Greens still getting over aerating, looks like they are doing them one half at a time. Rest of the course was immaculate.
Played Sat. 3/28 in my club's monthly tournament. Course was in good shape except for the greens which have not come all the way back from recent aeration. Rough was thick as usual.
Played Saturday 11/23, had a 930 tee time, teed off over 30 minutes late. Very slow round, as usual, greens were in great shape, fairways and traps okay, tee boxes sub par. It's what you expect for an LA County course in terms of condition and pace of play.
Played 7/18. Tried to walk on as a single, took well over an hour, got there at 7:45 did not get out until after 9. Saw a threesome go out around 8:15, when I finally asked about it, was put out right away. Course was in horrible shape, lots of dirt on the fairways and tee boxes, no sand in the traps, took way to long, was only on 15 after 2PM had to walk off. Reminded as to why i never play there, even though it's my closest course, way to overated, views are not worth it.
Played Sunday 7/1, walked on at 6:10AM no problem. Course was saturated with water, fairways and bunkers very wet. Fairways were in very poor shape, lots of dirt, and probably because of conditions were not mowed well. Tee boxes also in bad shape. Greens however were very nice, smooth, receptive, a little slow, really looked good. Slow round due to my playing partners playing so slow, at least three of them, the woman in the cart with me was great. If you are going to walk, you need to learn where to place your bag so you are not going back for it, but always moving forward, plus hurry up, you are slowing the rounds for everyone behind you for the rest of the day, we ended up two holes behind by 13th hole, I was embarrassed, and apologize to everyone playing behind us.
Punched and sanded front nine greens, could have done without that on Father's Day, since they just did it that weekend, but again, got a 8AM tee time on the Thursday before, so... Course is in okay shape, fairways are drying out some, tee boxes too fluffy, way to much crab grass. Back nine greens were nice though. Got out a little early, which is unheard of at Chester Watchyourclubs, and pace was okay. Playing with your sons on Fathers day makes up for any course issues though, had a great time, and shot lowest round in months.
Played on 6/10 final day of my club's Championship. A tough course, lots of OB due to houses lining holes. Fair amount of water, and lots of bunkers, only issue were bunkers were more dirt than sand.
Played in my club's Championship weekned, played this course Saturday 6/9. Course is immaculate, and very tough, played from the back tees, over 7K yards, lots of water, bunkers, OB, but in really great shape
Had a 6:28 tee time Sunday, May 20th. Waited in line past my tee time, no urgency from the starter, though he did allow "friends" to cut the line. Got stuck behind them and by the middle of the front nine they were a hole behind. No marshall to be seen until the 10th green, and when we complained they sped up for about two holes and then back to at least a hold behind. Waited on every shot, still played in just over 4.5 hours, but doesn't the marshall know how this impacts the entire course for the entire day??? Should have been done in well under 4 hours.
Played on 1/1. Greens were great, very fast. The fairways and tee boxes were bare in spots. The sand traps were dirt, not sand. Tough course if you have never played. Lots of doglegs and elevation changes. Great GPS system.
Played Saturday 11/26. Had an 8:50 tee time, did not tee off until 9:40. They do not maintain this course very well. Many bare spots, and many areas just soaked like a swamp. It has some interesting holes though, lots of dog legs. 40.00 on a weekend with a cart is a very good deal, but you get what you pay for.
