Played here on 7/3. Weather was great 5 to 10 wind. Was looking forward to this outing as had never played here before. Found out that there is a major project underway in renovating the first 4 holes’ tee boxes. So they played very short, 6&7 irons of the tees. One thing I noticed right away was how weedy and rock hard the fairways are. I was only in one bunker and it had very little sand and the grass and weeds had encroached a good 12-14 inches into the bunker. The speed on the greens was inconsistent from slow to very slow. The people I played with assured me that the north course is the premier course it’s in much better condition. Based on what I saw I will most likely not return here.

Played 10/12/2019 Shotgun start tournament conditions perfect golf weather. I'd consider this a semi-private facility with leanings towards the private side. Tee times can be found on Golf Now and if you hit a hot deal for $44 around noon midweek I'd say you have a great value. $60 most other afternoons weekdays.
This was my first round playing the South course a Ted Robinson design which opened in 1971. Had a great short game day resulting in a net +4 scoring day. 27 putts. Immaculate course conditions all around and the greens well kept and speedy. I guess I adjusted ok from slow aerated ones the day before with no practice before round. Tee to green high marks for this course. Interesting and Challenging.
My expectations of a private course in great condition were met on every level and would recommend for anyone seeking above average golf experience.
Rancho Murieta is a gated community east of Sacramento with a population of approx 6000 the two courses are part of the community of varied ages and families.

I booked a 12:15 hot deal time here yesterday afternoon. $44. Arrived much earlier. It didn't seem too busy, so they let me out on my own a little before 11:00. They told me there were a couple groups ahead that I might play through. After a couple holes, I tried to skip ahead but there weren't any openings ahead. It was pretty stacked, so I ended up joining a nice member threesome for the rest of the round and I went back to play the couple holes I skipped afterward. Total pace still not too bad at around 4 hours.

I was disappointed in the conditions. I usually don't expect much in this area in the winter season, but it was very patchy and largely dormant throughout the course. A hodge podge of green and brown patches throughout. Mostly played okay, but a lot of weak areas, too. Bunkers fine with a few having puddles from recent storms. The greens were pretty nice overall, receptive and rolling well at medium speeds. Tee boxes fine throughout.

Disappointing conditions marred what is an otherwise very enjoyable layout. I know the North course is usually heralded as the star course at RMCC, but the South is very interesting, challenging and fun all the way through. Plays through more residential areas, but houses rarely feel "in play" at all. Routing is very spread out and the first tee is very far away from the main clubhouse, but no big deal. Now is not the ideal time to play here in terms of weather or conditions, especially as the prices remain kind of high. However, I am not sure how much longer they will continue to offer public tee times, so I wanted to play both courses while available.
