Played here on 6/7/15 8:00 Shotgun start as part of a 2-day Pioneer River Ricks Annual golf tournament. This is a wide open BEAUTIFUL course; with lots of trouble to navigate. Fairways tee to greens were lush, and amazing for summer. Was a little disappointed in condition of the bunkers...a little hard pack with grass/weeds encroaching into some...and there are many bunkers on this course. Greens were excellent, receptive, minimal if any ball marks. Rolled medium speeds, and ran quite true. Tricky pin placements challenged all this day. Divots in fairways were all nicely repaired as well as on tee boxes and greens. Carts equipped with coolers and a GPS (however ours did NOT come on automatically at the course as we were told it would; so we were without guidance other than with our personal equipment. The cart girls (2), in support of this tournament were Exceptional! Nice driving range with pyramids of practice balls...a great practice chipping and bunker area, as well as medium sized putting area. Dependent upon what time of the year/day you decide to tee it up, will dictate amount of bug spray required to fend off the biting nastys. Small clubhouse/Pro shop, but the staff were all very professional, helpful, and welcoming from start to finish. This is a must play for the area...One of my all time favorites....a little work on the bunkers and two thumbs up. Love Love this course.

Wish I could write a review but with the way that our tee time was meesed over we didn't get to play this beautiful course. Sunday the 4th of May at 6:50 was supposed to be our tee time that had been set with the course for 5 weeks. Upon arriving we found out that they had scheduled a shotgun tournament with A&B FLIGHTS at the same time. I know that a tournament that size is goig to get preferance over our group of eight but we had spoken to the course several times in the weeks prior to our outing and were never told about the tournament that we would have been inserted into the middle of. ALL I can say is that yes it is a very nice course, but make sure when making tee times here call at the last minute to see if they are going to jack you around.

Afternoon round here on Saturday 2/15. I originally had booked a twilight time for a better rate, but saw an 11:18 GN hot deal in the morning which had gone down to $59. It worked out for the better. I was unimpressed with the staff here and their sister course Huukan. Mojave staff seemed unorganized and uninterested, but the starter finally got my group going around 11:30. The place was busy, but the pace was fine at 4.5 hours. Apart from some service issues, everything else about Mojave was fantastic. The course was in great overall condition. Fairways a little thin in places, but green and looking nice. Rough was lush. Greens good and rolling smooth at medium speeds. Bunkers had some small pebbles, but the sand consistency was good. I really enjoyed the layout here. Parts of this course (primarily on the front nine) look and play so much like Goose Creek it was weirding me out at times. It's the same design team (Schmidt-Curley), so it makes sense. Then other parts are entirely different with some really intimidating water hazards and fun hole designs. The signature closing stretch of 16-18 is great. For the right price, it's well worth a visit.

Played Mojave at the Avi as part of a two day tournament (2nd day) on 10/27 shotgun start 0800. Quonset Hut style clubhouse with a well stocked Pro Shop. Wonderful Staff from the bag drop off area to check in to snack/bar area personnel. Nice driving range, chipping/bunker practice areas. GPS equipped golf carts with GPS system, onboard cooler and ball washer. This course just opened a week prior to our event, from their overseed. Rough was punishing with mis-hits into their lush conditions which grabbed and hid your ball. Lots of Bunkers which were adequately prepared for easier transition/exit shots. This course is simply gorgeous...NOT very generous with the forward tees. Greens are medium to large with subtle breaks that challenged each putt. Slow to medium speeds (even downhill rolls well hit would come up short just as the course we played the day before). Again, for having approx 114 players pace of play was great, and most fixed divots/ball marks/bunkers. This is a definite course to play while in Laughlin. A lot of water hazards and plenty of bunkers. Ladies bring your A-Game and eat your Wheaties when tackling this course - just from this golfin gals perspective.

10/28/2012 - Played in Pioneer Casino's River Ricks Golf tournament and this was the 2nd of 2 courses we played. Course was in STELLAR/AMAZING/GORGEOUS/LUSH conditions after coming out of heavy reseeding. This course is the most difficult of the two course we play (other being Los Lagos). Again, this was a tourney event and all was set up Extremely well. ONLY gripe -- typical one -- bunkers. We didn't suffer the 20-30mph winds on Sunday, but I'm sure they play a role in the bunkers being rather inconsistent with some having 'a little' more sand than others. The ones I had the displeasure of hitting out of were 'adequate' but typically hard pack; and there are certainly quite a few bunkers to negotiate around/over on this course; as well as bushes/trees. Fairways were Breathtaking. Emerald green; rolled out forever; and wiiiiiiide open for errant shots having a chance to be found (on most). Amazing water challenge holes (goofed and hit my 9 iron vs my intended 6 iron on 17 and ended up drowning a perfectly hit ball-bummed) :( Course eminities are exceptional. GPS carts w/coolers; Ball Washers; Water Coolers; etc. Again, Greens were a tidge difficult for me to adjust to as they were slooow uphill against the grain and quick down. A lot of elevated greens with tricky reads. A different type of grass than I'm use to playing on. Didn't break much. Very Level, no ball damage, and firm - so easy to hit up to/on/off if not played straight into. Quaint Clubhouse; nicely equipped Pro Shop and the Staff are Fantastic! Did I mention the emerald green lush picturesque fairways?? Amazing. Occassional tight lie, but I just loved this course. Challenging for all skill levels. Excellent Practice facility (Grass range/bunker/chipping areas and large putting area). In summary, this is one you must play while in Laughlin. :) EXCELLENT time of the year to play - just have to watch the wind reports and get out early. One of my Favs!

Played 11-20-2011. Weather was decent for this time of year (can be windy). Service is always excellent, everyone is friendly and helpful. This course has a straightforward design with many bunkers and water in play on several holes. The variety of holes is excellent. The greens are coming out of overseeding and the rye grass hasn't filled in all the way, leaving a "patchy" appearance. They are smooth and firm but a little slow due to the graininess. give them another couple of months and they will be excellent. I love the look of this course. The rye grass fairways and rough are very green and contrast well with the desert landscape. Houses on a few holes, but most are away from houses. It's fun; play it if you have the chance!

Played on Friday, June 24, 2011 with Moneysworth; first of three rounds in the area. The course is in great shape despite the 110 plus degree heat. Lots of staff and the maintenance level of the course itself is high compared to other courses in the area; however, I thought we might have been playing on a no mow day. Everything was a little shaggy. It wasn't bad, but the other two courses on our weekend had tighter, faster greens. Locals play for $30, casino rate is $49; cart and range is included. I like the course: it reminded me of PGA West, with slightly elevated and well bunkered greens. Lots of water on the course as well. The sand in all the area courses tends to be more like reddish colored dirt and is not all that good. Other than that, I highly recommend playing this or any of the area courses when you visit Laughlin or Bullhead.
