Best shape I've ever seen it. But, I don't play there often. New tee boxes are very good, greens are very good. Only complaints were the weather, about 2 inches of rain, played anyway, til SCGA took us off the course, and they didn't open the driving range until about 8 minutes prior to my tee time, 7:00. Poor management on their part. If we pay all the money to play in a qualifying event, management should insure that all aspects of the course are available to participants in a professional manner befitting the SCGA and golf in general.

Played on Saturday afternoon. There is a significant amount of construction going on and several tee boxes are closed. It appears that this will take months, not weeks. The course is playing much shorter. The fairways and greens looked to be in good condition, yet some of the bunkers lack an appropriate amount of sand.

Pace of play was slow. 5-somes all around. Marshalls here are useless.

Played here a couple weeks ago. The wait in between holes is ridiculous and we were in a tournament. We never saw a marshal. Fairways and greens were okay. Not enjoyable round of golf.

The service at this course is the worst I have experienced. They have a rule that if you have a fivesome playing on a weekend everybody in the group has to ride a cart. This is classic price gouging! The starters are also some of the rudest MF's I have ever encountered. My response to anyone considering "Crookside" is " any where but Brookside".

Played here 01-16-06. Went out at 1245 and made to #14 before it got dark. I cannot believe how slow this course was playing. We waited up to 10 minutes in between shots. There wasn't a marshal in sight. Condition wise, the course was OK. Greens were full of ballmarks but the fairways were above average. I will stick with Santa Anita or San Dimas. This place was a joke today.

First of all kudos to Brookside for not using the course for the Rose Bowl game. With all the rain we had it would of destroyed the fairways. I thought the course was in pretty good shape considering the time of year. Ruff was pretty long plus with all the leaves falling, looking for you ball is like looking for a needle in the haystick. Teed off at 3:00 and got 13 holes in-not bad for a Friday.

Grew up playing this course and I always enjoy playing it. The distance is perfect and the condition is descent. The only negative thing about Brookside is the slow pace. Yet, the positive features surpass the negative. I recommend this course to anyone that lives within 30 miles of Pasadena....definitley worth the time...besides, I always thought it was cool that you play three holes right next to the Rose Bowl.

I have enjoyed playing Brookside #1 with my brother-in-law and his friends when I visit LA. The course is very flat especially compared with courses in my part of the country. As a result there are almost no uphill, downhill, or sidehill lies. The most challenging holes for me are those in which a rather wide "wash" runs north to south through the course. It's often difficult as an occasional player at Brookside to judge distances to and over these rather remarkable hazzards, but they are rare and maybe unique on a golf course which makes playing the course not only challenging but fun.
