Tierra Rejada was one of my favorite courses. Great views, challenging and interesting layout, forced carries, 4-4.5 hr rounds, and lush conditions. But it recently raised prices, got rid of the play 4 get one free deal, and have decided customer service is their last priority. Played 6/19 and at the turn, waited forever at the bar to get service while three servers stood around, walked back and forth & didn't acknowledge us. When I asked, "Can we get some service?", a guy told us that we'll get it when it's our turn in line. There was no one else at the bar. Save your money and play Robinson Ranch, Moorpark, or Sterling Hills instead.

I finally played the course yesterday after living so close to it. This course is very nice but not for the faint at heart. I shoot in 90's fairly consistently now and pleased with my golf progress so I decided to play it as a sorta Father's Day gift to myself. I lost frickin 8 balls on the front 9 and it's very easy to do especially in the afternoons when the wind is fairly strong from the west. You're slowly climbing mountains dealing with doglegs and barrancas to manage. Then on 8 you're hitting from a high elevation down to a fairway that ends at a green sitting on the edge of a mountain. It's beautiful sites to see but after 9 you might feel like going home. The carts have GPS which helps a lot. My friend who is a 10 or 11 handicap even shot a 48 on the front and ended with a score of 87. The back nine is much more manageable and I would have ended up with a score in the 90's if it weren't for all the lost ball penalties. My friend said he thinks they should reverse the front and back 9's. That might be a good idea giving us a chance to build our confidence and groove on the front 9 before tackling that mountain-climbimg golf.

A good layout with 3-4 really bad golf holes...#3, #8, #17. #2 and #3 especially from the tips are not fair golf holes, just try to get by with bogie and move on to the better holes.

Will not allow walking. A decent course, but the grass has never seemed to grow completely in... can be spotty in some fairways. A little $$ for the condition of the course.

played 5/22 the course was in great shape, and we finished in a little over 4 hrs got to love that, looks like the fungus is still growing on the greens though

Played on Tuesday at 4 pm. Course is in good shape except the greens on 12 & 17. Both really bumpy and seem to have fungus or something on them. Got around in 3.5 hr. Good value at $45, but really hat... Continue »

Playing Tierra Rejada is like playing at a private country club. The playing conditions are great and we made it around in 4 hours and not rushing it. We had no pressure either in front or behind us. Also try out the restaurant. The quality is there and the service is friendly. A must play if you have not played it. I am sure the week days are the time to play if you can.

Golf course is in decent shape. Some greens were a little beat up but other than that, the fairways are lush and tee boxes were level. Tierra Rejada is an interesting golf course that rewards accuracy... Continue »

Golf course is in decent shape. Some greens were a little beat up but other than that, the fairways are lush and tee boxes were level. Tierra Rejada is an interesting golf course that rewards accuracy on some holes and distance on other holes. All in all, a good facility that is reasonably priced.

Tierra just seems quite chewed up at the moment. The sixteenth green in particular is awful, but many of the greens on the back especially are very bumpy and appear to have either persistent rain dam... Continue »

Tierra just seems quite chewed up at the moment. The sixteenth green in particular is awful, but many of the greens on the back especially are very bumpy and appear to have either persistent rain damage or maybe some sort of fungal infection. I like this layout okay for the opportunity to hit from some crazy spots on the side of a mountain, but I don't think it's a good value for a $45 mid-week twilight.
