6/3 using teeoff deal time $48 plus 17 to ride which was a good choice as it is hilly and often a distance between greens and tees. Seemed like most holes on the front 9 played up hill to elevated greens while the back was more level but still mostly elevated greens so without nice high approaches in my arsenal I was often short with challenging chips. Fairways were lush with good lies but limited roll. Rough was long enough to impede roll and at times a little sticky.
Tees were ok with par 3s pretty chewed up. Bunkers are in need of work especially on the front being haed backed dirt with a little sand mixed in.
Greens had good cover and rolled fairly well with slight bumpiness at times. Most greens had levels and often significant slope so anywhere above the hole was mostly another stroke orntwo if the ball missed the hole.
Layout is interesting and varied with a few dog legs and often trouble on one side. Plenty od risk reward chjoices hitting over trees to cut corners. Woiuld be helpful to play a few times as there were some blind shots and more info could help course management.

grass driving range a little beat up. Large putting green also allowed chipping. Carts are old and rather beat up with no gps. Cart paths are rugged and very bumpy.
All in all a fun round. POP about 430 following 3 4 somes 2 1/2 on the front and 2 on the back.

The third course of my Bend trip. My buddy is a member here and got us on for free at twilight. Understand this is not a high end course and basically a really fun local muni. The practice facility and clubhouse are minimalist but get the job done.

This course is your classic super tight, short, risk reward target mountain golf. I absolutely love these kind of courses. They are a blast to play for a twilight round when you want to knock it around and not worry about your score.

Condition wise it wasnt the best. They didnt make it cart path only following the rain and the fairways were chewed up. Some really bad cart damage. The greens rolled fine, very quick downhill, but many of them had bad fungus infestations and other poa damage. Great condition for muni standards. A few of the tee boxes were lumpy but nothing bad.

The course is a blast to play. As if you can hit high fades or draws with your driver you can cut a lot of corners and overpower the course. I almost drove a few holes and hit all the par 5s in two. Many going driver then a 7 iron over some trees. Total blast to play. Local knowledge is a must. Really fun course with unique quirky holes if thats your thing. Which it is and I had an absolute blast.

Played here this morning with my brother. We had a 7:12 tee time and were the second group off behind another twosome, so we had a nice 3-hour pace. Price was $69 with cart, which seems a bit too expensive for this course, but it is peak season in Bend right now.

The course was in pretty good shape. Definitely not as well manicured as other area courses, but still very good by most standards. The fairways were lush with only a few bad areas here and there. They seemed a bit greener and fuller on the back nine. The greens were nice without too many unrepaired marks and smooth surfaces. Bunkers had pretty good sand. A few of the tee boxes (whites) had some lumpy spots, but usually easy to find a nice level area to set up. The rough was lush in most areas, but there were plenty of bare spots and patchy sections. Lots of ground squirrels here doing their thing.

River's Edge is not a course for everyone. Local knowledge would be helpful here because there are a number of funky holes and unusual hole designs. Mostly target golf on the front, then the back nine opens up a bit but plays longer. Lots of elevation changes here and some great views of the city below. 16th signature par-3 hole is pretty cool with a major drop from tee to green. Many holes that play uphill to make up for a couple big drops on the course. Side-slanted fairways, big doglegs, trees and hazards offer plenty of challenge, but if you keep it in play you can score well. It's a fun course and I enjoyed many aspects of it, but I didn't quite love it. It's one of those that people either seem to love or hate like most "funky" target golf courses that take a lot of local knowledge, some careful strategy and plenty of patience.
