beware, when you get there, there may not be any range balls left, lack of an enclosed range and someone to pick up the balls lead to not range balls. overall the course needs some time to mature, the layout is great and the course is fair to all levels of golfers

I know i just entered a course rating but after reading some of the entries about Angeles National I felt I had to respond. The way the tee boxes are setup for any level of player are perfect. If you think this course is unfair you should head back to the pitch and putt.

Play the course 7/13 was in good shape. I like the front 9, but the back 9 looked like it ran out of space. It was like the tale of two 9 nines, a Country 9 and a Desert 9. The pins where also unfair...on slopes. But diffently a fair test of golf.

My first round here and after reading the prior reviews, I had high expectations.... and was not disappointed. This is a very demanding driving course!!! While the fairways are generous, EVERY hole is a potential for a penalty with missed drive. As expected the greens were firm and not receptive to holding shots, but that will change as the course matures. The greens were true, but not so quick as to be a problem. (Unlike Shinnecock) The staff was fantastic! The only complaint I had was the too frequent messages on the GPS monitor. Once is enough! My suggestion is to play here, from the appropriate tees for your skill level, asthere as several forced carries, and not to expect to score too well the first few times you play here. Just enjoy it!

Great golf course. I enjoyed the layout and experience thoroughly. The conditions were exceptional for a new course. I DON’T think the greens are as nice as Robinson Ranch or Moorpark Country Club but they are very nice. Some of the pin placements are pretty treacherous but in general IMHO they were fair. I think what I like most about the layout was the risk/reward tee ball shots. 17 is a great hole where you can take driver to cut of the corner but risk coming up short into the bunker or pulling long into the water. On some holes, the fairways bottle neck pretty good at about 250 from the blue tees. Was frustrating at first but it makes for a good risk/reward decision. This is a course you need to play a few times before you can expect to score well. I’m looking forward to my next round.

I recently played Angeles National, and all I can say is what a treat it was! The golf course is amazing. I don't know if you can find this type of course so close to the LA area without driving 60+ miles. It has a very scenic backdrop and has a very desert feel. I did play the black tees and it was certainly a challenge. It measured close to 7200 yards and made you hit every club in your bag. It is visually intimidating off the tee box, however, when you reach fairways and greens, it is very fair and there is plenty of room to miss. You can score, but you will be challenged. As far as course conditions, they were impeccable. The tee boxes and fairways are lush. The greens are firm because the new, and are obviously quick, and are very true. The course is relatively flat, not hilly, and no awkward lies. There is no clubhouse yet, but the temporary setup is clean and first class. The staff was very helpful, and the cart service on the course was good. Overall, a wonderful golf experience, and I will tell my friends, and I will be back to Angeles National!

Angeles National Golf Club is an awsome course. The greens here are incredible. I have played many courses in the Southern California and feel that the only course that compares to this course is Valencia Country Club. I would recommened this course to any skill level of golfer. You get a remarkable experience at this course from the employees to the course itself. This course is awsome and I can not wait to get back there and play again
