Played there in a tourney. Location is tremendous. Green fees very reasonable. Was told it would take 5 1/2 hrs. by others. They were wrong. It took 6 hrs.!! Run by L.A. county and by jerks with no sense of humor. Had a 5 some and we were told that one of our guys had to walk because of lack of carts. Oh brother. Golf course really fun. Front nine quirky, back nine just plain tough. Wind kicked up on back making it even tougher. Fun even with the long waits on tees.

Played July 4, a little before twilight. 9 holes in 3.5 hours. YIKES! Great weather, tough greens but OMG how slow. Waited on every shot. Greens in good shape. Running a little on the slow side but still quicker than most greens I have played lately. Rough is thick and spoungy. Fairways are very lush. Sand in bunkers playable, not hard packed. Still taking that long to just finish 9 holes come on. I felt like a sardine packed into an extremely busy course. Would have been easier to simply play Harbor, paid less and finished quicker.

I've played Los Verdes a handful of times this summer and each time I become more and more upset with the slow play. I'm new to the game so I have fairly high tolerance for bad players, but its become almost laughable at times with 3 or 4 groups being backed up on the front 9 par 3's. The course is actually in pretty decent condition and the views are absolutely gorgeous. The layout is a little tight on space, where lots of parallel holes lead to more than a few people hitting it onto opposite holes and having to play from the other fairway. At times can be dangerous (I was hit last week, and my brother was this week) because there are a lot of poor players who slice the ball into your fairway without even yelling fore. I'll continue to go back because of the cheap price and high enjoyment, but if you're impatient stay away from here.

This is my first time playing Los Verdes. For the price you can't beat it. The views are spectacular. The course was in good condition but most of the tee boxes needed attention. The pace is really slow particularly during the front nine;expect to wait since many fivesomes are let out and many are walking.

I gotta say, LV is in the best shape I've seen it in a long time. Greens are supurb and the fairways, although there's about 5 different types of grass (and weeds) growing, are in pretty good shape ... at least they're working on it. There's some serious crowning around some of the green aprons so be carefull to avoid them on your chip shots. The driving range makeover I hear is set for later this summer but as a LA County course, really, who knows. Played in 4 hours flat but teed off at 6:30am. Come on down ... but come early, unless you don't mind playing hit-n-wait.

Played 18 on 5/14 afternoon. A few fairways being aerated on the front. Looks and feels like the underside of a cheese grater. Don't know how long it takes for turf to recover from this treatment but in the grand scheme it's wasn't that big of a deal to me. The greens were great and the sky was clear...a good day.

Greens are back to normal, immaculate ... the best thing about this course. Fairways are iffy, bunkers are firm to fluffy, and tee boxes are a bit beat up. The worse is pace of play anytime after 8A... Continue »

Greens are back to normal, immaculate ... the best thing about this course. Fairways are iffy, bunkers are firm to fluffy, and tee boxes are a bit beat up. The worse is pace of play anytime after 8AM ... and getting a weekend start time. Driving range is in shambles but due for a face lift later this year, or next. AmGolf run county course.

Tee boxed were a little beat up, but the rest of the course was in great shape. The sand traps were in excellent shape which is very unusual for city courses. If you can get a reservation, this is a must play.
