Played here today in a charity tournament along with GK'ers bsparks1961, tobster and Eaglee in a shotgun scramble format. We had a lot of fun and a couple of us walked away with some nice raffle prizes. As expected, the tournament format was slow and we finished in just under 5 hours. The course was in good condition overall. Not showing as pretty as it probably can, especially on a cloudy day, but the playability was very good. The tee boxes were great. The fairways were excellent. The rough was inconsistent with kind of a patchy look because of multiple grasses growing in. We had to play from one greenside bunker and it was nice. The greens were exceptional—receptive to approach shots and rolling quick and smooth on putts. Most putts here played a lot straighter than they looked, so we were overplaying the breaks all day. This is a pretty good private club course that reminded me at times of the La Costa Champions/North course. It didn't blow me away, but the layout was plenty challenging and interesting enough. The first half of the front nine favors a left-to-right ball off the tee, but then after that it definitely favors a right-to-left ball flight. I enjoyed the course overall, but it's not one I'll probably make too much effort to play again now that it's been checked off my to-do list.
