changes to the course layout--no new tee boxes, no new bunkers, no new greens, etc. Some trees and brush were removed, bunkers got new sand and drainage, etc. Other than the ongoing maintenance, the course is in decent shape.
