This is my quick fix course. 9 short holes, I get in, I get out, nobody gets hurt.

Greens are in decent shape. No one fixes their divots but the greens themselves aside from a little bumpiness do run true. Bunkers are in OK shape, hardpacked and easy to hit from. Fairways in decent shape. Tee boxes here are completely uneven. You will have to take a few steps back from the tee to find yourself someplace flat to hit from.

Pace of play was an OK under 2 hour round. Not bad considering we were behind a 4 some of kids playing. They were fast. My group was hitting two balls per player except myself.

Play here again? Of course. This place offers a range and a decent value for playing here on their monthly all you can play deal. Pays for itself in 7 rounds. Not bad.

I was literally all by my lonesome here today. The closest group was a twosome around 4 holes behind me. Apparently an event just ended that took up the whole course and I had full run of the place.

Greens are in decent shape, fast to medium in speed and rolled fairly true. They feel spongy and receptive but you get a decent roll. The speed of the practice green does not match the greens on the course. I would say the speed on the practice green is faster than the greens on the course.

Fairways have good coverage. Rough is thick with various kinds of fescue. Sand in bunkers is typical hard packed.

I enjoy this course because while it is crowded the longest a round of 9 holes can take is approximately 2 hours. Me, I finished playing 2 balls in an hour. Could have finished faster but I took my time.

For me, this course offers a lot of what big courses offer but with a time constraint it fits most folks busy schedules. Also they have an all you can play option monthly and can be pretty economical if only to bite that golf itch.

Would I play here again? Sure. It's a fun course. It plays fast. And more importantly gives a golfer confidence with their short game. For me it beats hitting the ball at the range any day.

I journeyed over to El Segundo from the the East side of town to play at The Lakes because my old rugby club was having a little fundraiser outing there on Saturday around 11-ish. Personally, I flat out would not normally play here for the 6 holes of par three and a couple of par 4s for $18 on a weekend even if I was much closer. For that matter, $15 on a weekday either. For a bit more money I'd rollover to Westchester for pretty decent 18 of executive, or down to Penmar for a more expansive nine. But the dollar value and my inner tightwad not withstanding, the course is in good shape and it may suit other's requirements better than mine. I noticed very few people on the course when I was arriving, and our outing (6 groups) seemed to be the only thing going on until some two-somes and singles started to catch up with us around the fifth hole. So despite some earlier reviews mentioning pace of play issues, I'd say it looked pretty open for that particular Saturday—before and after our group, anyway. Some tee boxes were a less than level, but nothing severe. The coverage on them was generally very good—surprisingly, given all the iron play. The two fairways (par 4s) had decent coverage and while a bit uneven in spots, provided a good playing surface. The area between tee and green on the par 3s was generally like the fairways and where it was rough, was fairly lush. I wasn't in a bunker, but they seemed OK—I honestly didn't pay close attention to them. The greens were the mainstay and the highlight. They tended to be large, quicker than I would have expected, and complicated with some slope and/or subtle undulations. They had me frustrated in that I had more 3 (and a 4) putts in those nine than I usually ever have in 18 on a "real" course. So for short game purposes, it will definitely challenge you. I would rather have a little golf than no golf, and I was there for a good cause, so I enjoyed myself. It was an appropriate venue for the event because many of the group were barely recreational golfers and it made for an inclusive atmosphere. The bar/restaurant has a nice outside patio and there is a good driving range facility. The practice green was consistent with the course. So all that is good. They have some good teachers there and my teaching pro, Josh Alpert works out of there. If I, or my wife, need a lesson, we will still drive all the way over from Altadena to get it from Josh. For El Segundo locals, they have residents rates on green fees and some other specials. So sift through all this and see if there is anything to your liking.

Played last week. I like playing here as it is about 10 degrees cooler than the SFV. Also with the course only being 9 holes, it's also a great place to practice your short game. The only issue I have here is that pace of play can get quite slow if you have a tee time later on in the day. We had a tee time around 9 am on a Saturday and it only took about 2 hours to play 9. I've been here before with a a mid morning tee time and it can take about 2 1/2 - 3 hours to play 9.

Course conditions were fair for this time of year. There were dry spots on the fairway as well as muddy spots too as soon spots were over watered. Course is walking only. There's just this one hill to go up on hole #4. Greens were fair. Can't comment on the sand as I didn't land in one this time.

The driving range costs were kind of expensive. I got a small bucket and it was $6.50 (about 32 balls). I think the large bucket was around $10. At least the balls were in good shape. I like that they have a practice area where you can practice chipping plus you can get bunker practice too.

Depending on the way the winds blows, the air can get quite stinky here as it was when we played last week. There's a refinery nearby.

Pace of Play was horrific. Finally just skipped hole to get past a fivesome. Not their fault their were five and we were only two. After that pace picked up considerably.

Course is still a great place to get that golf fix satisfied. Play here again? I always do when I feel the urge but have little time. Range has decent balls. They have a monthly deal $75/month and it's all you can play during the week. Not a bad deal. Twilight is around $10 to play (after 5pm). With the summer hours and the sun still up after 7pm.... it's a decent deal for golf.

Needed to play golf two days ago and I always find myself here to fix that need for golf. Finished in under 2 hours for the 9 holes.

Almost hit from tee box on 4 while I was on green of 5. They trimmed the trees that line that part of the 4th fairway. Tee boxes are uneven. Fairways OK lush but thin in some spots. Greens are always in good shape here. They roll faster than they feel and look.

Great to nurse the golf fix. Also two large sporting good stores in area (including a Golfsmith down Rosecrans Ave.). I play here all the time and always walk on. Place is well run.

Only carry my hybrid and a few clubs with me. You don't need a full bag since the round is so short.

Easy course to get on considering the amount of play this course gets early AM and afternoon. Went out today early and played with a threesome. Greens play faster than they look. Loads of undulations so mind where you position your ball. Fairways are in good shape as is the rough which is thick and sticky. Bunkers are stocked well with sand. Problem here are the Tee Boxes; very few flat lies. Most of the time you're playing on some mound.

Pace of Play good.. finished 9 holes on this executive course in under and hour 30 minutes. I like playing here. You can practice your short game and various distances under 150 yards. Greens also play quick so it's always a challenge to make par here. I recommend playing here to all my buddies if you're looking to get that golf itch scratched.

Only problem that I had was the tee boxes were chewed up badly, looked like they had been left in the same place for the past week. No place where the markers were had any grass, just dug up dirt. Greens were fast and fun.

This is a great course for a quick 9 or for someone new to the game. For a tiny course the greens are huge. They roll well and are fast if putting downhill or towards Sepulveda Blvd. Tee boxes are very uneven. However, you don't need driver so no biggie. I overheard that the range may open soon. Putting green is in great shape.
