Arguable the most difficult course on the Central Coast, this scenic gem offers views of Monterey Bay from many of its rolling, tree lined fairways. The greens are fast and undulating. The front nine was recently rebuilt, leaving it a bit immature but in beautiful playing condition. Leave your ego at home and bring your camera, and you'll have a great time.

Played for the first time last Tuesday after playing Poppy Hills and Pacific Grove the days before. It was a great experience. Very tough, very fast greens, great views, and classic Monterey Cypress trees throughout. They gave us 2-for-1 coupons for a return visit. Highly recommended.

Recommend playing the course in the morning, that way you have a chance to miss the cold heavy air and wind in the late afternoon as the fog rolls in. This is especially important on the back 9 which is a brute. Front 9 is really enjoyable, holes are right in front of you, fairways wide . . . the back is one of the toughest 9 you will ever play. Narrow fairways, severe doglegs, heavy rough, uphill, downhill, tree limbs squeezing in from all sides. Very good course in great condition, worth playing.

This is a long and unforgiving track where you'll be rewarded for solid course mgmt skills and severely penalized for mis-hits or poor planning. Mistakes will happen but the trick will be not to compound those mistakes with others. The course is a solid test and will uncover a golfer's weaknesses quickly.

This is a very nice course that requires accuracy. Overhanging trees challenge you to shape your shots for your approach, and if you're in forest of the tree lined fairways be sure to 'take your medicine' and pitch it back onto the fairway. Greens were pretty fast but not as fast as the practice green (thought I was Tiger at the 06 Masters), but that could be due the amount of rain the course has had to endure. Definitely worth the fees, be sure to check online for them discounted for an even more remarkable deal!

(A Southern Californian's review). We played on 7/7 and enjoyed the round. It's basically a higher-end muni, which isn't surprising considering that it used to be the local military course there at the now-decommisioned Fort Ord. The green fees were reasonable and the course was interesting as well. Especially the back 9. Lots of doglegs and hazards. Anything missing the fairway ends up in some of 48 gazillion trees that line the course and costs at least 1 shot. All in all a good morning. Nice people.
