Really like the course layout and amenities. Only "clinker" is warm up area next to the great
chipping green. Need for a couple more water stations.
Neat to play on bermuda grasses! Greens roll true!

Played Escena today with Shebylo, Shazza, and 1RudeDog, tee time was for 9:00 a.m. but got off about 20 minutes early. I have said it before and I will keep saying it,GKers are far and away the greatest guys and gals to golf with.
Course conditions were nearly perfect. Fairways were lush and green, with only slight and sporadic area of thin lies. Rough is not long here 1-3 inches and fair to recover from.
Greens were in great shape, med to firm and held shots well, rolling about a 9.5 according to the pro shop staff. No damage from un-repaired ball marks or any signs of wear on the greens, perfect except for a few short missed putts.
Tee boxes here are level with only minor divot damage where you would expect to find it. Green, lush and firm. Fairways here provide ample landing areas for both the short,mid and long hitters, but watch for the cunning strategic placed bunkers. Sand quality is excellent with a very good depth maybe 4-5 inches in most. Fairway bunkers are medium to large in length and depth providing a good chance at recovery. Green side bunkers are deep good sized and a good provide a very good test at recovery.
Customer service here is top notch and very helpful. Prices at the grill or at the turn are fair and provide some good food, breakfast on this day. Water on the course is plentiful as are the wash room facilities on course. I would highly recommend this course and will certainly put it in my courses rotation for next season.

Firstly the greens are immaculate bermuda; firm and true. Presentation was first class with lush conditions throughout. Service very attentive and professional.
For the deal in the summer, with these conditions, it is very easy to overlook the heat.
Simply a good day and highly recommended.
No GPS carts, hitting nets only, lots of water stations and restrooms. Good grill.

Played 7/23/13 Great experience all the way around. Steal at $25 Golf Now 9:25. Fast round at 3hrs 20min. Pretty wide open. First time playing here and came recommended from a buddy that lives in Indio. Loved it. First class place from the entrance on. Recently renovated with a modern retro feel of the 50's the style of the property is awesome. Friendly staff, great restaurant and polished facilities. Only taking times up till 11am for off season. I ended up playing here 2x as it was so enjoyable. Mostly generous fairways however its succeptable to wind so not all are easy reaches. Nice tee boxes, perfect fairways, bunkers pretty good, greens nice but on the slow side. Just an approachable and fun track with a beautiful and stylish vibe.

Pros- Layout was ok. For this time of year the course was in a condition that was completely in line with green fee. Course is totally fun, playable, and had a good overall feel.
Cons- Some unlevel tee boxes. Got this tee time offline and the put us out between 2 tourneys. Sand was a bit spotty and some heavy burnout areas in the fairways.
Overall- I will play again if I need a course to round out a great weekend in the desert.

Had a tee time of 1:00, but went off a few minutes early. Great design, really enjoyed it. Fairways were lush for the most part, with some bare spots. Rough was pretty much the same, very playable. Bunkers are nice and fluffy too. Greens are medium/medium slow, and hold shots very well. Didn't see a cart girl, but there are PLENTY of water stops (a huge help-be sure to keep a wet towel too, works great).

Great customer service and food, had an excellent Prime Rib dip before I teed off.

Enjoyed a nice mid morning round with GKers Shazza, Shebylo and RGM2525 on a golf now hot deal for $25. Played the Orange tees (6615/71.1/124) in around 4 hours. The greens were medium slow to slow, bumpy to occasionally smooth. They were about 1/2 bermuda and still about 1/2 winter rye @ this point. The sand was nicely maintained with fluffy, white sand. Tees were generally well maintained. Both the fairways & rough were decent to good, you usually had good lies. After playing the lush courses around Portland recently, this was a big change, especially the greens. I would rate this course's conditions as about average for the desert this time of year. It was a pretty straight forward layout, not a great course, but certainty not a bad one either. Customer service was a plus. Only negative was that their warm up area is hitting into nets, but they provide free warm-up balls. They did have a nice chipping green. My 1st time playing here, I will play here again. If you get a deal, it's well worth playing.

Overall good conditions, scattered bare patches in fairways, and as brucelai described below, slow greens, bumpy at times but holding well. Summertime desert golf; that simply is the way it goes. Had the pleasure of teeing it up with fellow GKers Shazza, Nickesquire1, and RGM2525, thanks folks. Nice service, staff, and plenty of drinks cart passes. Layout is resort style with lots of room and sensible rough length to keep pace at around 4 hours. Good maintenance evident throughout with nice manicuring tees to greens. Our 'Hot Deal' $25 for 10:28 tee. Good facility and be aware no practice range, but chipping and putting greens only. Check the wind forecast prior to leaving. Played 7:12am 5/4/13. Excellent course with good prices. Weather was in the 90s with light/moderate winds. Conditions are very good overall but the greens were a bit slow. Probably from being a touch too long. Should have made for easier putting, but having played PGA West the day before threw my distance control out of whack. I kept trying to make the adjustment but my body wouldn't listen. Starter was friendly and knowledgeable. Bag service was great.

Some minor complaints: No real driving range, just a net. No gps in the cart. Didn't see the cart girl that day.

None of that should stop you from coming out here though. Course plays nicely, just pick the right tee box for your ability and you'll have fun.
