Teed off shortly before 8am and finished in 4 hours. The greens were the highlight. They rolled smooth with medium/fast speed and held shots. The fairways had a lot of good coverage but there are many areas throughout that are quit thin or bare. The rough is mostly good with some thin/bare spots and long enough to affect shots but not too penal. The two bunkers I was in were a little damp but in very playable condition. The tee boxes were fair to good. Some a little unlevel others a little thin of grass.

Check in at a table in the doorway to the pro shop. Wear a mask in common areas. Single rider carts available. The driving range is open. Practice putting and chipping areas are closed. The starter calls out the group on the tee. Always enjoy playing Eldo and the staff is friendly.

Played on Monday teeing off a little before 8am. The consolidated course diagram in the pro shop had a sign reading "coming in 2021" which prompted me to ask about the closure. An employee informed me that on Monday morning the staff was informed that the course consolidation would happen sometime in 2021. There is no set date. The staff is friendly.

The greens were in good conditions aside from some unrepaired ball marks and bird peckings. The greens rolled mostly smooth with medium/fast speed and held shots. The fairways have become much worse than when I last played the Players course a year ago. It seemed that half the holes had good coverage while the other half had large thin areas with a few bare spots. The rough was good with just enough height to impact shots. The bunkers were damp and a little compacted but playable (I was in two greenside bunkers). The tee boxes were a little unlevel with some thin spots.

Teed off about 8am finishing in 4 hours. First time playing the Lakes course and found it to be worth the 80 mile drive. Enjoyable layout with a nice variety of holes. Some holes are flat while others have some undulation. Walkable course with a couple of climbs to the next tee box. The greens have some undulation to them and ran with medium/fast speed. Downhill putts can get away if you don't pay attention. The greens were mostly smooth and held shots. The fairways were in good condition with some thin areas but overall had good coverage. The rough around the greens was good. The rough along the fairways was fair to good. Some areas are thin, bare, and patchy while others are good and not overly penal. The bunkers were in good shape and appeared to be raked regularly by staff ( I was in four). The tee boxes had decent coverage and were reasonably level.

The driving range and putting greens are open. Checking into the pro shop and starter was quick and the staff was very friendly. Masks required in common areas around the club house. Carts are single rider unless from same household or you drove to the course together. The cafe is closed but I did see the beverage and snack cart out on the course.

Teed off Monday shortly after 7am and finished in 3:40. Heavy Santa Ana winds made the day more challenging than normal. The greens had plenty of pines needles and other tree parts scattered about. Too much to brush the putting line clean. However, the greens did run medium/fast and held shots. The fairways had good coverage with a few brown and thin spots. The rough was mostly good with some thin/bare spots. The bunkers were a bit crusty and compacted but playable. The tee boxes are thin in spots and a bit chewed up on the par threes.

The cafe is open. The driving range and practice putting green are open. Face masks in common areas. Single rider carts unless riding with family member. Walk-ons are allowed for the waiting list. The staff was friendly.

Teed off at 8am and finished in 3:55. The greens rolled fairly smooth with medium/fast speed and held shots. The greens have recovered from aeration three weeks ago other than slight signs of holes around the outside edges of some of the greens. The fairways had mostly good coverage. However, there are some dry thin and even bare spots scattered about. The rough was mostly good with some thin/bare spots and not too penal. The tee boxes were fair to good. A few were thin of grass while the others were on the long side. Like most courses the tee boxes are mildly unlevel. The bunkers were a bit wet but playable (I was in 3 greenside).

The driving range is open but the putting and chipping greens are closed. The cafe is open. Do not know if inside dining is available but there was a fair amount of outside tables. Check in and pay is at a table at the entrance to the pro shop. Masks to be worn in all common areas. The staff was friendly.

Teed off at 6:50 on Monday finishing in 3:45. The greens were in great condition. They rolled smooth with medium/fast speed and held shots. So nice to putt on greens rolling faster than medium. The fairways had good coverage with some thin/brown areas. The rough was mostly good with some thin/bare spots. The rough was thick enough to affect shots but not too penal. The bunkers were very wet but playable. The tee boxes are fair to good. Some mild unlevelness and some were a bit chewed up.

The driving range is open. The ball machine accepts payment for balls. The practice putting green next to the starter shack is open for those playing golf. The cafe is open with added outdoor seating. Masks required in common areas. Single rider carts. Staff was friendly.

I had an enjoyable round Thursday morning with GK Gurus. Teed off at 8:25 and finished in 4 hours. The greens had some brown areas butt rolled good with medium slow speed. The fairways had mostly very good coverage with a few thin spots. The rough was in good condition and not too penal. The tee boxes were in good condition. The bunkers were well maintained and had plenty of sand.

The course has a nice design with plenty of water coming into play as well as fairway bunkers. The grass driving was nice and putting green was large. The carts had GPS, a rake for the bunkers, and fill bottles for divots. The food and beverage cart came around several times during the round. The club house is very nice with a pro shop with plenty of merchandise. All the staff I encountered were very friendly.

Teed off at 6:50 Monday and finished in 3:45. The greens will be aerated starting 9/15. The greens were in good condition rolling with medium speed. The fairways had good coverage and did not roll out much. The rough was mostly at a playable height with some very thick spots while other areas were a bit patchy. The bunkers were groomed but the sand was a bit compacted. The tee boxes were mostly fair due to mild unlevelness and the par 3 tee boxes were chewed up. I wish courses would sanitize sand bottles and put them back on the carts. Overall all the course was in decent muni condition.

The driving range is open. The chipping and putting greens are closed. Single rider carts. Check-in was outside of the pro shop adjacent to number 1 tee box. The staff was friendly.

Teed off at 7:20 finishing in 4:10. Would have been faster if not for the group ahead which was a par 5+ behind. The greens were in good condition. They rolled fairly smooth and held shots but were slow/medium in speed. The fairways had good coverage overall. The bermuda grass was a little brown in spots but maintained good lies. The rough was a mixed bag with good coverage in most areas but there were patchy bare spots throughout. Around the greens the rough was mostly good. The bunkers were groomed but very compacted. The tee boxes were fair because they are chewed up and a little bit unlevel in spots.

The chipping and putting greens are closed. The driving range is open. Wear masks in all common areas. Don't need to wear mask on the course. Easy check in at table in doorway to pro shop. Single rider carts until they run out. Enjoyable course with friendly staff.

Teed off at 8am finishing in 3:50. First time back to Mile Square since covid reopening. The greens were in good condition. They rolled smooth with medium speed and held shot. As previously noted the greens prior to covid ran a bit faster. The slower speeds make some of the down hill puts less stressful but I still prefer them to roll faster. The fairways had good coverage with a few thin spots. The rough was good and not too penal. There are some thin/bare spots along the fairways but very good around the greens. The tee boxes were fair to good mostly due to mild unlevelness. I found three greenside bunkers today. All three bunkers had adequate sand and were groomed aside from the footprints.

I have always enjoyed the Classic course. The gentleman in the proshop, as far as he knows, said the plans to have just one course by the end of the year is still going to happen. The putting green and short game area are closed. The driving range is open and you can purchase balls directly from the machine. The cafe is open for patio dining. The cafe has put several extra tables on the grass across from the patio to expand the outside dining. The staff was friendly.

Teed off Friday at 7:30 finishing in 4:10. The course is in overall good condition. The greens were rolling fairly smooth with medium+ speed and played a little firm. The fairways were a little furry so not a lot of roll on tee shots but they had good coverage with some brown spots. The rough was mostly good. There are a few wet spots in the rough where water tends to collect. The bunkers were a little firm but playable. The tee boxes are fair to good mostly due to mild unlevelness. Driving range was open but busy with fewer slots available. Putting green was closed. Always enjoy playing Eldo. Staff was friendly.

I always enjoy a round at Goose Creek. Teed off Tuesday at 7:50 and finished in just short of 4 hours. The course is in very good condition. The greens had been verticut so the green speed was medium but they rolled decent and played a little firm. The fairways had good coverage. The rough was good and at a playable height. The bunkers were good with plenty of sand and groomed. The tee boxes were good. The only real downside to the conditions were the unfilled divots due to the lack of sand bottles.

The SCGA Amateur Championships will be held at Goose August 17th - 20th (Monday-Thursday). Tee times may be hard to get if at all for those few days. Goose Creek has changed its single rider cart policy. Riders will be paired up in carts. For those who wish to ride single there will be and extra $10 charge. The staff was friendly.
