Played today--course was in ok shape. They have taken a different approach this summer than usual with overwatering the fairways and greens and leaving them longer. Usually it's the opposite here and it's a pinball machine in the summer. However, it really was in ok shape consider the end of a hot summer. Slow greens but smooth-ish. Rough was pretty much dead but fairways were ok if you're willing to move your ball onto a piece of grass.

Still totally worth the $22 green fee. They are redoing the clubhouse currently.

Played Mon 8/1, 10:15, 3some, 4:15 rd. Nice, warm day with slight breeze. Course looks like it's taking a small beating in the valley heat. Fairways are not as lush as 4 months ago and greens are definitely slower (fast 9). Didn't really affect play or enjoyment. For $39 with cart, will never complain. I had fun, and I still love the track. They are remodeling the clubhouse, making it bigger, so trailers for proshop and food. Hotdogs were the food offering, along with packaged snacks. No tap, but still have bottled beer. didn't ask how long they expect the construction to go. Had a good time overall.

Played Wed 4/6, 10:30 tee time, 4 1/2 hr round (3some playing behind 5some for 7 holes slowed us down). First time here. What a fun, great course. I enjoyed this course immensely. Every hole was interesting. didn't hurt I hit the ball well. Many features throughout the course (strategic trees, creeks, ravines, mounds, elevation changes), fair but tough challenge. Greens big and undulating, and challenging; running fast (slow 11) mostly true. Certainly helps to know where the flag is in relation to the green features, and hitting the correct part of the green will reward you greatly. Food was really good. Staff great. $50 with cart makes this a STEAL. I think it's my new favorite Sac area course. Wish it was closer.

Played the back nine on 6/18. Beautiful morning to fly solo and play in under 1.5 hours. Course is in great shape, as the greens are quick but soft and the rest of the course is green enough for a summer drought. The back tee boxes were basically perfect. This is always a good test of golf that will penalize wayward shots and reward good shots.

Haven't played here in a while, so I thought I'd post a review.

Pro Shop: Friendly staff, nice small bar in the shop with a banquet room adjacent to the main room. Decent amount of clothing and accessories, but very few clubs for sale. Paid for my green fee and range token fairly quickly, pro shop staff was friendly.

Range/Practice Area: Range was in decent shape, disappointed that they had all players hitting off mats today. New chipping green in practice area opened on 2/14. Putting Green is a large, undulating green. Gives a good preview of what to expect on the course.

Course: Course is a links style layout, with a little water and few oaks trees coming into play on about 1/3 of the holes. A large number of bunkers on the course. Ridges and small hills are all over the layout, reminiscent of playing in Ireland or Scotland. Greens are in great shape. Tee boxes are in good shape. Sand traps need more sand. Several small ruts or animal holes in the rough that need fixed.

Beverage service started about 10AM and came around often enough. A quality, underrated course in Roseville!

This is one nice golf course; tough, challenging, elevation changes, lots of bunkers (grass and sand), Add wild turkeys, geese and a few hawks, and it makes for one luxury class golf course that will not rape your wallet! This use to be a private country club and now it is open to the public. The fairways were very nice, the greens rolled fast and smooth, the traps were mostly fluffy, although I only had the privilege to find two on this day. The pace of play was great for the fact I was playing in a tournament (foursome stroke play) and was finish in less than 4 hours. The setting of this course is placed in a wealthy area of Roseville, which adds to the scenic surroundings of this course. Top it off with little wind, clear blue skies and a nice mid 70's temperature, and you have the perfect place to enjoy this hilly wonderland. Fairways offer a mixture of narrow to wide, making for a variety of difficulty of the tee. A few holes open up and scream "Let it rip" ... and I did on the 15th and 17th ... However, there are a couple that require a well place shot off the tee or a troubled 2nd shot will await you. Overall, this course is a blast to play, and I look forward to the next time I can make the trek up to this neighborhood. The green fees are reasonable and are well worth the cost.

Palyed the course many times so I'm writing this review just to give you an update on conditions. The fairways, tees, bunkers and rough are all in good condition. The greens rolled pretty good, but there was a lot of divot marks on most of the greens. this made them a little bumpy, but very playable. All in all the coursae is in pretty good shape and a good challenge. It's worth the price of admission. I will say, that the range is pretty beat up and we were basically hitting of of mud warming up.

Morgan Creek is a surprisingly challenging golf course due in large part to interesting man made shelfs and fairway contouring in combination with a layout which requires a bit of thought as to how one might hit off the tee or an approach shot. Built within a housing development of the same name, Morgan Creek has some nice charactoristics built in, namely the hearty oak trees on the property which make this course feel older than it really is. Approx. half of the fairways are paralleled by homes, there are several areas of environmental out of bounds, and a few holes feature water as the primary hazard in play.

As the greens were recently aerated, I was able to get a Sunday afternoon rate of $20. Our group of 3 teed off around 3:30 and concluded at sundown, the pace of play was generally good though we did have to wait a bit on the back nine on a couple holes, but nothing out of the realm of unreasonable. The tee boxes were in good shape, fairly level and pretty clean in appearance. The fairways and roughs were a bit patchy, areas of thin grass followed by sections of deeper growth. As the greens were aerated, no comment, though the sand seemed a pinch on the thin side but still playable. I greatly enjoyed the round and would look forward to playing it again should an opportunity come up.
