Played in a tourney 5/20. Course is in EXCELLENT CONDITION! This track is one of my favorites! The greens are so pure & true! I have NOTHING BAD to say about this course. Get out to Jamul & tee it up if you like good, challenging golf.

Played 7 years ago and finally returned. Overall I like the course and would consider returning. It is a good test of golf and the maintenance seemed good for late Feb. Some negatives - at a price of $94 for 18, I would expect to have cart GPS and a front windshield. Neither was a part of the fee. Plus, the course opened late and we were pushed to make our 2nd round tee-time at another course.

Played 2/23 with discount from Red Dot. Courses were Ranch and Meadow and loved Ranch while Meadow is average due to homes on course. Greens were fast on Ranch even after getting punched 10 days prior. Due to high greens fee, traffic is slight making for an enjoyable experience. Tee boxes had very little damage but sand in traps is inconsistent. If you have the cash, a nice place to play.

Was in San Diego for vacation and wanted to give this course a try for some time due to it's always high ratings. I was not disappointed. This course is on great shape and the greens are the best I have played! Fast, firm, receptive, fair. Only improvement Steele Canyon can make is to add GPS to it's carts.

Nice place to play, great views, most fairway are very "Fair" you can use your driver on many holes. Loved it for the mid-week price. It is one of the top places to pay in san Diego.

Played this course for the first time 8/6/2006. Golf course has 27 holes in total, played the Meadow and Canyon side. Both sides were up kept nicely from fairways, bunkers (players please rake them), and tee boxes for this time of year. Greens were smooth, fast, and firm some random pitch marks from other players, but if you have a tool in your hand no prob. Some greens look like they where healing on the Canyon side but ball still rolled without any hiccups. Controlling trajectory was a must as winds picked up. Distance control is crucial as there is some forced carries. Blind tee shots are not rare - so aim for the middle, hit, and search. If you are a high hdcp bring a lot of balls if you go astray you will be forced to take a drop. But the big thing at this course is the views mainly on the Canyon side in the last finishing holes. They used the natural terrain to it's fullest potential. Pace of play was 4 1/2 pretty good for the weekend. Paid a pretty good price for a course of this caliber $52 weekend twilight with cart. Don't know if it's worth the full $134 on the weekend. But SD locals get a discount. Overall if you can afford it this course is challenging, fun, and pleasing to the eye (from a view perspective, not from "this hole is cake perspective") So if you have a chance to check it out for a good price you won't be disappointed.

The Club at Steele Canyon held an event for military personel last year. I was selected to go by my unit to participate. im from augusta georgia but stationed in oceanside california. I grew up around golf being that augusta is a golf city. Steele Canyon was a beautiful and challenging course. The practice green and driving range was in great shape as well. The members there made us feel very welcome and were friendly throughout the whole event. I would recomend this course to anyone.
