Went to play today at 1:40, finished at 4:05; not bad for 9 holes in the afternoon. Tee boxes were level and lush with some bare spots from divots. Fairways were well maintained with good lies and no bare spots. The rough was not real long but rough none the less. Bunkers had good sand in them, I didn’t bottom out on any bunker shots (yeah, I was all over the place!). The greens rolled nice and true and we’re not overly fast but a little quick. The holes were not real long, 3148 from the tips. All in all, not a bad way to spend a couple of hours.

Played here for the second time ever last Friday, 11/11 (Nigel Tufnel/Veterans Day). We played early, about 6:30 am on a frigid Fall morning. $26 to walk the 9 holes. We teed off a little before our tee time and played in 1:55.

I did not remember much about the course from my previous visit probably 10 years ago but I had a good time. I had shanked about 25 balls on the driving range the day before but that merely translated to spraying the ball this round. I got a good feel for the rough because of that - it is spotty here. The rough was down in general with some bare spots. The fairways were winter tight. Pretty typical of the local munis right now.

The greens were the highlight. My vague recollection from years ago was of shaggy, slow greens. These were fairly quick, rolled well and had more slopes than I recalled. They were a challenge where some local knowledge would have helped. They were a big plus for me, standing out from the otherwise ordinary conditions.

I enjoyed it and likely will be back sooner than before.

Played here 8/3. Teed off at 3:10 and took about 2:45 to finish. Pretty basic course. No frills. Super pleasant brees. Payed $10 on golfnow. Pace of play here can be brutal. Fivesomes every 10 minutes. But otherwise a no stress nice time. The 4th green has been damaged. Looks like somebody dragged a hoe throught the lengths of it (front to back). It's healing a little bit but I take relief on the other side of it if I found myself on the wrong side of it.

Walked the Blue tees in 2 hours and 20 minutes behind a 5some. We usually finish in just under 2 hours. The course is back to pre-Covid conditions. Ball washers and benches on the tee boxes. Rakes in the bunkers. No pool noodles in the holes. The starter even advised that you could remove the flagstick if you want, but I didn't notice anyone doing so. Fairways, rough, teeboxes and bunkers all in good condition. Greens have recovered from aeration and rolling medium speed. The trench on #4 green has gone from 12 inches wide down to 3 inches.
Customer service is great, as usual.

Snuck out late yesterday with a buddy for a twilight nine at Harbor Park. When you can get in a regulation 36 for $11 on a well-maintained track, it's a steal. And the course is in pretty darn good condition right now, so add that bonus.

Greens are a little thick right now and running at medium speed, but the coverage is good and the lines are true. They hold shots very well and, with the exception of the long verti-cut running the length of the 4th hole green, look and play just fine. What you see is what you get.

Fairways have nice coverage to them right now with the occasional thin areas mostly near the greens, while the rough is thick but playable. Keep an eye out for many tree roots just under the surface if you're near the fringes. Bunkers were avoided all day thankfully because they did not look great. Tee boxes are okay, but not great. Definitely beat up with the heavy traffic.

You can grab a cart here for nine or get a push cart, but most folks just use their feet on this very walkable, but challenging nine holes. If you've never played here, and just want to get in some strokes without a lot of time or cost, then I highly recommend it.

Very hard to call and reserve tee time. Was on hold at least 10 minutes. Gotta say TeeOff call center needs more folks answering phones.

Tee boxes relatively flat and lush.
Fairways in very good shape. Very lush and good coverage. No bare spots seen.
Rough is still thick and sticky.
Bunkers are the worse part of the course. Varying types of sand and some wet and very shallow.
Greens were recently punched with small tines. Should heal in a week. Greens ran a medium/slow speed and very bouncy.

Pace of play was OK. My group was slow but that's what happens when two are relatively new players.

You must call ahead. Reservations only. No walk ons. Face mask required around common areas. Around course you can ditch the mask.

Just play safe. Wear your mask when appropriate. Wash your hands. Keep your distance. Bring you own hand sanitizer and enjoy the day.

Played Monday and my second round since COVID-19 Shelter-in-Place restrictions have been relaxed. It was a long round with a few newbies but still golf. Tees are lush, level, and playable. I like to tee my ball a little low and the grass but cut to around the same height as my teed ball. Fairways had good coverage -- very lush with a nice cushion underneath. Rough cut but not shaggy. you can find your ball but with this type of fescue the ball does sink a little and the grass clippings hide the ball from time to time. Bunkers in decent shape. Around greens they are hard packed but playable. Greens are slow but rolled true with a firmly struck putt. I am talking PGA 1960's slow. Managed to get the pace early on during my round and the greens were fairly consistent. Very little bounciness and held their line well. High shots held well. Covid-19 is enforced here. No Walk-ons allowed. Masks on course required. No ball washers, benches, or rakes on course. Pace of play was slow but that was player's problem. Spacing was 12 minutes per tee time. If you make reservations for a threesome but show up with four they cannot accommodate like they could before. The reason is simple, they group fivesomes and if two more players reserve that tee time they cannot push folks around to make room. They have to maintain their 12 minute spacing. And if there are other tee times that are filled with other players they will not push them back just to accommodate you. If they do then the following groups are pushed back at least 30 minutes. My advice be sure who is coming BEFORE you reserve. Course in decent and very playable shape. Greens slow but easy to read and if you're diligent you can figure out the pace quickly.

Played here yesterday teeing off shortly after 7:00 AM. Immediately I was very pleasantly surprised at how good the fairways are right from the first hole. Lush yet closely mowed and let any ball that found the fairway to roll very decently. Because of my early tee time, there were some wet spots from the sprinklers that hadn't drained, but other than that they were the best I've seen them here in a long time. Greens have fully recovered from any fine hole punching that had been done, and putts rolled smoothly and evenly at a medium speed. I'm glad that the City of L.A. decided to do fine hole punching only this fall, as the greens at both Rancho and Encino, which I played recently, were in an excellent shape also. Luckily I didn't find any bunker, but other than the usual unraked foot prints, the sand looked decent and reasonably playable. Rough overall was a hit and miss, ranging from not difficult to brutal on an inconsistent basis. Thanks to the early tee off, was able to finish the round in little over two hours walking - good for here any day! Other than one grumpy senior in the foursome I was grouped with (another story in itself LOL), the company was great and I thoroughly enjoyed the round. Will be sure to go back soon.
