Played here on Friday 5/23. Overall, very good condition and as others have mentioned, @ $49 weekday, the best deal around.
Very good service inside and out. The only downside for me at this location, which applies when playing either course, is the driving range, and distance to get back and forth to from range / parking lot / pro shop. Given the outstanding nature of the courses, a minimal gripe.
Fairways in good shape, but as I have noticed in the past, many unfilled divots. I put 75% of the blame on the players, as so many of the divots were new. Tough for maintenance to keep up each morning. Otherwise, very nice, not lush but very playable.
Greens were very receptive and even soft at time times. Balls would leave huge marks / divots when hit with a good shot, but easily repaired. Rolling quite nice, but some very tough pin placements. No complaints on condition.
Bunkers I visited were in very good shape. Well maintained, but again a few spots that players left unraked. I don't get it...
One of my favorites overall in the area, prefer Ike if I can get on when booking here, but Babe has redeeming qualities as well. Very tight in spots, so important to be accurate most of the round. Enjoy, cheers!

Out on the Babe for a 1PM shotgun Guest Day outing, PoP was 5hrs. Course holding up well during the heat wave as most fairways had some divots needing sand/seed and a few ball marks on the greens to fix but otherwise in fine shape. Every ball I hit from the fairway and rough was a decent lie, no complaints. Bunkers very dry as expected, but easy to play from. Cart gal got around a lot, thank goodness, must of been mid 90's at least. Ice and water in the cart cooler a very nice touch on a day like today. Reduced rates have been extended again through August, best deal in LA county. Recommended.

Played 5/6 at 9:00 am as a 2-some and the other 2-some never showed up (maybe due to 20% chance of rain??) so we played leisurely sandwiched between 4-somes to our delight. What a nice day of golf with light winds with partly cloudy skies and POP at 4:15. Course was looking and playing very nice and everything starting to look green. Tee box were for the most part nice and level, fairways were good with some brown areas, rough were getting thicker, but the greens need a little bit more time to heal. Greens are very playable but a bit bumpy at times with occasional squirrely puts. A week or two more and a good roll should have them running like a champ. Unfortunately, it was a little bit slow for my taste as I like them rolling medium fast.

Overall the course is looking pretty good and it should get better with each passing week. I ended up making par on all the par-3s, including the monster long par-3 as it was "ONLY" playing 230ish yards today from the blues. I don't know about the rest of you but I feel that the front 9 on the Babe is the most difficult 9-hole of this 36-hole facility. The back-9 gets a little easier as it opens up a bit but that front 9 had my butt kicked when I missed the fairway. I kept on hitting those d%mn over-hanging tall palm trees that seems to always "lean" in the direction of my approach shots, slapping my ball away from the green. I swear those palm trees moved, but I digress... But get out and play this course and take advantage of the special they have going on the Babe course.

Played the Babe this morning, got around in 4:30 for $44, member rate. Found the course in real good condition, tee to green. Some fairway aeration going on but otherwise real nice. Some bumps on the greens remain from aeration, very minor though. Some divots need to get filled up and a few pitch marks that didn't get repaired were my only complaint. Recommended.

Played Tuesday 4/22. Excellent layout, beautiful course, but I was let down by the slow healing greens and non player friendly staff. Was the staff rude to us? that's not what I mean, the pro-shop staff was friendly enough, but what I mean is we were 45 minutes before are starting time, we were ready to go out and they told us to come back 10 minutes before are starting time. Can we have a cart to go get are clubs and drive to the range? Nope. They don't do that there, he will assign one to us 10 minutes before check in. The putting green is right next to the #1 hole. Only one twosome went off the whole time, during the 25 minutes we waited for are time. Worse, after we get are cart, there now is two foursomes on the T, and we are joined by a twosome. That's good, but we get on the course one player was a good player and the other is very new to the game and had no business playing from the blues. Seems this hassle would have been better for every body if they would have let us out early.
Greens were bumpy and appear to be slow to heal, from recent aeration, most noticeable on long putts, very good design though.
T's and rough were in good shape.
Fairways were mostly very good, but had plenty of unrepaired divot damage in some popular landing areas.
The sand trap, I was in, was moist, firm and not raked.
I cannot think of another course, that requires you to place your drives in such a precise area, maybe Pala Mesa, I remember this from the last time I played here, what I didn't remember is you better hit a precise part of the green, or you may have an impossible putt.
Golf carts are in excellent shape with state of the art GPS, use the fly over feature, for useful pointers on where to land.
Would love to play this course again when greens are fully healed, but I would rather play at one of my favorites in the IE, Oak Quarry, Goose Creek for the money and enjoy a more player friendly attitude.

The tee boxes were a little beat up on the front side but were in better shape on the back side.The fairways were a bit thin but in pretty good shape.The greens were a bit bumpy but you could expect that in the afternoon.My wife loved the course and she was surprised with all the nice lakes,lush gardens and beautiful waterfalls on the course.Have fun.

took advantage of their promo rates of $49. course condition was great. there was 1 green with a section that shows signs of being repaired, other than that greens were smooth and really nice. You can still see signs of the aeration being done a few weeks ago but does not affect the roll.
bunkers were a bit thin. had a few where there was hardly any sand in them.
staff was friendly although there was an incident that was not addressed (which is another topic of discussion).
pace was decent but could have been better. marshall was none existent today.

overall a nice course and with the promo rates, well worth it.

Played Friday, 3/21/14, super value $44 for members, $49 non-members. Greens have been punched and need another week or two. After that, the course will be in great shape, other than some rocks in bunkers (#1 fairway, for example) which is uncharacteristic of IH. Someone must have slipped them a bad load of sand. Fairways real full and lush. Rough deep and penal at times, so beware. Still narrow and not for the average duffer.

What happened to all the SoCal posts today? A little rain scare everyone away? Played the Babe in between some drizzle, no problems. The only thing maintained today was the greens, rolling slow and holding everything LOL. Actually, the Babe drains well during a rainstorm with only a few areas of standing water. Had fun playing a Mr. Blue vs. Mr. White match. Will come back next week after things dry out.
