Very nice course. Links style that there isn't any trees to contend with. There are a lot of "environmental" areas that always come into play. Greens were fast and small, but fringe was as tight as the green so putting vs. chipping in key. Overall for the price it's a great course. I'll be back and try to stay in the fairways next time.

Played Saturday July 10, at 10am, finished at 3 pm. A 5 hour round is not my idea of fun when i can go over to moorpark country club or tierra rejada and play a better course in 3.5 hours. Course was in pretty good shape, fairways were a bit soggy in places and greens were burnt out in many areas on many holes, they need to stop cutting them so short. Some of the holes are also a joke where it is cart path only, because there are no yardage markers in the fairways, and the yardage from the cart path isnt anywhere near the right yardage from where your ball might be. Overall still a fun course to play, but it would be much better if was in 4 hours.

A little ragged on the front nine, and difficult to figure out exactly where to play the ball. The large shaved areas surrounding all greens makes the course confusing for a first-timer. Things are in... Continue »

A little ragged on the front nine, and difficult to figure out exactly where to play the ball. The large shaved areas surrounding all greens makes the course confusing for a first-timer. Things are in better shape on the back nine. I'm not sure this course is worth the fantastic ratings it seems to get elsewhere. But it is a thoroughly enjoyable experience, a good value, very walkable, especially with the unusual three-wheeled push carts they rent.
Pace on a weekday a midday was a little slow.

It's worth the money. The sand traps could use improvement. Deeper sand instead of hitting the botton about 1 inch.

This course is absolutely beautiful, usually i dont like the links style course but this time i can make the execption. Hole 14 is very tough though. You have to fly about 210 yards over some crap and leave yourself a long 2nd shot. Though the greens were being aerated and the course was pretty tough I liked it a lot.

Played 6/12. Also was unaware of the small hole aeration that was done earlier in the week. Although, I must admit that considering they were done only days before, the greens were in pretty good condition. Fairways were as expected, very good shape. Tee boxes are getting a little worn, but that's mainly on the par 3's. Usually can play there in 4-4 1/2 hours, even on a weekend. Unfortunately, the 740am group didn't believe in keeping up the pace. Called the pro-shop from the 9th tee to advise group in front of us was at least a hole and a half behind. Didn't seem to help. Rustic doesn't really have a true Marshal, but then again, I've never needed one there before. Otherwise, everything was up to their normal standards.
