I felt well taken care of at Angeles National GC. The fairways alone are in such great shape, they are comparable to some greens I've played on before... so much in fact I felt bad driving my cart onto them. The carts also feature new GPS systems... the list goes on. This course is definitely a challenge, and a must for any avid golfer.

I played this weekend. It took only 20 minutes from Sherman Oaks. Finally, an Arizona style course in LA with excellent turf condition. This is not a regular Public course. This could be a private membership course. The amazing thing is that I saw SHIGEKI MARUYAMA playing with his family, and heard that he comes there frequently. The cart girls are beautiful, the service is good, and the Speed of Play is decent. You've got to play there. The only negative is that the driving range and the putting green is far from the clubhouse and #1 tee ground.

good golf course if you hit it straight. course in great shape right now, but i think they are going to aerate soon. only thing i didn't like was all the sensitive areas that you're " not supposed to go in". its looks like a river bed to me. so bring plenty of balls if you don't hit'em straight. greens have plenty of undulation and don't hold to good so hit alittle shorter than usual.

Pretty wide and surprisingly easy course, 7100y from the "Nicklaus" tees.

I was surprised at how playable it is. I was expecting more vertical holes. There are almost none. Just a little bit of up and down. The wind can blow pretty well on the course too. There are some pretty good holes with some visual interest, a sunken green on a short par 5 with an 80y bunker on the right is well done.

Good greens though running pretty slow for how low cut they are, very nice fairways, a need to play a couple of times before understanding the lines of play, not too crowded.

I think that the cartpaths are completely unnecessary. The underlying soil of the whole place is a lot like decomposed granite. It would have been a lot nicer I think if the cartpaths were simply groomed out of the soils.

There are a lot of what seem to be specifically planted prickly pear cactus. It's odd because the area outside the course doesn't seem to have much of it.

It's hard to determine what is "environmentally sensitive" out there. You can walk all you want on the wash area outside the course, but sorry, no getting your miss hit balls from the exact same type of areas inside the course property.

I enjoyed Angeles National from beginning to end. It's challenging but genuinely fair. Fairways are generous but are surrounded by lateral hazards that are definitely in play on nearly every shot, making the wide fairways feel narrow if you let your focus wander. Greens are nicely undulating with only one or two showing such severe slopes that you question the intent. The course features an excellent variety of holes, from reachable par 5s to a driveable par 4 to some real tests of length, and some real tests of your short game, too. It's in great shape with near flawless greens right now, though they are quite firm and many just won't hold a shot. It's the kind of course you have to play a few times before you really know where to hit the ball, but it's also the kind of course that you don't mind coming back to and learning. I hope the green fees stay reasonable, but something tells me this one will be $135 or more once the clubhouse is built. Go soon. It's a good test of golf.

Great Course!! As people have stated earlier bring plenty of balls if you have trouble keeping it straight. Greens are fast but true and the course was in great shape. Don't get discouraged if you had a rough front nine because holes 11-13 gives you an opportunity to make up a few strokes. Short par 4, Short par 3 and Short par 5. Let's hope the prices remain the same and the course stays in great shape! A welcomed addition to So. Cal Golf.

A great addition to Los Angeles golf. It's beautiful, it's in excellent condition and it's quite challenging. This is a tough track if you don't bring your "A game". The greens are very firm and the fairways are narrow. Service was great and I look forward to playing there again. It'll be even better once the clubhouse is built.

This is a course that eats golf balls for breakfast lunch and dinner! If you can control your distance and accuracy this course is fantastic. If not you will get a chance to empty out the bottom of your golf bag where you keep all your chewed up old balls. Lots of forced carries and waste areas that play as lateral hazards. The course is in great shape with greens that roll true. Nicklaus greens take some getting used to because the ball rolls straight when you think it's going to break near the hole. Keep an eye on the mountains when reading your putts. The ball always wants to break away from the mountains even if the green slopes towards the mountain. The staff is super friendly and the course can give up some low scores for the straight hitter.
