pace of play not very good,waited on almost every shot. course is in ok shape. greens alittle slow and bumpy, fairways pretty thin, tee boxes need some work. i guess its because its an LACO course.

Played 7/5. Course was packed. FYI, July is Junior Golfer Month, and juniors play for a dollar at L.A. County Golf Courses with a paying adult after three. Course was in standard shape, fairways decent, greens good, but slow, rough, tee boxes and traps all okay. It's always going to be slow here, teed off about 3:20, got 14 holes in before dark. Many times, two and three groups on tees waiting. But, it's also expected. Played with my son, can't ever complain.

The greens are coming back from the aeration but are still a little slower than normal. Playing on 7/4/ had a 8:00 tee time and got out early @ 7:30 not to many people there but it was still a 5 hour ... Continue »

The greens on the back nine were aerated first and have come back well, the front side should also be there by next weekend. The rest of the course is in good shape. Stay out of the bunkers the sand is soft and saw five balls pluged during this round. Tee boxes could be a little more level in spots.

Greens had been aerated on Monday which is why the greens were so bad. In a couple of weeks they should be in good condition and would be worth the price. The starters are always very nice. The worst thing about Lakewood is that they are usually late in getting you off and it takes 5 to 51/2 hours to play.
