I played here on 8/21/14.

This is the Muni Course I grew up on:

1. Best Public Greens you can find anywhere. They run true and fast.
2. All Day rate. The green fees you pay mean you can play all day.
3. No gps or coolers on carts.
4. Really large hot dogs.
5. Drought has hit Nor Cal hard. Only times you see dead areas are in spots you aren't suppose to be...

1. Played 3/8/14 at 10:44 am.
2. Pace of play has always been good everytime I play here. Even on weekends.
3. Course was in good shape, rough was very very thick.
4. Greens were good but bumpy. I think they overwatered the greens as they would leave foot dents when walking.
5. They have local Craft Beer on tap and in bottles :).

With the wind blowing I think hole #16 is the most challenging hole in Southern California.

I played here on Presidents Day at 10:35am.

1. I used my LA Golf show coupon for $20 cart fee. Good price as they were charging holiday rate.
2. Tee to green the course is in good shape. I couldn't really complain about anything on the course.
3. Pace of Play. Holy moly. Ive played this course maybe 4 times in my life and everytime I play here it is the slowest round ever. Yesterdays round took 5:20. It was rather frustrating to watch. I honestly don't know what to do about it on this course. They have their tee sheet at 9 minutes apart per group so that on the better side for southern California but no matter what the course is slow. No marshalls on the course at all.

Played 7/7/12 at 8am.

They teed us off early at 7:40 am.
Good pace of play in the front finished in about 2 hours but the back slowed down and we finished in 4.5 hours or so.

Course conditions are good. Greens were good and held well. Putts didn't take many bumps etc. You get what you pay for here. You cant really beat their rates on weekends. Paid $51 on a saturday morning and they threw in a free golf glove.

Pace of play was good finished in just under 4.5 hours. Good amount of players on the course.

Course conditions are great. Fairways and rough were good. Only problem is the greens. too many ball marks on the greens. i fixed 6-12 per hole because people just dont fix their ball marks. can get distracting in your putting.

I played Black Friday and it was probably a mistake. This was my first time out at the course.

1. I arrive early and want to check in but they say I can't. They will call me. I have a 12pm tee time that I book on golfnow.com. 12 pm gives me exactly 5 hrs to finish before sunset. I come back in at 11:55am to check in and they say they are running late and will call me to check in accordingly. I say ok but I have a 12pm tee time and it is cutting close to see if I will be able to finish. The guy behind the desk rudely says that I am getting the twilight rate anyways and that doesn't guarantee me finishing. I say yes but I also agreed upon a contract with Golfnow.com that my tee time is at 12pm and if it is not at 12pm than thats your fault not mine.
2. We end up teeing off at 12:25pm
3. Greens were bumpy.
4. Did not finish the front nine till 3:30pm.
5. I kid you not we were sandwiched between a 5some, 5some, 2some (us), and 5some. Do not play this course on the weekends! Every group out is a 5some.
6. Me and my buddy say screw it and go to the North course front nine to try and finish as many holes as possible. We finish the front nine in 50 minutes!

I liked the layout and look of the front nine on North better. I would avoid this course unless you have a killer deal as I don't need rude attitude no matter how busy the course is.

This review is all you need to know about Links at Summerly for a while at least:
Played 6.25.11

1. Cart girl plenty of times
2. No coolers on Carts
3. You have to pay $1 for GPS. We used our groupgolfer.com certificates to play and the paper says includes GPS Cart but they still made us pay $1. I thought it was pretty ridculous. And its not $1 per cart its per person.
4. This course is probably the hardest course in Southern California right now. In more ways than one.
5. The course is HARD. I mean like a rock. The grass hurts your hands with big divots. Its very very dry.
6. The course is flooded along the sides of the course. So there is water where there shouldnt be water. This makes the course very difficult because there also is no rough. So if you go long it will catch the side slope and roll straight into water that shouldnt be there. Is that a penalty? No clue.
7. TIP: You have to club down like crazy. Two clubs at some points. I had 207 left and hit a 7 iron because the ball does not check it. It just flies once it hits the ground another 30 yards. Not even with a wedge will it check.
8. I really liked this course when I played it in December but it is just too darn hard right now. And I mean literally Hard. The ball rolls all kind of places not sure if its gonna roll out, check, good bounce, bad bounce etc.

While I didnt quite receive the VIP treatment the poster below received this course is always worth the green fee. I made a 2:20 tee time for 4/10/11 and the starter let me out at 1:00 saving me alot of time.

Fairways, teeboxes and rough were immaculate. very good conditions.
Greens were bumpy but late afternoon. Not really that many putts held their line that well. But very puttable.

My only qualm is the pace of play. I didnt finish 18 holes. I went home after 15 holes. We started at 1 pm. and I was standing in the middle of the fairway at #15 and it was 6 pm. That my friends is 5 hours to finish 15 holes. 3 groups ahead was the problem holding everyone back. Didnt see a marshall all day and that is too bad cause I noticed there was no body two groups ahead.

Played yesterday 3/14/11.

1. Green fees are 115 but I had a coupon for buy one get one free. 58.50 not bad for 12:21 tee time
2. no marhalls on the course.
3. Green fee includes a token (30 balls) at the range
4. There is no rough on this course. it is dormant and patchy.
5. greens rolled well.
6. This was my first time playing this course and that made it difficult.
7. Coolers are on the cart. Saw the cart girl 4 times.
8. There is no gps on the carts. That is really odd to me for a place that wants to be a high end country club type feel. $115 green fee with no gps. These mountain courses with blind shots and lakes you cant see are the courses where a GPS is most needed.
9. 5 hour round because some hacks infront of us were playing from the blacks.

I am not sure if I would come back. Its pretty far from where I live and this course doesnt really give me very much opportunity to hit driver even from the black tees.

Played 3/6/11.

1. The course is in really good shape. Rough is very minimal this time of year. Tee box was a lil shaggy. Fairways good. Greens were in excellent shape.
2. Bunkers were a little inconsistent. The ones I were in were hard as a rock.
3. I played at 12:30 on a sunday and I think this was the slowest round of my life. There was a Pepsi tour event that tee'd off before us by an hour or so but i didnt finish until 6:00pm. Yes, my friends, that is a 5.5 hr round.
4. Cart girl comes around plenty of times and are pretty good looking :).
5. 20-30 mph winds caught up to us on the back nine. Made things difficult. Also, once the sun hits those mountains, it gets cold quick! so bring a sweater or 3.

Played Hidden Valley based on the recommendations on Greenskeeper and I was not that impressed. I guess I expected more.

The Good

1. layout is challenging. It is important to play the appropriate tee box for your abilities.

The Bad

1. When I played there were a lot of bees. Tons. I got stung by one on the left hand right after I hit my Hybrid shot. Not a good omen.
2. Range was nothing special.
3. This course is pretty tough because of the massive boulders in the middle of the fairways or right off the rough.
4. The GPS is a strange thing. Very small and hard to read but glad they had one.
5. The carts here suck! If you drive slightly off path they seem to be able to sense that you are not where you are suppose to be. For instance, we went right on a par 5 into the dirt. When looking for our ball the cart completely died and we had to push it and go in reverse before it would start again.

Overall, I find this course to be a poor man's Oak Quarry.
