Picturesque layout in excellent shape. Got a $35 hot deal during the week. Greens were smooth and medium fast. Tees, sand, and fairways all well above average. Emerald fairways, tawny rough, and brown mountains what more could you ask for. Some elevation changes forced carries and desert areas make for a solid challenge. Good resort course and a nice way to ease into Tucson golf before playing some of the harder offerings. One of the more affordable options in the area. Highly recommend.

We made a stop in Tucson for a day and was able to play El Conquistador around 0818 for a $30 rate. The course was fairly busy and pace was slow even though we finished in about 4 hours.

We made a stop in Tucson for a day and was able to play El Conquistador around 0818 for a $30 rate. The course was fairly busy and pace was slow even though we finished in about 4 hours.
I enjoy the course mostly because of the variety of holes. I don’t think it’s your typical resort style course as it makes you be fairly accurate with tee shots and approaches. It has varying lengths of par 4s and par 3s. Overall a fun course.
Fairways, greens and sand traps were all in good shape. Some bare spots on the fairways but nothing to affect play too drastically. Greens accepted shots but were on the slow side. The sand traps were a pleasure to play out of because they actually had sand in them.
My negatives on the course were the range and the tee boxes. As a Troon managed course expect better quality range balls than the ones provided. Balls were chewed up and in very poor condition. The rank itself had zero grass to use. Just full of sand and hard to utilize. The tee boxes were frequently uneven and hard to find a spot to get a decent stance.
Overall a fun course for the price and location.

Great shape! beautiful f-ways and greens. Challenging greens and layout. Love the par 4 w/ lay up to 135 and then desert to 200 before more grass, somebody can clear it not me. Elevated greens are the majority. Nice bunker sand which oddly is rare here. Great staff I love the way they welcome your party over the PA to go on deck at the included range. Can't wait to play it again. Not expensive at all for this course. 35-49.00 online. 5 tees so it's fun for all of us. I only play the black but I move them up to the regulars. It's a must if your in the area.

Played this course 10/4/2009 right before they get ready to overseed. The course was in surprisingly good shape. The tee boxes were nice, the fairways were very playable, and the greens, while being a little bit bumpy, rolled quick and true. It had been a while since I played this course, and I had forgotten how fun it can be. There is a nice mixture of short and long par 4's to challenge you. There are some elevated tee boxes, and elevated greens on the par 3's. There is a nice combination of straight and dogleg holes to put a value on shot placement. The customer service was very friendly and helpful. I'd rate this course as a nice pleasant outing course. It's not bombs away, but it's also not so tight that you have to leave the driver in the bag. The greens have different levels, so make sure you're aware of pin placement before planning your approach.
