Went down to Santa Anita as a single sometime after 2:00pm and had no trouble getting off second up with a twosome -- of a couple of middle aged women who were pleasant company and could play. We were behind a five-some and while it obviously wasn't a quick pace, I can't say we were really held up too much. It was a little slow but steady -- probably about a five hour round.

As municipal courses go, it's one of my favorites and I hadn't been on it for a while. I thought the tee boxes on the whole were above standard. Good coverage and generally flat. The fairways were generally in pretty good shape with an occasional patch on the thin side. Nothing brown. The greens were in decent shape and probably the quicker side of medium pace although not especially quick. Otherwise, there were a surprising number of unrepaired ball marks. One tries to repair a few on each green as one goes along, but the point has been made enough times that it's not worth getting worked up over. You can always repair the marks in the line of your putt so you get on with it.

Pleasant company, a decent score that, while not great, was an improvement on my game of late, $19.50 to walk, and done just around sunset.

Walked on right to the 1st tee. Didn't catch up with anyone until the 7th hole, then pace of play slowed down considerably. Still finished in a little over 4 hours. First time i played here and was very impressed. What makes this course unique over the many municipal courses is the elevated greens, bunkering and pin placements. At least today there was many sucker pins making the ability to shape approach shots a must to score well. No refreshment cart ever came by but the snack shop is reasonably priced.

Don't play here if you want fast pace. Lots of people will be walking. Stater "Ed" is very nice guy and people at the coffer shop are also all nice. Very pleasent course.

Played Friday the 4th of August. Walked on as single and gut out in about 1/2 Hr. Played with two older women that had game and new how to play ready golf. finished in about 4 hrs. Course is in great shape for the amount of play, but I hate 18. Unless you can hit the ball 250 you can't clear the mounds.

Played the course on Sunday....and it was slow, about 5 1/2 hours.

Liked the course for the most part. I thought the fairway grass was a bit long making for fluffy lies that you really had to pic off the grass. It was fun to play, lot's of different lies on the undulating fairway's. I will play it again but only on a weekday.

Overall, excellent value and a great community course.

Haven't play here in awhile. Finished in 4 hours on Friday. Greens are bumpy but fast. Can't wait to play after they punch the greens. It is going to be great. This is a great public course.
