In 30 yrs of golf all over Tucson, today I was treated with disrespect like never before. Our 4 some at Heritage Highlands was on track to finish the front 9 in about 2 hr 10 min. On the 6th hole the ranger starts circling his finger at us like "lets hurry up guys". Behind us was a twosome and to that point had never felt them pushing us at all. So we finish the front in just over two hours. Pretty darn fast I would say. Not 3 holes later and the twosome nowhere in site, he harasses us again. We are now on track to finish 18 in like 4 hrs and 20 minutes. The 3rd time he visits us he tells us we have to skip 16 so that we could finish at 4 hrs! We were having a good time playing well and this Ass won't leave us alone. I will never play there nor recommend Heritage Highlands to anyone again.

I decided to give this course another try after the rates went down to $36. I'm glad I did. Totally different experience then last summer. The course has very good customer service. The course condition was two times better than last summer. The best thing I heard all day from the three members I played with was that they no longer have rangers. The starter was very pleasant which set the tone for the rest of the day. I had a very memorable golf experience. I must play this summer!!!!

Played in a foursome on 8/20/2011 and had a great round. When playing this course previously, got a little upset at the ranger because of his constant "keep up" messages even though we were waiting on the group ahead of us. Didn't have any contact other than "hey there how ya doing" with the ranger this time. Course is in good shape considering it's summertime in Tucson and we're going through record setting high temperatures. The greens were good and rolled very true. There were a couple of bare spots on the fairways but see above explanation for that. The course is not overly difficult, but does present some shotmaking challenges. The variety of teeboxes was great. The tips play well for the long hitters and lower handicap golfers, but the forward tees are very friendly for the shorter hitters and higher handicappers. If you have a variety of skill level golfers in your group, this helps even things out much better than many other courses I have played. The staff was very friendly and helpful throughout the day. I'd play this course again and enjoy it again if the round was like the one we played recently. One additional highlight was being able to watch the thunderstorms roll in late in the afternoon near the end of the round.

Played on 8-13-11 After reading some reviews about pace of play and the ranger's attitude I was a little apprehensive, nobody likes to feel rushed or uncomfortable when trying to play this game (its tough enough) That said the greeting form the bag drop was pleasent the pro shop staff was happy to greet us and offered tips and suggestions for us to enjoy thier course, it is private but, opens in the summer months. Practice area was good unlimited range balls and a big putting green that you also can chip from. Teed off as a fousrome at 7:00 am and the starter was adament on pace of play of 4 hours and 10 minutes, telling us to keep the foursome in sight and we shouldnt have a problem. The other twosome was just leaving the driving range and the starter was pressing them to get to the tee box so I'm thininking oh no hear we go! We all teed off and that was the last time we seen a ranger of anytype. Course was full but, pace of play was right on so no worries on bieng rushed as we hardly waited and we as a foursome pretty much kept up with no problems. Course was in decent shape tee boxes better than average, fairways had some dead spots in them but, overall good shape. Greens soft and ball stuck, rolled pretty true with not a lot of divot marks people took care of divots which was nice. Wasnt inthe sand so no review, some interesting holes and overall layout was challenging but, nothing severe, I really liked the layout and views were beautiful. Even tho your in the Tortalita moutains the other high end courses around there ( the Gallery and Ritz Carlton) have the better veiws but, this course does a nice job. The price was very competitive and overall experience was real good. There seemed to be quite a bit of members playing that day and they were all nice and appeared to be receptive that even tho there course is open to the public they werent snobby aout the general public playing. I would play it again if given the chance.

This course lets the public play during the summer. Frankly, I wouldn't bother! The course was not in that good of shape. Private country clubs generally will take care of there course. But that is not the case here. With that said, NO cart service and a VERY pushie ranger made for an experience I couldn't wait to get over with. If a group is 2 hours and 5 minutes at the 9th hole you have no right to ask them to hurry up. This seems to be a common thing with this course and yet when you say something to them about the guy they do nothing. Overall, This is a NEVER play again course.

Was invited by a neighbor to play Heritage Highlands. This course is a 'members only' course during the high season here in Tucson Oct-May but is open to the general public during the summer low season. We paid $39 + tax = $42.16. On the back nine, some of the views were spectacular. It was in exrtemely good condition shown by how the members take care of their course. The greens were not as slow as the attendent said. The pins were always placed with putting as the challange and not the approach shot. I recommend this to all who get a chance to play in Tucson during the summer who want an upscale experience.
