Played on Friday the 29th of July. Course in very good shape. The changes on the front nine are great. Played the front twice as I was by myself and I was waiting on the group ahead of me on every hole. Had a great time.

Played around 10a this morning. This course is just a fun and challenging course to play. I think the slope ratings are too low; the greens here are so tough to read! Service was great today; thx to the starter who accommodated us even though we were a little late for our tee time. The chipping areas still are being punched. The greens were rolling pretty good too. The fairways were a little shaggier than normal though, and some of the tee box areas need a little work. We finished as a 3some in about 4:40 - this course just plays slow because of the course design.

The course is officially open for 18 holes. The staff has done a great job getting the course back in full operation. If you are looking for a fun course, this is it. And incredibly affordable too!... Continue »

Fairways are so lush they're like giant, green shag carpets. I LOVE the new look of #4, which is much, much more interesting now. The new greens do seem a bit slower, but in fact it seemed to me that all the greens today were slower than I remember Rustic being. It seems there's more contour in the 7th fairway now, too. The entire course is in really great shape right now. A little soggy this morning as they were watering aprons intensively to stay out front of the heat. Rustic is BACK, big-time.

Teed off about 12p today. Terrific day at Rustic today. The course is in B+ condition; fairways and rough are ok, but the greens were a little inconsistent in terms of their speed. The chipping areas were inconsistent as well; some were tight, and others were soggy and a little swampy. No matter; this still is a terrific course and a solid, interesting layout. Took nearly 5 hours to play though - I'm not sure that's going to change anytime soon with the way the course is laid out.

Played all 18 on July 2nd for the 1st time since 2004. As expected the course was in pretty good shape. I think the new greens are a little slower and surprisingly a little softer than the originals. The new look 4th with the cross fairway bunker is a good look. New tees on the 5th make the hole play a little more straightforward. The new 7th seems to have more room long and left in the fairway. The new bunker gives a nice look to the hole, but beware, it's deep and soft as my playing partner found out. I don't think the 8th hole has changed any, but it feels different. It may just be the new bunkering around it. New tees on the 9th again make the hole play much straighter. Pace of play was about average, 4 1/2 hours. I know it's been a long time coming, but overall I think they've done a great job and made a really good course even better. Hopefully Mother Nature will give them a break for a few years or longer.

Only a week until its eighteen holes again! Course is playing great. Greens are almost back to normal from what looked like a small aeration done on them a few weeks ago. I little bit bumpy in places ... Continue »

Only a week until its eighteen holes again! Course is playing great. Greens are almost back to normal from what looked like a small aeration done on them a few weeks ago. I little bit bumpy in places but mostly true. Fairways looked great and good sand in the bunkers. My only complaint was the sparse and thin rough. Lots of bare spots just off the fairway. What a great course. Hope they don’t raise the green fees above what they used to be before the floods. Will be back to play the new holes!
