Rode the Blues (5827/67.3/120) in slightly over 4H mid morning using Forelinx. Matched up with Nicki, Bruce and John. Around 70, clear and fairly calm. The tees were lush and well maintained. A few could use some divot love. The fairways were lush and nice to play from. The rough was super lush but not overly tall. Good POP rough. The traps were just okay. Ranging from fluffy sand to standing water from over watering. The small greens were firm, smooth and putted medium fast speed. The customer service was very good all around. No Drink cart out today. No GPS on the basic carts that are new. This course would be easy to walk, very flat and most tees are close to the last green. The course looks great after over seeding. Fun shorter course, recommended.

Rode the Blues (5827/67.3/120) in 3H, 40M mid morning using Forelinx. Matched up with Bill, O.J. and Mike, members of the men's club and great guys to play with. Mid 70's, clear and calm, excellent golf weather. The course is lush and green after over seeding. The tees were lush and well maintained. Only complaint was that almost all the blues were forward of the markers, and this is already a short course. The fairways were lush and good to play from. The rough was lush but not tall. Good POP rough. The traps were well maintained with fluffy sand. Nice to play from. The small greens were smooth and putted medium fast speed. Firm, even well struck irons shots usually released. The customer service was excellent from everyone. No Drink cart out today. No GPS on the basic carts that are new. This course would be easy to walk, very flat and most tees are close to the last green. Other than #17, a risk reward par 5 that runs around a lake, the layout will not wow you. Many holes would remind you of holes on dozens of other vintage Palm Springs courses. fun course, recommended.

Rode the Blues (5827/67.3/120) as a single in 2H, 45M mid day using Forelinx. The weather was clear, breezy and in the low 100's. Enjoyable shorter layout usually in good condition. They are just a few days from closing for fall over seeding, and the course is currently marginally playable. Basically hard pan from tee to green, the greens were at best average. Good customer service as always. Recommended AFTER fall over seeding.

Rode the Blues (5827/67.3/120) as a single in 2H, 30M early morning using Forelinx. The weather was mid 90's and clear with a little breeze. The tees are usually good here. Not today. Several were closed for over seeding and several others should have been closed for over seeding. The other dozen were flat with most divots already maintained. The Bermuda fairways were mostly lush and were good to play from. The mostly Bermuda rough was lush but overly tall. Good POP rough. The traps were well maintained with fluffy sand. Nice to play from. The Bermuda greens were smooth and putted medium speed. Firm, even well struck irons shots usually released. These greens are also on the small side, so approach shots barely offline can easily miss the greens. The customer service, as always here, was excellent from everyone. No Drink cart out today. No GPS on the basic carts. This course would be easy to walk, very flat and most tees are close to the last green. Rode the Blues (5827/67.3/120) in less than 3H mid day as a single. Clear and a little breezy in the mid 90's. The course is still in good condition but showing signs of the heat. The tees are mostly semi lush with some brown spots and decently maintained for divots. The fairways are lush and nice to play from. The rough is lush and not long, just long enough to make longer clubs a chancy play. The traps are usually okay here, but not today. I was in five, and they were all consistently the same bad trifecta... not raked, crusty and thin. The greens were firm, even well struck irons shots released. Forget ball marks. They putted medium speed and rolled nice. The customer service was excellent from everyone. No drink cart, but plenty of water stations. Other than during the hot season, this course would be easy to walk, shorter, flat and most tees are close to the last green. No GPS on carts. Woodhaven is fairly short and scoreable if you are straight, especially off the tee. Definitely not a grip it/rip it type course, there are many fairly tight to tight holes. A fun shorter course that would be a good choice for seniors and golfers that would like to play a less demanding course in good condition that doesn't require forced carries or have penal rough. OB on both sides the length of the hole is a common theme on this layout. Recommended.

Played the Blues (5827/67.3/120) with Harold, Carol & Hal in slightly more than 4H using Forelinx. The weather was around 90, sunny with a little breeze. Woodhaven is an traditional desert layout surrounded on all 4 sides by city streets in a rectangular shape. The front and the back branch off in opposite directions so that on the front side, OB left is the street, while on the back, OB right is the street. Houses or condo's line the other side of almost every hole, so OB is down both sides on almost every hole. Many holes are fairly tight, if you can avoid penalty strokes, the course is relatively short and scoreable. The tees were semi lush and well maintained. Relatively flat with most divots already maintained. The fairways was lush and play very nice. Mowed close with few fairway divots not already filled in. The rough was lush, fairly short and not penal. Good POP rough. Most of the traps were well maintained with fluffy sand. Nice to play from. However, a couple had standing water from sprinkler runoff. These greens are on the small side, so approach shots barely offline can easily miss the greens and leave awkward chips. They were smooth and putted medium speed. Firm, even well struck irons shots released and barely left a ballmark. The customer service was excellent from everyone, especially at check-in. They always have the prepaid receipt printed out and ready to go... in stark contrast to many other courses I play where it is a hassle and they are trying to charge you at check-in for a prepaid round. Drink cart out making the rounds. This course is an excellent option for seniors and golfers that do not desire forced carries and penal rough. This course would be easy to walk, very flat and most tees are close to the last green. Other than #17, a risk reward par 5 that runs around a lake, the layout will not wow you. Many holes would remind you of holes on dozens of other vintage Palm Springs courses. However, the playing conditions are above average to excellent and there are some fun holes here. Recommended.

Played the Blues (5827/67.3/120) with Kathy & Ralph in 4 1/2H, which is WAY too long for this course. Clear and a little breezy in the 70's, excellent golf weather. Woodhaven is a fun course that would be an excellent choice for seniors and golfers that would like to play a less demanding, shorter course in very good condition that doesn't require forced carries or have penal rough. OB on both sides the length of the hole is a common theme on this layout. The course is fairly short and scoreable if you are straight, especially off the tee. Definitely not a grip it/rip it type course, there are many fairly tight to tight holes. The tees are lush but a little longer than I prefer. They were decently maintained for divots. The over seeded fairways are lush and mowed close. Excellent to play from. Wish the tees were mowed lower and the fairways higher here! This is some of the best rough I have encountered this golf season. Lush and not long, just long enough to make longer clubs a chancy play. The traps had decent sand and were decently maintained. The greens were very firm, even well struck irons shots usually released. They are very smooth and putted medium fast speed. They slope gently from back to front and only a few have tiers. Not alot of break on these greens, These greens are only about 1/2 the size of the greens on many courses I play. So you can expect many chips shots to tight pin locations @ Woodhaven. The customer service was excellent from everyone. No drink cart, but plenty of water stations. Other than during the hot season, this course would be easy to walk, shorter, flat and most tees are close to the last green. No GPS on carts. Recommended.

Played the Blues (5827/67.3/120) in 4H, 40M with 3 very nice snowbirds. Normally, the POP is excellent here. NOT Today! They had a tournament this AM and were running 25 minutes behind on their tee sheet (very rare here, almost always on time) and had 4some after 4 some stacked up. The weather was clear, calm and in the 80's. The tees were lush, well maintained with few unrepaired divots. The fairways are lush and play firm with a decent amount of roll. Few unrepaired divots. The rough was lush and mowed down, good to play out of. The traps were nicely maintained with good quality sand. The smallish, firm greens mostly slope gently from back to front, not alot of break on these greens. They putted medium fast and were mostly smooth. Numerous greens were thin around the edges. Few lost ball areas within the course boundaries, but many holes on this layout are fairly tight with OB on both sides. Shorter course, but with penalties lurking left and right of nearly every hole, you have to thread the needle and avoid penalty strokes to score. The customer service was excellent as always here. Drink cart out making the rounds. Excellent course for seniors and golfers that would like to play a shorter course that doesn't have forced carries or penal rough. Not a great or overly demanding layout, but there are some fun holes here. Not a destination course, but recommended.

Played the Blues (5827/67.3/120) 3H, 45M with Don/Bill, 2 snowbirds from Minneapolis. The weather was overcast, calm & around 65. The tees were mostly well maintained, lush with few unrepaired divots. The fairways are mowed close & play firm with a decent amount of roll. Few unrepaired divots, they play well but are thin in a few spots even with the over seeding. The rough was lush and mowed down close, good to play out of. The traps were decent with good quality sand. The smallish, firm greens putted medium fast and were mostly smooth. Most slope gently from back to front, not alot of break on these greens. Numerous greens were thin around the edges. Few lost ball areas within the course boundaries and most tees being close to the last green all contribute to a good POP here.
