Played here on 4-10. Started thirty minutes late, but I guess not bad for a Saturday. Front nine took 2 1/2 hours, but back nine was 3 1/2 hours....why does it take 6 hours to play this place? I realize this is a muni course, but I remember it always being in better shape than it is now. Fairways have tons of big weed/crabgrass mounds all over the place. With all the play LV gets, one would think the revenue stream would allow for a better maintainence budget. Whenever I play here, I come knowing that I will be a minority at this course...so why do the majority of who plays here have to play six hour rounds? But I guess that is a rhetorical question.

Tee off 1:30 pm on Tuesday, March 30th. Got off the 18th around 7:30 pm. Greens are in great conditions. You can't ask for any better then this ! Fairways are fair. Shot a 43 off the back tee box on the front nine. The back nine was brutal. Overall, my friend and I, we both enjoyed very much. We can't wait to go back and break 90th.

Played last Sunday, March 14. The first tee was running about 20 mins late by mid-morning, but what a beautiful day to be out playing golf! The course is in fine shape. Though some of the tee boxes aren't level, none showed signs of excessive wear and tear. The fairways had consistently good cover and, as usual, the rough is trimmed to the point that it's sometimes hard to tell if you're inside or outside the edge of the fairway -- which can happen fairly often on the back where slanted fairways are more the norm than the exception. After drying out from the rainstorms of a few weeks ago, the greens have regained their speed and their deceptive twists and turns. My group left the 18th green shaking our heads after barely surviving a putting nightmare. Was surprised by the lack of ballmarks on the greens, it's always an unexpected pleasure to see public course players fixing their marks and being considerate of others! The only drawback was the pace of play. We finished our round in a near glacial 5.5 hours. If you have the time to spare, you should consider playing Los Verdes.

I WOULD GIVE THE TEES AND TRAPS A 8. GREAT COURSE WITH VIEWS OF THE OCEANS. YOU NEED TO GET OUT EARLY ON THIS COURSE OR EXPECT A 5+ ROUND. WAS REALY LOOKING FORWARD TO PLAY THIS COURSE AGAIN AFTER 2 YEARS BECAUSE OF THE DRIVE IT'S JUST A SHAME THAT WE PLAYED SO BAD!!!!!

All aeration is complete and on the mend. The greens will probably be back in good shape by mid Oct. Fairways are suspect at best, carts have been seen stalled all over the course, the driving range completely blows, slowest rounds in the west, crowded, and getting a weekend tee time means sleeping in your car.

Just a great all around golf experience.

Golf carts were in terrible shape. We had to have 2 carts exchanged which involved numerous calls to get it done and having to be pushed several holes around the course while waiting. Very distracting. Got our money back for the carts but took some begging. Probably managed by American Golf sums it up.
Fairways were being turned over so lots of workers out in the middle of the golf. Messed up fairways and dead batteries turned into a not so pleasant experience.

as i've stated plenty of times before, i have a severe distaste for "mountain" courses. for those of you unfamiliar with the term, it's basically one of those courses that is cleared land with some greens plopped down...no thought, no moving of land to make a fairway work, just stuck in where it fits in. maybe that was a cause of my extremely poor round, or maybe it's just that these courses don't suit my eye well. either way, i had an absolute blow up round here...the worst i've ever posted. if you get into ANY trouble out there, you are in jail. there is no safe play from the rough, which is usually just gnarly trees that hang really low. if you need some work on the sand game, this would be a place to drop a few balls and get crackin'. this facility is heavily played, and true to american golf company standards, looks fit and trim. the driving range is a joke, as it's concrete and the balls are horrid. the old addage of "the greens break toward the water" doesn't work here, because it's ON A PENINSULA! there is water all around you! a few stellar views, but not an enjoyable day for me...and from what i can gather, the pace i had of 5:15 was quick. yikes.

Had an early tee time at LV, the only way to play this course, and finished in just over 4 hrs. The course is maintaining fair to decent fairway conditions and the greens are still in great shape. Weekend tee times are still a night in the lot ... unless you got a bud working for Am Golf :) $33 to walk is a great deal.

Played August 5,2009. First time here and will come back. I can only hope, however, that I can finish the next round in under 6 hours. The slowest round I have ever played, but thanks to spectacular views of Pacific Ocean, Cataline, and perfect weather, I didn't mind being out there for 6 hours. I think an early tee time, if you can get one, would be better. Greens were a little hairy and bumpy in spots, but considering the amount of play they get, rolled pretty well and were faster than appearance would suggest. A couple of holes (9 and 13) are not quality holes, but the rest of the course is very interesting. Considering the location, view, condition and playability, maybe the best value anywhere. $37 to play mid week. Has a Torrey Pines feel to it in spots and ocean views on many holes. Very enjoyable, despite the excruciatingly slow play.
