Their "Summer punch" as begun. All but four greens were punched and sanded yesterday. A real dissapointment. Can't wait for the day that a pro-shop employee tells me that they are punching their greens when I make a tee-time...and not after I've driven an hour to get there.

I course is not as good a shape as it was a month ago. There are much more unfilled divots on the fairway. The price is still good.

Played this moring at 8:00 - finished as a foursome in 4 and 1/4 hours.....course overall is in really good shape. Greens are really tricky.....if a man can putt well at Rustic Canyon....my guess is that he can putt well anywhere. Greens seemed to be a little inconsistent...some where lightning fast and some were much slower. And it wasn't just an "uphill/downhill" thing. 17 and 18 especially. They were too slick. Three of our four shots hit the green on 17 (short par-3 - the pin was up front) and rolled off and down the hill. On 18 any downhill putt could mean rolling all the way off the green....and that green is big enough to have it's own area-code.

A non-golf item: The Turkey Club Sandwich in the clubhouse for $5.95 ROCKS!! A state-of-the-art club sandwich!! Yum!

Terrible rental clubs for $25. Cart paths were terrible. It did not live up to all the rave reviews.

Rustic Canyon is like our British Open. Plays like no other golf course in So Cal. This course makes you over think your short game. Lots of fun. But alas, I lost to 1scgolfer. Had to buy him lunch. It might be fun to come back in late July and play after watching the British Open.

course is in great shape. really fun course to play.needs some marshalls to keep groups moving. never saw one all day. greens are very tough to read.
