Beautiful clubhouse and facilities. Carts with high quality GPS were the best I've ever seen. Now to the coarse. Played the afternoon of 10/17/10, after a drizzly morning. Course was damp as expected and the greens were slow. Very challenging front nine. Even more so on the back nine. Very narrow fairways on back nine. Hit straight or it's in the rattlesnake playground. Everyone here is so very customer friendly. Had a great time even though my score wasn't so good. Maybe that was due to too many beers watching football before tee time!

I've played this place a few times. It's been pretty good & I like it. The starter said "The course is in great shape." I thought "Great." Well...no. Right now this place is beat up. Over watering has turned much of the course into a sloppy mess. The greens are saturated as well & showing footprints. I fixed a least 3 to 4 pitch marks on every putt line I had. There are massive Kikuya patches in many fairways. Lots of GUR. If you pay the $87 rack rate to play here you will be seriously disappointed. We had a deal & paid $29 and that's what it was worth today. You don't need that much water Black Gold.

This course is really in their repair season. Beware. Most holes are cart path only...get ready to walk and guess your yardages. The greens are also full of marks and sand.

I'm sure the course will be impeccable in a few months..but for now, there are better places to play for the price. Make sure you save some time to have a 1.50 beer after the round on the patio...you'll witness par 5 in 2 disasters in the water....MULLIGAN!

Played at first light - course is in decent condition, Some of the tees boxes are being worked on. Fairway a bit thin but OK. Greens good, not great. Staff however was wonderful. Very pleasant and helpful. As expected, had a lot of maintainance on the front nine, which is distracting, but that's the price you pay to zip around in 2 hours.

8/1/10 - Got a great deal on Click4TeeTimes.com for a 10:30 slot (at) $70.00 that included a bucket of balls, Cart & Green fees! Nice practice range that you are hitting off of grass and the service was GREAT! Carts come with GPS, Ice Cooler and club/ball washer.
Now the course: I started off as a single and played 2balls for the 1st 5 holes before I caught up to anyone. No one was behind me until I made the turn on the 10th hole.
The course layout was very nice with some holes that you can really go after without getting into to much trouble. There are some fantastic views of Orange County as the course is nestled between some beautiful luxury homes! Most of the Tee Boxes you will be hitting from an elevation. Only Negative is that the majority of the Par 4's & 5's are cart path only. Some of the holes I see the justification as it appears as though new turf was curing, but I couldn't tell that on all of them. This was my first time playing here, so I'm not sure if this is always the case. The greens are fast and tend to slope towards the valley except on a couple holes that had pin placements that were impossible to make.
Cart Girl service was great and pass through at least twice on the front 9 and three times on the back nine!!
Pace of play was great and finished in 4hrs exactly! They cleaned the clubs and took them to my car. I would recommend coming back, especially if you can find the good deals.

We went off as a twosome and did not see a person until the 14th hole so we played at our own pace with no preasure from the course marshalls/starter. A tough but honest course - they were some of the toughest greens to read. Whoever made the decision to switch the fairways to kikiyu should rethink that choice before they ruin this course.

Excellent, fun, fair track - although the greens were slowish (unusual for here) but were running very pure and putts held their line beautifully.

Excellent, fun, fair track - although the greens were slowish (unusual for here) but were running very pure and putts held their line beautifully.

4 or 5 fairways (1,3 & 5 on the front) were undergoing serious repair (is that the dreaded kikuyu going in?) and where the kikuyu had established it was a lesser course for it. Shame, but for a discount rate this is a great test - tight off the tees and driver will do you no good on a lot of holes, sand was in great condition, greens nice to roll the ball on.

Give it a try.

I noticed a couple of hard or bare spots on fairways, but again, overall in nice shape. Bunkers and tee boxes good. This is one of my favorite courses in all of SoCal, and will continue to play again and again. Next month or two should have very good conditions. Great customer service and staff.
