I played the Cholla course last Sunday, Mar. 1st, to wrap up my Arizona golf trip. I paid $200. Although the entire facility was top notch, it's hard for me to tell someone it was well worth the greens fees. However, I must admit that I am not sure what I'd expect at this rate. Anyway, the course was in very good condition but the greens weren't consistently as good as the Saguaro course that I played 2 days earlier. Some greens weren't as smooth but to be honest, I'm probably nitpicking since they were rolling well. I'll also add that the greens on this course didn't seem as fast as the ones on Saguaro. This course also seemed to have more holes that demanded course management. There were a couple of holes that snaked in shape so it was imperative to not overclub. Tee boxes and bunkers were very well kept. In the end, I really enjoyed my experience at We-Ko-Pa and I would like to comeback but I'll probably return during the non-peak season.

First stop on TeaGal and my annual AZ trip. Fantastic course and staff. Greens were fast and super smooth, fairways and rough near flawless. Staff is incredible from the drop off to the club cleaning. Love the iced, scented towels. Fairways and rough barely a mark and any mark was filled as the maintenance crew fills them all nightly. We were told, don't fix your divots (fairway). We'll do it. Wow! I AM ON VACATION!! Sweet! Cool layout with a wide variety of holes. If not my favorite course in AZ, a close second.

Out here on our annual golf vacation to Arizona. This was the first course on our playlist. Played this course several years ago and have wanted to come back. Tee time was at 7:40am to hopefully beat some of the heat. Finished in just under 4:20. All staff were exceptionally nice! At tee #1, got a nice and cold towel to use when it got hotter. Did not have to wait at all on any of the holes. Tee boxes nice and green and flat. Fairways were as green as can be with only new divots. They don't give you sand mix but the maintenance crew fills all divots daily. Real nice touch. Greens were fast and smooth and were immaculate. Nice and cold drinking water just about every third hole. A very pretty course with lots of chollas and saguaros. One of my favorites in AZ.

Played May 25th, 630 am. The We Ko Pa facility/staff is great and the course matched it. I played the Cholla course on this day before Memorial Monday. Beautiful course conditions and the difficulty scale was a 9 out of 10. If you lose your ball left or right off fairways you will have to take a penalty stroke cause the ball won't be playable. Too many thick bushes and rocks make it difficult to hack it out. Plus snakes are plentiful out there so don't veer off hole too far. The scenery wasn't as grand as Paiute Golf Club in Las Vegas but it certainly compares with speedy greens and lush grass tee boxes/fairways for being out in the desert. A check mark play if your in the Phoenix area.

I just wanted everyone to know that the Cholla course is back to it's normal condition. Superb. The last reviewer must have played it right before the course was aerated.

Normally during peak season this course is one of the top courses for fairways and greens condition.
But for the summer play this year they completely lost the middle of the fairways which were burned to only dirt. So stay away from the middle of the fairways. How is that for golfing.
The greens were lost also, but I would say that because they knew the start of aeration would be soon.
My opinion is to stay away for the summer. The cost isn't worth it unless you can play for free.

Played Cholla course for the second time. Customer service was very good, guy in pro shop recognized us and welcomed us by name, nice touch. They had also offered (yesterday) to keep our clubs there as we were playing today, again very nice touch. Started on time, finished in 4 and a half, steady pace for most of the time, minor wait on some tees. Greens were in great shape, firm for the most part but true. Fairways were good, not as many un-filled divots as on Saguaro (yesterday). Rough seemed to be newly sodded (same as Saguaro course) but didn't hinder, although it was quite thin. Sand was hard in the bunkers, ok for fairway bunkers, but was very difficult to play out of green-side bunkers. This course is quite a bit different from Saguaro, both are very good courses,Cholla isn't as wide open and has it's own quirks. My playing partner liked this course over Saguaro, I was the opposite. Both are worth playing, scenery is great too.

By far the best course I have played all year, best of all it was free. Customer service was great and in this crazy heat we saw the cart girl more than enough times to stay hydrated. Course all around was in great shape, not one bad thing to say. We will be going back to this course tomorrow.

Again, not disappointed with WeKoPa. Beautiful surroundings, holes, conditions every time I've played either WeKoPa course. Very firm and fast though this time in April of 2009. Greens were tough to hold and almost impossible to get to when coming in over a bunker. Only negative was that they admittedly were getting extra groups (NASCAR was in town) onto the course between scheduled tee times- our 1:50 became 2:30!
