I will go back and play this course again. A definite replay for me I dont know what the green fees were my partner payed I think he said it was 61.00 not bad for a weekend with a cart.. This is a players course ..

Played today, took about 5 hours. Not bad for a Saturday. The pace was so slow because of foursome in front of us. Rode in 3 carts and two women in group took-(I had time to watch them several times)at least five practice swings prior to each shot. NEVER saw a Course Marshall, even once. But, great beer girl. Came by 5 times. Oh, Well, course in good condition. Alot of roll and fairways in good condition. Tough fast greens, but if you putt smart they can be conquered.

Boy I completely forgot about the Long Beach Golf Festival. What a mess. If you want a 6 hour round by all means play during the festival. Course in great shape. Rough especially thick and nasty. ... Continue »

Greens rolling very true. Great sand almost slicing though air. Not sure if I would pay that much during the morning but as a resident what can you do if you can play an hour before twighlight at twighlight rates? New spiffy range meter is very handy but low on the advise.

Greens are in good shape for muni. Fairway is growing in nicely. Not much bad to say about course but not my preference especially with price they ask (37.50 twighlight resident fee). Still fun lit... Continue »

Greens are in good shape for muni. Fairway is growing in nicely. Not much bad to say about course but not my preference especially with price they ask (37.50 twighlight resident fee). Still fun little course with loads of trouble if you're not careful. A few of the par 5 are reachable in two with right wind conditions like yesterday.

Played here twice this week....Wed. and Sunday. Boy what a difference in the greens in just 4-5 days. On Wed. the greens were wonderful, hardly any ballmarks, etc, however today...WOW, a lot of unrepaired ballmarks and tons of spike marks and scuffs. I do not know if people are just plain ole inconsiderate or what! What a shame, this course has fun undulating greens and challenges your putting skills but the unrepaired divots, ball marks has always been a problem with this course. They should get the Marshalls also repairing greens in between groups. I have seen this done on some of the other courses in the past.

First time back since renovation. Was suprised that the changes were not more dramatic. Pace was good, but not sure if it was due to the price increase or because it was Mother's Day. The biggest improvements were the tee boxes. The sand was very mushy. The course really doesn't look that different. Read the Surveyor Report, it's as true today as it was when written.

Played saturday 5/13. This was my first time back to Skylinks in the about a year. First the good - the golf shop, range, range balls, coffee shop are pretty nice by muni standards. As for the course, the tee boxes were in mostly excellent shape, and the greens while not exactly receptive are much improved over the concrete like feel they had about a year ago, and I also didn't notice so many unrepaired ball marks. I also found them to be very puttable, I know my playing partners and I dropped a couple from distance which makes the game a lot of fun. There were some negatives however - 1. the sand traps have way too much sand in them, fried eggs are the norm if you plop one in. Many traps had the consistency of mushy oatmeal. 2. While if you catch a good lie in the fairway, its really a nice lie on the bermuda here, but too often, you find yourself in old divots, and good luck there with the super tight thin lie you get left with. Overall, its not a great value at $51 compared to the cheaper price you get at rec park and elodorado, but it does some fun holes. I wouldn't put this course in my regular rotation, but its worth playing every now and again.

I Played on April 23rd. This was the first time I've played the course since the renovation. I used to play this course on a weekly basis back in High School and it seems to me that, except for a few hole configurations changes, the course is relatively the same; decent greens and dried out fairways. The pace of play on Sunday was very good, but I believe it is because the green fees are too high for this type of course

All in all, Skylinks is a nice track and once the green fees fall in line with some of the other, and better, Long Beach courses, it will be looked upon as a must play.

Fairways are really hard and dry. Aeration is complete, but greens has many divots in them. People that play this course do not fix their divots
