Have to agree with the previous review, that Los Lagos in in the best condition I have seen it. A pleasure to play. It would be nice be some how they could maintain these conditions. Greens rolled really well and the fairways are well maintained and lush. In fact the entire course is just a joy to play.

Efficient check in with strict covid-19 restrictions enforced, but nice that masks are not required on the course. A little on the pricey side, but the course conditions somewhat make up for it.

Played on a Tuesday afternoon and course is in fantastic shape. Fairways the best I have ever seen out here, easily. Rough is thick and plentiful and will impact your game. Sand traps were in good ... Continue »

Played on a Tuesday afternoon and course is in fantastic shape. Fairways the best I have ever seen out here, easily. Rough is thick and plentiful and will impact your game. Sand traps were in good to great shape, even without the rakes. Lots of mowing going on and it needs it. The greens were a little soft but rolled fine, not super fast but nice. Tee boxes fluffy enough to try and cover up the fact that a lot of holes and not very flat lies exist on most of them but still as good as they have been. It only took 4 hours to play walking. Go play costa mesa now while you can finish a round in less than 6 hours.

I teed off at about 11:30 on Wednesday, the first day the course has been open since closing due to the pandemic. Only players with tee times allowed on the property. No practice facilities open. Masks required only in the clubhouse area. No food or beverage. Walking only. Flag sticks on greens. Restrooms on course are open.

The course was in GREAT shape. Lush and green all over. They had obviously maintained the course while it was closed. The fairways were a little long, but the rough was cut to a fair length. The bunkers were ok, considering. The greens were not as quick as usual, but I think they might have put a little extra water on them, thinking it was going to be hotter.

This is a great course to play after a layoff, as there is lots of room off the tee. Pace of play was around five hours, but that's pretty standard when you tee off late morning.

Teed off at 7:40 Sunday and finished in 4.5 hours. The course was better than I expected considering the heavy rains the previous Wednesday/Thursday. Carts had to stay in the rough due to soft conditions and the course does not have cart paths throughout the course. The greens were in very good condition. Putting speed was medium/fast and greens held shots. The fairways were good with nice coverage with a few thin spots. The rough was good with a few soft spots due to the rains. Rough length was medium and not to penal. The bunkers were good although a couple still had a little standing water in them. The two bunkers I was in played decent with plenty of sand and were a little wet. The tee boxes had good coverage although a little unlevel in spots. Overall the course was nice and green. Los Lagos is and enjoyable track with some rolling terrain. The staff was friendly.

Played here today teeing off about 10 minutes after our 8:38 time. I don't know why it was so busy today but it was. Waited on most shots and finished in 5 hours......ugh. Conditions were not as good as the last few times playing here. The course is still very green but definetly rough around the edges. The greens were real nice, ran smooth, and held shots well but everything else was a little wet and just a touch above a normal muni. We still liked the course and next time we will get out earlier before the crowds.

Played Saturday 8/10 with a 10:30 tee time. Got underway about 15 minutes behind schedule. Overall the course is in very good to great shape to what I typically expect here. Fairways were good to great, tee boxes good with some divot damage but the teeing grounds are so large it doesn't matter. Rough, patchy kikuyu and not too penalizing. Greens rolled well but had quite a few divots to take care of. POP was an expected slog at about 5hr 20mins. Saw the beverage cart 3-4 times. POP will always be tragic here during the busiest times but the course is in good shape and worth a visit if you can avoid the crowds.

Even though I had heard from many that slow play plagues this course, I decided to give it a try late on a Thursday afternoon. Boy, was everyone right about play being slow here. Right from the start my group was forced to wait 5-10 minutes on each tee box. By the time we got to the 8th hole, wait times extended to about 15 minutes as the groups were backed up ahead of us. By the time we got on the 13th hole, we were tired of waiting and decided to leave. It's a shame that this course is so slow because the course conditions were pretty good. Fairways, rough, and greens all were nice. Tee boxes also were level and full of decent grass. Bunkers throughout the course looked like they had ample amounts of sand. Because slow play is the primary aspect of golf that drives me crazy, I will not be back until the course figures out a way to speed up play.

Played here today because we had five. Had a 7:45 time and finished at 11:45 walking so pace was great. I've said it before but will say it again, the par three's here can be tough. Especially in the wind which we had today. The course never disappoints me for a public course not far from home. Conditions were very good throughout, not perfect but perfectly playable on all levels. The course is not super difficult but you still need to hit crisp shots to score well. Recommended for sure!

Teed off at 7am as a twosome and finished in 3.5 hours. Went off 15 minutes behind a fivesome thinking we would play through at some point. The fivesome finished in about 3:45.:) The greens were in very good condition. They rolled smooth with medium/fast speed and played slightly firm. Confirmed with the starter that the greens will be aerated next Monday the 29th. The fairways had good coverage for the most part but were a bit shaggy so balls did not run much. The rough was mostly good with some thin/bare spots. The bunkers had plenty of sand but were a bit on the wet side. The tee boxes were mostly level and in decent shape. Los Lagos is an enjoyable track. The course is mostly flat with a few holes having rolling terrain but is very walkable. The staff was very friendly.
