First time I played here, and for a $25 walking fee on a Monday afternoon you can't beat this course. Ocean views all around, and some really beautiful views on the back nine. Course was in decent shape. A few of the greens looked like an army of golfers trampled on them and the footprints sunk into the green.

On the neg side - took 6 hours to complete - on a Monday afternoon. We started at 2pm and was the last 5some to complete play. I was told that the weekends are worse and I believe it. It's worth a play but be forewarned about the time it will take.

Played on Sunday, 8/1 with a late morning tee time as part of a tournament. We only teed off about 15 minutes after our scheduled tee time. Driving range was still closed. Signs were posted that the driving range was opening around 8/10. Just have to wait and see. It took us just under 6 hours to play 18 holes. Winds started to come up in the afternoon. Our golf cart didn't have any GPS.

The fairways and tee boxes were in decent shape. There were lots of bare spots and dirt spots here and there on the fairways. It's hard to keep the grass growing with the weather conditions for this time of year. Greens were in great shape with few ball marks here and there. Not used to the grainy greens here. Kept on guessing as to whether we were putting into/against the grain. Course is quite hilly. Like the ocean views from hole #2, #15 and #16. If the course wasn't so busy, we would have played here more often. You must bring your patience when you play here.

Yep, listen to cthuyen, this place is packed ANYDAY unless you get out early. And the marine layer has been brutal these past several weeks ... add some fog and drizzle and you get 5 hr. rounds with a 6:30 tee time! Just gets worse as the day goes on. The course is still recovering from punched fairways (and needs some water and sun) and is boardline 'dog track' in many areas. The greens, however, have recovered from June punching and are in very good condition.

Played today July 10th. Our tee time was around 2:30. Did tee off until 3:40. There were 4 separate groups waiting on the 1st tee box. After the 1st hole, there were at least two groups waiting on... Continue »

Played today July 10th. Our tee time was around 2:30. Did tee off until 3:40. There were 4 separate groups waiting on the 1st tee box. After the 1st hole, there were at least two groups waiting on each hole. We finished the front 9 (at) 6:45...3:15 hours later. We were halfway through 14 when it was too dark. On Saturday, don't even bother trying to play here. It's just frustrating. The beautiful ocean views were non-existent because of the deep marine layer. It even rained for 15 minutes today.

Don't come here unless it's a weekday. I won't be coming back for years.

Fairways punched this past week so lots o' plugs lying about to get your spikes nice and loaded up with mud. Played early Sunday (a must here on a W/E) in 4.5 hrs. Greens fantastic, hardly a flaw to be found, and with Poa Annua there are relatively no ball marks. Overcast but not foggy.

Two weeks later and things change at LV. Teed off at 7:20 (we had a 6:52am start) and played in 5 hours. Greens are still fuzzy from aeration ... give them 2 more weeks to get back in shape. Course... Continue »

Two weeks later and things change at LV. Teed off at 7:20 (we had a 6:52am start) and played in 5 hours. Greens are still fuzzy from aeration ... give them 2 more weeks to get back in shape. Course is a bit rough around the edges, lots of wire grass which has always been a problem here and getting worse, with fairways drying out and patchy rough. And the driving range is closed for renovation until August. Still a good value but very slow to play ... that will never change with 5-somes.

Side note: Almost got beaned on the 18th green by a guy playing hole 1 who was trying to hit 'over' us but bladed it. He tried to appologized but I had to wave him off ... I didn't need him in my wheel house at that point. My point: be aware of clueless clientele at LV.

Played Sunday morning: teed off at 7am, finished at 12:30. Greens are beautiful right now so, guess what, they're going to punch them next week. CALL AHEAD to find out the conditions, but the past aerations have been using the smaller holes and they only do half the green at a time. And, yes, try to get out early to avoid the 5.5 hr. round which is common up there.
