Greens were very firm, and rolled perfectly at medium-fast speed, with speed increasing somewhat as the sun and wind dried them further – you couldn’t really make a ballmark, and I think I repaired 2 or 3 old ballmarks during any of the rounds. Green speeds were consistent throughout the round, which was great, and getting the speed correct on these greens is the key to managing your round and score. Most of the greens are slightly crowned, and many are elevated above the fairways and surrounds, exposing them more to the wind and challenging players to hold greens and control their putts.

We had good lies in all the fairways; most of the old divots had been filled, either by players or staff. Rough was generally cut low and very playable, but further offline you are in the desert and lies are very chancy. Sand was deep and soft around the greens; balls could easily create their own depression, making recovery more difficult. Tee boxes were all level, but on Sun Mountain tees were small and set up very narrow – however, even par-3 tees were in good condition.

We saw the cart girl several times each day and enough water was available on all courses, as well as having snack shacks at the turn.

I went on a quick Vegas golf trip earlier this week. I started here Wednesday on a 12:07 GolfNow Hot Deal. Check in was smooth but there were three different starters out at the Sun Mountain first tee, and it seemed like there was a lot more confusion than there needed to be. First they told me I'd be playing with one group, and then moved me to a different group. Rather than just sending people out with the group/time they were booked, they acted like they had to slot everyone in for some reason. Anyway, started a few minutes late as a result. The course was very full but POP was good at about 4:15. Weather was clear blue skies, windy and chilly at times, but really beautiful with snow-capped Mt. Charleston visible nearby.

Course conditions are excellent. Greens are smooth and fast, although they are pretty firm. Even full shot short irons took a big bounce or two before stopping. Fairways are fantastic and seemed like they almost got better the deeper into the course I got. Rough was also very lush, great coverage, not too penal; maybe 2 inches deep. Bunkers were great with tons of soft sand. Gold (Championship) tee boxes were nearly perfect.

I've now played all three courses here. In my opinion, the difference between them is almost negligible. While conditions and the remote desert setting are wonderful, I find the layouts a little forgettable. Out of 54 holes, only a handful captivate me. I like this place, but I really wanted to LOVE it, and I don't.

You can't go wrong playing any of the Paiute courses. The driving ranges are immaculate, wide with a lot of targets. The course was in amazing shape. The tee boxes weren't chewed up and there weren't any divots to speak of in the fairways. The greens were very receptive and the ball stopped easily. The greens were a little on the slow/medium side. They said the greens were rolling at about an 11 but they seemed a little slower to me. Nonetheless, they rolled true and smoothly. The sand was nice although I was only in one greenside bunker. The two fairway bunkers I hit out of were in great shape. The pace a play was steady, we only waited on the drivable par 4 10th and one par 3 near the end of he round. Also, there are water jugs every 3 holes or so which isn't automatic on Vegas courses. I would definitely play the Sun course or any of the Paiute courses in a heartbeat.

A good day at Sun Mountain course on the 1st of October was had by a friend and me. An early afternoon round 12:32pm took us 4 hours and 15 minutes to get through a windy round with some 30mph gust at time- we knew it will be- so no complaints- we, my buddy and the other paired with us played just fine and had a blast with that gorgeous course. Landing area became tighter and the greens smaller- made it even more satisfying when we hit'em...cheers & first bumps all around .. this is a fun course to get excited about the little things in golf- and oh the risk.. LOL

The course was in good condition all in all... the greens were okay, green side bunker were fine- the fairways were lush and very good, and so as the teeing grounds.

Beverage cart came around a few times- it's just fun here.. can't wait to come back!

8/20- Took my girlfriend's little brother for a Sat morning round for his 21st birthday. We lucked out have low 70 degrees at teeoff and only rising to mid 80s by finish time. First off they this place must be draining lake Mead single handedly! For late August the course was absolutely emerald! The driving range conditions were better then any course I have ever seen. Now to the round, pace of play was fantastic as you start about ten minutes or more between groups. Tee boxes were lush and meticulously maintained. When I landed in the fairway, drives would roll for days. Most of my time was spent in the rough which was consistent but long. Greens were firm and fast even with all the water they received. We were paired with a local who provided great company, advice for play, and great "dad jokes." All around a great place to play, can't wait to play here during the GK Event in November! P.S. If you miss fairways like I do, bring a beater club to save strokes from the rocky fringes of the rough. If you miss it tends to be really rocky (club eaters) in the desert!

Went Out on Sat at 816am with my brother on a deal from teeoff.com for $64 and that is a steal. The Guy at the pro shop tried to tell us that it was a resident tee time only and wanted to charge us 145 a piece. I was very upset because the teoof time did not mention resident rate and I know because I saw that on the golf now tee time. After showing him that it said nothing about it he brushed us off and let us go out for the $64. The rest of the staff were great and courteous. The starter was full of jokes and generally seemed to love his job.

Course was in Fantastic shape all around. From the tee boxes, fairways, rough, and sand all A++. The only thing I was not a fan of was very firm greens I had a few shots bounce off the green but nothing that really made me upset i just changed my shot shapes.

I recommend going out to theses courses anytime and at least experience the quality of this course. PS what out for wild animals including dog sized jack rabbits.

Played the Sun Mountain course at Las Vegas Paiute Golf Resort. I love this place. The Snow Mountain is my favorite here, but yesterday, we played the Sun Mountain. Fantastic conditions. Tee boxes flat and a good mow, fairways absolutely perfect, and greens were in great shape. The rough is thick and lush, and will be somewhat penalizing. The bunkers were still decent at 105* in the dog days of August. I expected a little harder ground, but it was still soft in most spots. The wind picks up out here in the PM, so just be warned. We tee'd off at 9am, and finished right about noon. Had the course basically to ourselves. Saw 2-3 groups out there, max. In my opinion, the Sun Mountain is little tougher than the Snow, with the Wolf being the hardest. I feel the Sun is a little more narrow than the Snow, but still somewhat wide and forgiving. Water features all over the course, especially the par 3's. I highly recommend this place. It's a little further of a drive than most Las Vegas courses, but well worth it.

Played this course this past Sunday and the course was in immaculate condition. No complains other than the marshall kept pushing us when there was no way to catch a group in front of us and the group behind us was on pace with us. So there was no reason to push us along. Finished the round just under 4 hours.

Played today, with an 8ish tee time, using a DealCaddy prepaid coupon. Pulled into an empty parking lot and expected a frost delay, considering they had overnight rains and temps in the 30s with 20 mph breezes. Easy check in after dropping off the bags and found out no delay this morning. Grabbed a $4 breakfast sandwich at the bar and went off to the range to warm up. I think during the week, they only open one of the 2 ranges they have on property. We rolled up to the starter about 8 and finished around 11:30, never seeing anyone behind us until 17.

Course was in great condition for the winter. Tee boxes were level with the only damage on the Par 3s. Fairways were full with no thin or bare areas. Rough was about 1 or 2 inches longer than the fairway, just barely noticeable. Bunkers were in great shape. Fairway bunkers were pretty compact and the greenside sand was kinda heavy, with 4 straight days of rain. Greens were fast and smooth, with some ball marks.

Overall, another great day at Paiute. Sun ranks as the #3 course here. Outside of 1 or 2 holes, it just doesn't stand out like Wolf and Snow and the Par 3s are just ok, but it's still a good course.
