BOTTOM LINE: The course is overseeded. The fairways and greens could be better but still very playable. CART PATH ONLY!!

Played my annual birthday round this morning with LEWGVLINSURANCE. Teed off at 7:30 a.m. and never saw another group ahead or behind us. Cart path only due to overseeding of fairways, so we took our time and still finished before 11:00 a.m. Course was in very nice shape, still a thin layer of sand on the greens, but it didn't affect our putting. There was plenty of sand in the traps I visited so no complaints there. The grass on some of the tee boxes was a little long, but again, didn't affect play.

I'm finding that the more I play this course, the more I like it. Course knowledge makes for a more enjoyable round. One of the things I like about the layout is the variety in length of the par 3's. I played 5 iron, 7 iron, 9 iron and 3 hybrid on the 4 par threes.

I'm looking forward to the completion of the new clubhouse - should be finished around April.

Played Angeles National Golf Club for the first time last week. As the only signiture course by Jack Nicklaus in LA County I was impressed to say the least with the design and layout of the course. The greens were small and mounded as only Jack Nicklaus can create. You have to think about ever shot and course management is a must. A great golf course for all to enjoy. The service I recieved from the staff was 5 stars to go along with its 4.5 star rating from Golf Digest. A must play if your in the L.A area.

Played twilight today 10-11-08. The course is in perfect shape right now. Everything looks and plays great - tee boxes, fairways are nice and tight, greens rolling about 11 and smooth. I'm not sure I have ever seen this course in better shape and I've been playing out here since it opened. The service always is good, and the new GPS keeps the pace of play fast and even (as long as players remember to avoid going into the hazard areas looking for balls).

overall the course is playing very well as usual, but the heat this summer has taken its toll on the fairways and especially the rough. there is no rough to speak of and there are many patchy spots within it as well. it does make the course easier to play. i did like the fact the greens have sped up. they were playing very slow a month ago and probably kept shaggy because of the heat, but now are back to their normal speed which is fast!

Tee boxes and fairways are in very good shape and the greens are smooth and running on the fast side. This is a very good time to come out here.

Played twilight 9/15 b-day round. Teed off at 2:40pm with Nickesquire1. This is a great golf course. Perfect lies in the fairways and what rough they have bordering the fairways is not that penal. I was in the bunkers 3 times today and had perfect lies every time. Sand is high quality. The tee boxes were level for the most part and were lush in most areas. The greens here are great. Very true greens which I love(not that many ballmarks)...I guess I was fortunate today first time playing this course and only one 3 putt. I felt the greens were medium to quick speed and what I was told by another GK'er is that he has seen them much faster. The pace of play was great we finished with carts in 4 hours 15 minutes. They do not allow walkers here. The course itself is located just off the 210 freeway but I have to say that I did not feel like I was by a freeway or houses the whole day. Very peaceful setting. The staff up front did their best to accomodate us as they were running a tourney in the morning and were very busy(out of carts) when we showed up. They did a great job even though we were off for a tee time a little late. This is a target golf course off of the tee for the most part and has some undulating greens. I thought it was a fair test of golf and just a great course. The b-day special split during the week is a bargain and I will def be back to play a twilight round again during the week. I highly recommend this course!!!

Tee'd off this morning at 7:00 am, and the overall conditions were great. The greens rolled smooth, fairways were nice & clean, and the course offered lush rough throughout the holes. Pace of play was fast. This course is definitely worth playing at least once :)
