Generally play Telega twice a week. As many nearby courses the heat and humidity has taken its toll on the putting greens and Telega is no exception. Greens are in very very poor condition one would think they are putting on greens of a course that’s going out of business. Yes the greens are that bad your putting on dirt and dried mud. Will the greens come back? Probably yes they always do but when...... Unless you enjoy these type of putting surfaces you might want to play elsewhere for a while.

Played 8/3/18. Usually play this course twice a month. As usual the staff is great and friendly. Today they made sure the course was watered, some areas were oversaturated which made the ball hold in the fairways. The tee boxes were a little thick and I had to use longer tees to get the right ball height. I did notice that some of the greens especially in the back nine had damage either from not enough water or disease. There were some grounds under repair throughout the course. Hopefully they recover soon. One thing about this course is the refreshment cart is a hit or miss and there are no water coolers on the course. So load up with lots of water from the main snack bar.

I got out to play Talega for the first time today. Tee time 12:32, got off early, customer service was excellent on all levels. Temp was 85*, quite humid, and the wind was gusting over 20 at times. Fairly tough conditions, and I found the course layout difficult as well from the blue tees. Blind tee shots and first timers don't go together well, and a few par 3s are absolute beasts, one being well over 200 yards over water and into the wind (active brag: sandy par!).

Please see the previous review of course conditions, it is spot on. I really do need to stress the part about the greens though...they are practically unputtable.

Might need a few more trips out here once the greens come around. I'm not sure if I love it or hate it. Fun day with friends though.

Driving range closed on Tuesdays, so only chipping and putting available to warm up. Putting green was very slow but was consistent with what we found on the course.

Asked starter before we teed off if beverage cart was on course, and he said no, so we loaded up with what we needed, from snack bar, prior to heading out.

Tee boxes were a bit long in most cases, in need of a cut, but otherwise lush.

Fairways were excellent except for some grass clippings, and the par 5 11th which was being chopped up / aerated while we were on the tee box. Large holes and grass / dirt plugs along the entire fairway. All other fairways were very nice and produced very good lies. A few spots marked GUR.

As mentioned above, greens were agonizing slow. All were recently vericut, in some cases, in two directions which made a checkerboard of cuts and slowed putts even more. Very soft as well. Even after playing them all day, very difficult to get speed right. Given a the slow roll, not very true rolls at all. A few greens also had piles of grass clippings behind or adjacent.

Bunkers were mixed bag, a few very firm and others just right.

I enjoyed the layout, I thought there were a lot of interesting holes. Well bunkered, a few blind tee shots, but fair overall. A shame conditions were not up to spec, and if they improve the greens, would recommend. Could be that I just happened to hit the course on a particularly off day in terms of amount of maintenance going on.

Played Sunday 6/24 $55 online deal @ 12:48 as a foursome. POP under 4 hours, that's really good. Pretty much a mixed bag regarding the condition of the course. Tee boxes a little to lush, rough was way inconsistent, fairways provided perfect lies, fairway bunkers where like concrete, never seen grass growing out of bunker before, greens way to soft and spongy, bumby and slow. I struggled all day to get my putts to hole. Don't know why the greens were so soft. There are some good holes out there, one thing for sure you don't want to be spraying your driver out there, hazards everywhere. I'll think I'll stay away from Talega until they can somehow firm up those greens.

Played today 6/8/18. Course is in overall good condition. There are some sand traps that are under repair like the green side bunkers on hole #2. Greens were a med roll. Overall good round at POP of less than 4 hours. Staff always friendly.

Conditions were good yesterday 6/2/18. Greens were a little on the slower side but roll was true. Some fairways are in need of aeration I think.

Played 5/7. Greens are plush with punch marks still visible. Greens were extreamly slow and new to be cut. Appears that course was designed to allow players to bounce their shots up onto the greens but grass area in front of greens are often wet and soft so ball does not release up onto the putting serface. Better maintainance is required in those areas
For better concistancy. Overall I would rate the course a good value and nice place to play.
