This is a great course, needs to mature since it is brand new. Greens are very true, but need to soften. Nice to have a desert style course here in the LA area now. Green frees are affordable and worth it. Twightlight is great durning the summer time.

Angeles National is off the 118 fwy, and you hear it, I found it a very ugly course, they tell you to stay out of the natural area and take a stroke, very narrow farways, with no chance to make a recovery shot, as you can see, I did not enjoy the course.

This course is a winner. Plenty of challenge for all levels. The greens were firm but smooth. The rest of the course is in great shape. I can't wait to go back.

Played morning of 7-25-04. My first time playing this course. I generally play at PGA Oak Valley, and also favor courses such as La Purisima. The condition of this course is comparable; it is in very good condition. The greens are very firm and fast; the bunkers have the right amount of sand, and the tee boxes are in top condition. But compared to the aforementioned courses, the layout lags far behind. That's understandable; there wasn't a lot of land to work with at this course. You see a lot of other golfers, and there were 3 occasions where we almost were hit with golf balls b/c several tee boxes were just right or left of landing areas for other holes. The course plays slooow; I'm not sure I ever see that improving. When you first arrive, you feel the course is scenic, but you quickly find out that on every hole, it's the same view (and freeway hum). That's okay though, b/c the staff is very, very good. The marshals are friendly and helpful - they station them at the holes that back up to help play pick up - and the cart girls...well, they were STUNNING (go see for yourself). The general manager should get credit for the level of service. A good course that's in good shape, but not on the level of the other courses I mentioned.

Have been visiting SoCal every six months for 15 years and playing all sorts of courses. This one is very challenging. Huge greens, many undulations, some agonizing pin placements. A lot of forced carries, and waste areas on both sides of holes, which carry a one-stroke, lateral hazard, penalty. But there is enough landing area, in general. Beautiful condition, lots of interest, hole variety, etc. Definitely one of the best courses I have played in this area, though maybe not so much fun for those with handicaps over 15. Freeway noise everywhere, but no condos. We will put this course at the high end of our rota, which includes Oak Valley, Rustic Canyon and Malibu, and I encourage all locals to check it out. I think it will be many people's favorite course.

Played twi-light at 3:50 on 7/20. At 6:35 we walked off the 9th green! 2 hrs and 45 minutes for 9 holes is unacceptable. Kudos to the staff for allowing us to go back out and play the front 9, rather than suffer through the agony that was occurring in front of us. We replayed the front 9 in 1hr and 45 minutes. I enjoyed playing the front the second time around, it really does help to have some course knowledge. As everyone else has posted, course was in great shape. Only complaint was that some of the bunkers were on the hard side from apparently too much water. I’ll go back and hopefully get to see the back 9.

This is my second review of this course. I played it for the second time on Sunday, 7/18. Having a little course knowledge from my first round really helped. It's still a little weird not being able to retrieve golf balls in the "environmentally protected" areas. You do have to be accurate off the tees.

I shot an 80 and was very pleased with my round. I showed up as a single and was at the first tee in 15 minutes. It was very hot on the back nine, but what do you expect when you start at 9:00 AM. The greens are in great shape, and I did notice that they seemed to hold second shots a lot better than they did on my first round. All of the messages/notices on the GPS are a little annoying. The staff was very friendly.

I think that a lot of players would benefit from playing this course from the white tees, at least for their first round at this course. Unless you can hit straight drives consistently, several of the holes will be intimidating from the blue tees. I hope that they are able to keep the cost under $100 for weekend play after the clubhouse is built otherwise they will be competing with TPC Valencia which I think is a better track, although currently more expensive.
