1. Green fees are 115 but I had a coupon for buy one get one free. 58.50 not bad for 12:21 tee time
2. no marhalls on the course.
3. Green fee includes a token (30 balls) at the range
4. There is no rough on this course. it is dormant and patchy.
5. greens rolled well.
6. This was my first time playing this course and that made it difficult.
7. Coolers are on the cart. Saw the cart girl 4 times.
8. There is no gps on the carts. That is really odd to me for a place that wants to be a high end country club type feel. $115 green fee with no gps. These mountain courses with blind shots and lakes you cant see are the courses where a GPS is most needed.
9. 5 hour round because some hacks infront of us were playing from the blacks.

I am not sure if I would come back. Its pretty far from where I live and this course doesnt really give me very much opportunity to hit driver even from the black tees.

Course is in same condition as previous review. The only crit would be of the greens - they were slow, a bit bumpy and not tracking very well. Also thought they needed a bit of a trim. For anywhere else they would be good but they're not quite up to the usual standards expected here.

Course quiet for twilight rounds - you can really zip around in less than 3 hours for a rate in the 45-59 dollar range. It's really a great deal.

Played Valley today in the coldest, windiest conditions I have experienced - it's very tough from the tips and if you add in gusty winds then it is brutal at times.

Played Valley today in the coldest, windiest conditions I have experienced - it's very tough from the tips and if you add in gusty winds then it is brutal at times.

Course is really fine shape - tee boxes level and lush; fairways beautiful; dormant rough frames each fairway in a visually pleasing way; greens are smooth and true - just a tad slower than medium (maybe 8.5 on stimp).

The only downside are the fairway bunkers which are hard-packed mud - the greenside traps were nice and fluffy.

Literally saw two other singles on the whole course so could bomb it around in 2.20 hours. Customer service is great too.

Played the Valley course twice this week. Played 12/28 and New Years Eve morning and also got caught in the frost delay. First group did not go out until 9:00. Course did a great job in getting everyone out, we ended up getting out only an hour later than our planned 8:45 Tee-Time. Finished both rounds in under 4:30.

Greens were in great shape, outstanding considering the time of year and cold spell we have encountered. Typical excellent overall conditions at RR.

Played new year's eve early am and the temp was in the 20's - frost delay for 90+ mins, and when they let us out I thought they shouldn't have as the first 6 greens were all frozen solid like a pre-t-giving turkey. Like putting/chipping on plexiglass. So if you see burn marks on the surface you'll know why!

Otherwise, course was in great shape - tee boxes level and only one was beaten up (#11 par 3). Fairways lush, green and firm. Greens are close to immaculate and pretty firm and true considering all the rain.

Only downside was the rough (to be expected - thin and hardpan in places as it has gone dormant) and the sand which was very rough in the fairway traps and firmish and thin around the greens.

Only critique I would make is that for rounds costing somewhere either side of 100 bucks they should really have GPS on the carts - it's a hard enough course as it is.

Played on Thursday, 12/23/10 and after 8 days of rain and a serious downpour just a day before we played, this course has come through with flying colors. No standing water on the course. At least not in play. Cart path only of course. Not much of a problem here because the fairways are narrow. I just wish people would bring the sand bottle out with 'em or at least try to replace the divots. Fairway bunkers, typically not good here, were just okay. A couple had standing water or little sand at all. Greenside bunkers were raked and somewhat decent. Greens were medium fast. Pace of play was a little suspect at just about five hours. Got hit into on 12, sort of. Guy hits driver right at me but came up short. Ha! I wasn't going to duck. Just put up my arm. Not sure what those guys were thinking as we were hit and wait all day.

Played on a golfnow twilite rate of 45 bucks Friday afternoon. Started at 1.35 pm as a single and finished in 3.10 hours at 4.45 pm - can't beat that and that was with a fair amount of waiting on the back nine!

Course is in great shape - winter conditions - meaning that the over-seeded fairways and tee boxes are nice and green with lush, friendly lies, while the rough is all dormant. Actually kind of cool the way the sandy color of the rough frames the greenness of each hole.

Greens were terrific - probably top 5 I've putted on this year, after Moorpark and Rustic. Fast, smooth & true - it helps your game a lot (and puts confidence in your putter) to know that good putts will track and hold a true line. Only thing stopping these greens from being a perfect 10 was the occasional un-repaired mark or old marks yet to heal.

Can't beat the shot-making value and pace of play for the price, but it's a tough course especially in the wind (which is virtually all the time here). So bring your knockdown shot and be prepared to seriously adjust your yardages.

Back at the "Ranch" this past Tuesday and Saturday afternoon. Does it seem like I am the only one reviewing this course lately? Well, it is still cart path only due to recent rains and overseeding. The fairways are super lush and need daily mowing. Plenty of divots out there, probably because guys forget to bring the sand out there. That's what you get with cart path only. On the bright side, the widest part of any fairway might only be 45 yards, so it isn't a long walk. Greens roll fine but you can see the aerification holes. Not really bumpy at all though. I'd like to see this course cut away some of the natural areas and plant more grass. That would be way cool. Tees are settling in and getting a little unlevel in spots, but not a real problem yet. Decent pace of play on a crowded Saturday at about four and a half hours. Tuesday afternoon's pace was three and a half hours. Worth the discount green fees from their e-mail specials.

I always rate this course highly. For me, as a Santa Clarita Valley resident, afternoons can't be beat here. Customer service is great. As far as the course goes, right now, it is highly playable but some players are not fixing their ball marks on the greens. I rated the speed if the greens as fast, but it isn't lightning fast. They are smooth, despite the poa. Fairways are tops: lush, smooth, and lots of roll. Rough is not deep. Perfect lies everywhere, just don't get into the lateral areas. Tee boxes are lush. Afternoon wind seems to die down just before sunset. Fantastic views from 18 tee right at sundown!
