Got to play this course this week and as usual course conditions did not disappoint at Pauite. Course was in great shape. Greens to tee boxes all good. Only issue was we were pushed back an hour by shotgun tourney. A note to golf operators when a shotgun ends send groups off both sides it will not interrupt play. All the EAST COAST does this!! The starter was receptive to idea but management could not put their minds around concept LOL. Pauite is always a good option when in Vegas area. This course is the least acclaimed but is very enjoyable and greens make it still a tough challenge. Enjoy!

Played on Monday 3/30 for a GN cost of $44 ( worth three times as much). Tee'd off at 1:36 and finished in right at 4 hours. From the time you enter the property until the time you leave this is a first class facility. Bag drop to bag pick-up, I was treated very well. Customer service is top notch. Now for the conditions; Range - grass range with good flag distances marked out. Putting green - good shape and is exactly what you will find on the course. Tee Boxes - great shape, very manicured Fairways - The only fairway that I noticed a number of divots was 18, the rest of the fairways are like carpet. Don't get me wrong, 18 is still very good. Rough - Incredible, it is thick and can be penalizing, but every blade of grass is the exact same length, just amazing. no bare or thin spots that I noticed and I was in the rough a lot. Bunkers - Course sand and many rocks, very playable, but is this courses worst feature. Greens - Firm and med/fast. Putts roll true and I loved the speed. No surprise breaks, what you see is what you get. They were a little, very little, on the tan side in color, still green though. The firmness doesn't allow many ball marks. Pace - right at 4 hours and marshals everywhere keeping track of your time. I looked forward to this round and my expectations were met and exceeded.

Played on 2/15. As usual, everything was perfect with this course. Outstanding service, conditions of fairways and greens tip top shape. You must play one of the three courses here if you come to Vegas, only warning is the wind. It does get a bit breezy there, so if you don't like playing in the wind, stay closer to town.

Played on Friday, 1/9, and used a previously purchased DealCaddy coupon of $70 for 2. We had a 8am tee time, and we were the 1st car in the lot at 7:20. Apparently, 8 is the 1st tee time in case of a frost delay. With the 1st tee, we played in just under 3:30, and were actually passed by another 2some of locals who were flying around the course.

The staff is great. There is a mandatory bag drop/pick up. The bags were on the cart and ready to go after check in. Restaurant staff, pro shop, and all outside services were very friendly. Drink cart was around at least 4 times.

There is a complimentary grass driving range (1 for Sun/Snow & 1 for Wolf), large putting green that was consistent with the course, and chipping area. Carts come equipped with a GPS with hole overview, and distances to hazards.

The course was in phenomenal shape, not a blade out of place. Carpet like fairways and rough about 1-2 inches long. Greens rolled smoothly, with little amount of damage, and a fast pace. Most were "semi-firm," with shots leaving a slight indent, but not a full ball mark. The bunkers were all full of fluffy sand, the best I've seen in Vegas, and weird since the course is exposed to daily winds. The only downside was the tee boxes, which had more than a handful set up on mounds and side lies.

Overall, typical Paiute, all around fantastic and great from start to finish. You definitely get what you pay for, which is the other downside for a local with other options. I jump when I find deals like the one we had. It's my 1st recommendation for anyone visiting Vegas, as all 3 courses are terrific.

Our second round of Thanksgiving golf was here. Customer service and staff were friendly. Saw the Marshall and cart girl on many holes. Tee boxes were perfect, fairways had divot marks that were never filled. Greens were fast and firm with no ball marks. Sand was nice. They were running about a 12. They have small GPS up in the corner of the cart that only had the basics- front, middle and back. Pin position was at 5, tough location. We had one of the last tee times again. Barely finished. It gets cold once that sun goes down. We had breakfast beforehand at the clubhouse. Fantastic food. A very beautiful course with no homes. Each hole presents it's own challenges.

Played 11/29. What a great course! Nearly perfect from tee to green. I have been here before and am already a big fan of Paiute. It is only 30 minutes from the strip and soooo worth it. Probably the most peaceful and quiet rounds I've ever played are here. The starter, Alonso? Alfonso? .... The guy from Illinois... Was one of the nicest people I've met. Talked to him for 15 minutes or so before tee off. Tee boxes level, fairways and rough excellent, 1-2" rough, a few tiny bare spots here or there, a few more divots on some of the fairways than one may expect, but I think it's just cuz of the holiday the day before. Maybe some maintenance guys got the day off early. Greens were perfect, nary a ball mark anywhere, firm but receptive with a lot of spin (which I couldn't create well today). I inquired late about stimp, only the lady closing up wasn't sure. My best guess is 12-13. Barely needed to touch it and it just kept going. Definitely over 11. Just awesome. Sand was nice and abundant. Every trap consistent. I was in a lot. Saw the cart girl 7-9 times, no lie! Marshalls abundant and super friendly. Small but efficient GPS. Play was slow as we were the last tee time, but I pretty much expect that. Still got through just before we couldn't see. I can't think of one negative here. I would play here weekly if I lived in the area. And how can you go wrong with a place that has Texas burnt orange golf carts!

Joined Sixpez for some golf in Las Vegas last week. The first course we played was the Snow Mountain track at Las Vegas Pauite. What made the round even more fun was local Vegas GKers Rob1563 and John_T joined us. I had played both the Wolf and Snow Mountain Pauite courses before so this was the course I was looking most forward to playing on the trip. I understood going into the round the Sun Mountain was going to be the most tame for the average golfer but my mind could not wrap its head around a Pete Dye designed course ever being tame…and my double bogey on the 1st hole after finding the fairway bunker backed that up! No, it was not as difficult as the Wolf or Snow but it certainly was a challenge. Compared to the Wolf and Snow, the fairways were wider, greens a little less undulating, bunkers not as steep, water features not as intimidating and overall more flat. It’s a beautiful course like the others…best to check out the photos I posted. As for the conditions, exactly what I expected from a golf course with annual rye grass (no overseeding required) and plenty of water to keep things lush. Greens rolled smooth, held shots and were medium-fast. Fairways was lush, cut tight, well groomed. Rough was short and lush. Tees Boxes, lush, mostly level, cut tight. Bunkers, quality sand and well cared for. Overall Great Condition. Between the rounds we had lunch in the clubhouse restaurant. The food was excellent – I had the buffalo chicken sandwich, service great and served up quick. The clubhouse is magnificent with stunning views of the course, vaulted ceilings and huge proshop. Highly Recommend.

Finally had the chance to play all three Paiute courses this weekend. Played Sun Mountain first with JohnnyGK, Rob1563 and John_T. We played the white tees as our "warm up" round, so that definitely took some of the bite out of the course. Still, I would call this the tamest layout of the three and somewhat "Pete Dye light." Most landing areas are pretty generous and greens accessible, but there are also a few intimidating/tough holes mixed in occasionally to remind you Dye was there. A member of the staff remarked this is actually the toughest course to score on based on experiences from low-handicappers/scratch golfers playing from the tips, so I found that interesting.

As Rob says, the course is in great shape right now. Nothing to complain about there, especially considering it's late in what's been a very hot summer in Vegas. Everything is pretty green, lush and excellent playability. Rough not deep and ball will sit up, but super thick rye grass that really grabs your club and will make you work. As one of the handful of facilities in the area that doesn't overseed, Paiute is a great option this time of year. Love the secluded feel of the property with no homes around and only rugged desert wilderness. Highly recommended.

Fairways were like wide lush carpets, with very little thin or brown areas. Rough was 1-3 inches, and not very penal. Bunkers had good sand, with no rocks. They were a little wet in the morning, but dried out as we went along. Greens were in great condition. Fast, and held shots. Tee boxes were OK, with some placed sidehill lies.

Overall, a great experience, start to finish. Paiute is always in great shape and worth a look in Vegas.
