I'm glad there are carts for this course...I would need a donkey to huff my clubs on some of the hills if I was walking. I had a good time...I found a coupon ($45 for grn fees/cart). I played with some members...they were friendly and helpful on some of the holes. There are few holes where you have to hit blind shots. Did I mention the views??....very nice on some of the high tees. I think I would prefer Rustic Canyon over T/R. However, I haven't played Moorpark Country Club as well as some of the private courses. Check out golfq.com for that coupon...it was worth the price....I almost forgot..greens were were great.

Played 8 am. Course is in excellent condition. Greens are very good, very few ball marks (for a change), and the rain seems to have had almost no negative impact. No. 11 has a slide, but doesn't impact play. I would highly recommend getting out here before too many people get back here. Watch out for the long rough (>6") past the No. 15 traps. Used to be the best line. No more!

Played a late-afternoon nine at Tierra. Conditions are good, though I found the greens quite slow and rather bumpy (probably just because of the lateness of the hour). The fairways are in excellent condition, and the bunkers, although mostly completely unraked, are in great shape too. It's a fun, sporty course with a lot of elevation changes... I particularly enjoy the odd-numbered holes on the front.

What a pleasant experience. The course is in great shape despite recent weather. The greens, while a tiny bit spotty, roll beautifully. The elevation changes are dramatic and, if you haven't played it before, hard on club selection. I was paired with regulars which mostly eliminated the local knowledge problem, but one trip around the track and you should have a pretty good idea where the danger is and how to play the blind shots. The 17th green is definitely difficult, but with the pin placement back it's just a tough green, not a miniature golf special. To top off the great golf experience, I was dealing with rental car nightmares and could not have received kinder or better service from the pro shop. This course is staffed with great people who understand customer service. It's fairly priced and the twilight rate makes it an extraordinary value.
