Very enjoyable golf experience for playing the course for the first time. Golf course was very hilly and picturesque from every tee box and throughout entire course. Greens were very undulating and extremely fast especially and down hillers. Plenty of water on course to catch a errant shot. No such thing as a flat lie or a straight putt on this golf course! A very challenging test of your game. Guess the course is punching their greens tomorrow. A must play after aeration process has healed up in 3 or 4 weeks from now.

All the usual suspects at The Ridge were in very, very good condition...tee boxes, fairways, rough, bunkers/traps, range balls, and greens. But the greens are the most diabolical I recall ever putting on. Breaks that you can't read, and breaks that won't happen where you do! Someday, I'm gonna be able to putt well here and that will feel a lot like breaking par. Very minimal damage from other golfers and even tho we were a two-some sandwiched between four-somes, we really weren't held up enough to gripe about...still finished in just 4.5 hours. 90 degree rule was in effect for all but a few holes which were cart-path only due to being pretty soggy, but was surprised that we were able to do that. Service is always good here.

One of the best plays for the money in Northern CA. Excellent course design, very good condition as of late Oct '07. Holes are varied in design and extremely photogenic. Service is good, range is good, putting greens are much slower than the real greens. Nice terrain and no houses around the course.

Played yesterday...pretty damp fairways after the rains we had last weekend so it was a cart-path only day, but that was ok. Customer service was excellent, from the T-time reservation to check in to the cart marshall and their new carts are great. The only knock on the course at all is the condition of the greens...many areas of ball mark damage that don't seem to be healing too well. It's hard to fault the staff for golfers bad manners, and I know the greens aren't really growing at this time of the year, but they were borderline & probably the worst I've ever seen them. For those who can't be bothered to fix their marks...if you don't know how, ask somebody to show you how to repair a ball mark. If you don't do it because you're too lazy or it's "beneath" you, then take up another activity!!! Time to get off my soapbox. Fairways are much better than most courses in the area...very lush with few poor lies. Still a good experience, so if you're in the area, try this course.

Took The Ridge up on their $50 golf & dinner special yesterday and it was all good. The course is in generally excellent condition with the fairways being very close to the shape they were in for the LPGA events that were held there. The only quibbles were a few of the tee boxes were bumpy and most of the greens still show signs of aeriation from earlier in the fall...but some greens have rebounded faster than others so it wasn't all that bad. The traps and bunkers appear to have new sand in them from the last time I was there and are in good shape also. Some sprinkler work going on #15, but not a problem. They have new carts that are much better than the previous ones. The dinner portion was also excellent...we had prime rib, but you can also choose either salmon, chicken, pasta or vegetarian, and it came with soup/salad, vegies, and potato of your choice. I think we determined it cost about $31 for golf and $19 for dinner...both a bargain. No coupon needed for this "noon & after" special, just tell them that's what you want when you book your tee time. All in all, a very good outing and I will do it again.

The Ridge is in pretty nice shape right now. The greens are fast, though still showing a little of the punch they got awhile back. Fairways are nice... though they were working on the sprinkler system on 15. Sand was perfect. Rough was long enough, but didn't kill your chances of getting down the hole.

Good deals to be had if you're on their email list. I played for $35 today. Gotta love the winter rates.
