Tee box and greens were in pretty good shape. Surprisingly I didn't see much unrepaired greens today. Maybe the fact that the started reminded us to fix ball marks and rack the bunkers before sending us out! Wow! this is the first time I have ever heard a course actually do this. GREAT thing to do as most golfers (except maybe GKers) seem to have forgotten how to take care of the golf course. Bunkers were thin. Rough was mostly bare ground or patches of grass.

This is one American Golf course that their marshalls actually do their jobs. A marshall drove to us and told us if the group in front was holding us back to call the proshop and he will take care of it! That really made my day! Guess what, we finished in a little over 3 hours on a weekend afternoon! Impressive!

Again, conditions are not that great but if the marshalls are like this all the time, I would not have any problems coming back here on a regular basis. For the price we paid, it was a great experience and worth the green fee.

Played the front 18 this morning with three others from the Valencia Fairways West and a 9:26am tee time. Using my "Par 55" card, a round of 18 holes cost $12.50 (walking), and that's exactly what the 4 of us did this morning. Walk. Beautifull morning, slightly cloudy with a cool breeze and you couldn't ask for a better morning. Tee boxes and greens were in great condition, fairways are simply showing their "winter" conditions at this point in time, and the sand traps are simply lacking a good layer of sand. So, stay away from the sand traps :) Everyone was moving along well with their golf and it took us about 4 hours to play 18 holes today. Again, had a great time and looking forward to playing again next Friday morning...

Played on a Thursday. Golf Now time at $16 with cart. About the price of a bucket of balls and an outstanding value at that price. This course is in typical winter muni conditions. Dormant fairways but playable. Greens are somewhat decent but noticeable unrepaired ball marks. Live close to this course and i have always enjoyed the layout, lots of interesting holes with elevation changes, well protected greens and generous fairways. Mostly par 3's but you will use all clubs in the bag as they range from 75yrds to 210yrds. Best executive course around and you will play in under 3 hours during the week, when busy its about 4 hours. Played recently on a weekend via a back 9 GN special for $13. played multiple balls, vary few people at this time in the morning as i had the place to myself. Great practice time. I am so glad i live close to this course and will continue to play often. you can get value out of this course, just dont pay full rate on a weekend in the middle of the day as you will disappointed.

Pro shop & starter customer service a bit lacking, but the course was in decent shape. Got out 30 min late with a 7:45 tee time. POP a bit over 4 hrs. Ranger came around 4-5 times with water & cups. The course...dormant fairways with lots of roll that still yielded decent lies. Some bare spots, but playable. Most tee boxes were chewed up, BUT they were rebuilding many of the boxes and they should be in good shape shortly. Traps were poor, lots of rocks & not much sand. The greens were far and above the best part of the course. They were rolling fast and fairly smooth. Not a bad deal with a Sunday $25 walking rate.

I hate the fact I seem to be the only one posting ratings and reviews for this course. I know it's nothing special, but good deals can be had and I have been playing this course since I picked up sticks more than 30 years ago. Played here again with Tony and George from Meetup.com; Tony had a discounted online tee time and we took advantage of some cheap golf ($21 to ride). The starter at the first tee hawked us $5 flags to show support for Breast Cancer Awareness; we bought two and set them at the end of the row of pink flags lining the cart path. All/most of the pins had names of survivors on them, so I guess it's a good thing to show support, right? Slow foursome ahead of us made for a 4+ hour round. All the blue tees were set as far back as possible, sometimes leaving an uneven stance at the back of the tee box. Lots of divots on many of the tees (there are 11 par three holes). Fairways and rough were decent, but the greens were bumpy and medium slow; still showing signs of recent aerification. The bunkers had crappy sand: brown, dusty, and crusty (except for the trap in front of 11 green which was extremely wet, hard packed, and had a small puddle in it, including goose crap and goose footprints. My bad for finding three bunkers today. I enjoyed the company and it was a great day to golf.

Played again recently on a Saturday afternoon with Tony and Chuck, fellow GKers. After 3:00 p.m. it is $14.50 with a cart, $9.50 walking. So price point was spot on. Expect a little crowd at this hour; maybe even try to be first out at this rate because it does start off slow for the first three holes. Today, the greens were a little on the slow side, bumpy, and grainy. I repaired many ball marks on most greens. Sand in the few bunkers that I found was really crusty, brown, and dusty. Tees were okay, except for a lot of divots on the par threes, of which there are 11 as this is an executive size course. All in all, it was fine for the price we paid and the three of us had a decent time with a couple of guys they placed with us. POP as a fivesome, me walking, about 3:15.

Conditions have improved since I last posted about this executive size (par 60) course run by American Golf. Had a 3:13 tee time with a couple of fellow GKers. We got out at 3:30 behind several slow groups, which is normal for this course. POP was around 4:15. Greens were much improved, medium fast to fast, and soft. There were many unrepaired ball marks, but I guess the group, or groups, in front of us were not fixers. You could tell by the tee shirts. I thought the course was requiring collared shirts as of a few years ago. Oh, well, whatever. I don't care. The fairways and rough were very good; nicely cut with good lies most everywhere. Some areas of the fairways had several unfilled divots; however, there are only 7 fairways, the rest are par 3's. The tees were a little beat up and many of them were under repair, with the three markers placed right next to each other. The tees on the really short par 3's (5, 12, and 13) were particularly bad for unfilled divots. Overall, it was a great use of $20 on a Friday afternoon; good times with Chuck and Tony.

Played today (holiday rates) with fellow GKer, tonybarrett. The course is beat up from tee to green. Most tee boxes are not level and it appears the markers have not been moved for at least a couple of days. The fairways and rough are dormant, brown, and tight. Sand was dull brown, dusty, and thin. The greens were semi-firm, medium fast, and mostly smooth despite the numerous ball marks. Hole 17, the island green, was in terrible shape with a lot of unrepaired ball marks and a large area through the middle of the green that was damaged, possibly from fungus. There was a light top dressing of sand there. It still rolled okay, though. Pace of play was almost unbearable most of the day, with the round taking about 4.5 hours. Really, I only come here when there is a discount. Today was $21 to ride.

Played today with tonybarrett and another guy from Meetup.com, Norman, in wintry conditions. It was drizzly rain to start, temps hovering below 50 degrees. The recent weather has left this course wet and, in some spots, saturated. The tees were mostly beat down; unlevel, with divots like they haven't moved the tees in a while. All the fairways were dormant bermuda with some green grasses growing in spots. Lots of divots in the fairways as well. Greens were just okay, rolling medium speed and just a little bumpy in some places. Nice thing about the weather is it kept most people off the course; however we still got behind several slow groups after eight holes, finishing this executive course in 3:45 hrs. Not terrible for $29 walking, though. I wouldn't drive too far for this course. Conditions have never been great here, and it was not any different today. Maybe when the weather warms up it will get better.
