Babe looks like Rihanna after Chris Brown worked her over - beat up. The fairways have lots of unfilled divots AND/OR numerous bare spots. Maintenance has been putting lots of water on it hoping that may be the solution. As a result, you'll frequently have clumps of mud on your ball. It hasn't been hot enough to blame the weather for the course condition. The course reflects the fact that with lower greens fees for the month of August, it'll attract all the golfers who have no respect for the it, i.e., they don't fill divots, don't fix ball marks on the greens, etc. Babe is tough enough without being in mediocre shape. They have the new GPS a la Eagle Glen. Carts are "managed" to shut down if you drive them where you shouldn't (a good thing) and to slow down on grades (whether you need to or not). Still like Ike better, but Babe will assuredly test your mettle.

Tight fairways and tricky greens make it an adventure for the golfer in need of a challenge. Get out there soon before the $44 deal is dunzo. At $44 it's just the best value in SoCal right now outside the 100* Palm Springs courses. That being said, the conditions have really suffered with the added traffic. Still in great shape though. Greens, fairways tee boxes and traps...all just top notch. Really nice.

I've always preferred the "ike" to the "babe". Have not played this course since 2004. I was impressed with the overall conditioning and how nicely the course has matured. When playing near the "tips" this course is very demanding and I found it was very easy to get "out of position" with anything less than a perfect tee shot. Made for some tough approach shots.

Had a good time, despite not shooting too well. 5+ hours was not fun, but didn't seem as bad as a 5 hour round normally feels. Still prefer the "Ike"

Played on 8/4/2013 in tournament. I have played this course many times in the past, especially long ago when it was cart path only and at the end of the round you would always be dragging due to the numerous walks back and forth to the cart, and if you got to your ball and realized "Oh no, I don't have enough club" back to the cart you go. So our tourney was great as always and the conditions, I agree with the most recent reviews, the only negative was the fairways were a bit mushy in places and around the green aprons. I love the new GPS system, except it shuts off when you are too close to the greens, (20 yards?) it shut off on us many times when we were 40 to 50 yards away. Need to fix that, at least a warning and full power to get back to the happy zone. My only gripes, mushy fairways and the cart shutting off too aggressively. It wasn't a great scoring day for me, an off day, but I had fun with my buddies. Weather was great, hope it stays like this through August !

Played Saturday 10/3 at 10:40am tee time from WHITE Tee boxes with Sixpex, Eaglee and Tobster. First time playing the course and I found that for the majority of the time I was uncomfortable with the visual. as a 20hc I found this to be one of the more challenging courses I have played. Both the slope and the GK index are underrated.

Fairways - found most overwatered and mushy
Greens - pretty smooth and rolled well, not a ton of break compared to other courses. Probably medium speed.
Rough - wet and thick mostly, not overly punishing, but you better not lose your focus.

With their current promotion - $54 anytime on weekend it is well worth the green fees, if you are fortunate to play on a clear day you will be rewarded with some fantastic views.

Played here yesterday as part of a GK Match Play. It was the first time I've ever played here and will most likely be the last. As a woman, this course doesn't set up well for me. The already narrow fairways have random trees in the middle of the fairway that you have to avoid. Target golf is not my strong point! The fairways were also over-watered. Very mushy in a lot of places. Greens and tee boxes were in good shape. Overall, the course is beautiful and the folks that I played with did fine but like I said, as a woman playing the forward tees, this isn't a good course for me. If I do decide to play here again (since the price is so good), I'll most likely play from the whites to take the fairway trees out of play.

Played here today with GKers Tobster, bsparks1961 and Eaglee. Though the course kicked our butts, we had fun out there. 10:40 tee time with the $54 special they have running through August. Tough to beat that deal for a weekend round here. Not as crowded as I've encountered here before. We teed off on time. We never really pushed the group ahead of us and the group behind us only caught up once, so we were able to enjoy our own relaxed pace of about 4.5 hours. Though in good shape by most standards, I was a little disappointed in the course today by Industry Hills standards. It wasn't nearly as pristine as previous visits last year, so I guess the current price special goes hand-in-hand with that as it's definitely not a $100 course right now in my opinion. Still, it was in pretty good shape. Tee boxes were good. Fairways were mostly nice and green, but we did encounter a lot of mushy damp/soft areas that resulted in some ugly fat shots. Then there were some thin/firm areas, too. The rough was mostly good from what I encountered, but some patchy spots here and there. The greens were looking and rolling pretty good with a handful of unrepaired marks on most greens I tried to fix up. They were very soft and receptive. I didn't really notice any aeration as previous posters mentioned and most putts rolled pretty smoothly, but I did clear away some sand and small pebbles from a few greens. That looked to be more splash-out from the bunkers than any sort of top dressing. Bunkers were full of wonderful fluffy white sand as usual, but did notice plenty of small rocks in the couple I was in. With the deal they have going on now, it's a nice time to play this fun and challenging course for a reasonable rate. If this were the first time I had played there, I wouldn't have been as blown away (which was the case when I played there last year and encountered immaculate conditions). I'd say if you've played here before and have been wanting to come back, now is a good time to take advantage of the deal. If you've never played here before, I'd say wait until the Babe is in super duper great condition and you will appreciate her more, even if it costs a few extra bucks. It's a tight, tough layout—don't let the lack of total yardage fool you—and still one of my favorites in LA County, even though there's no such thing as a "comfortable" shot anywhere on the course! I guess I'm a bit of a golf sadist for liking this crazy Babe so much!

Played 7/29 with fellow GKers Buckeye_Nut, kviser, and rgm2525. We were second group off at 6:00am for $44 included cart (probably one of the best deals I've seen anywhere to be honest). The course was in very good shape. Greens were very receptive and quite quick. They were just beginning to punch with small holes as we were playing but it didn't affect the roll at all. Fairways were solid but a bit on the soggy side. I took a number of massive divots and clubs just tended to cut right through the turf. Rough was typical kikuyu nastiness (avoid at all costs!). Tee boxes were a bit chewed up in places but you could still find nice stuff to hit off of. The one bunker I was in was spectacular and IH has the best sand I've played in all year.

All told this round was excellent value with some awesome playing partners!
