Played Woodhaven last week and was amazed how well they have kept the course up even to the point of brand new range balls. Not a big fan of the sometimes narrow fairways but with nice green grass everywhere it widens up some. Greens were in great shape and putted nice, sand was mostly very playable and fairways were very good. Not a long course so a few more chances for birdie on the short 4's and 5's. Couple of risk reward holes over or around water. In the past I would not recommend this course but now I felt it was worth the fair.

Stopped for a quick, first-time ever round at Woodhaven after concluding some work and before heading back home to LA. Was short on time so a short, regulation course seemed to fit the bill. Woodhaven is one of those property-first oriented tracks with the first part of both nines making a square around the perimeter of the residences, and the second parts on the interior. Not a lot of mystery as to what's happening at Woodhaven, but it's in nice condition and the service is fantastic. I called just ahead of arriving to see if they could accommodate me as a single and they were terrific. They even got me the twilight pricing and other discounts so huge props to the staff there, including the cart staff who were all wonderfully pleasant and hard-working. As for the course conditions, very nice indeed. The fairways actually look a lot more lush than they play, but every lie was quite good. A little bit on the thin side and requiring precise contact, but good nonetheless. Rough was great and the tee boxes (played from the blue tees) were in good shape as well. Bunkers were a little heavy and wet so difficult to play from. Greens were in very good shape, running around 10.5 and holding shots and lines well. This is not a course that's going to 'wow' you in typical Palm Springs fashion, and it's not going to make you sweat as it tops out around 5800 yards I think, but it's a fun afternoon in a pinch and the staff is so wonderful that it deserves a bit of your business.

Rode the Blues (5827/67.4/119) in 4H, 20M twilight using Forelinx. Matched up with Rich and Stacy, very nice couple to play with. Mid 70's, clear and calm, pristine golfing weather. Shorter old school tight desert layout, par 70 with two par 5's and four par 4's. Alot of OB and water comes into play on holes 5,6,17 and 18. You see alot of seniors playing here because there are few forced carries. Over seeding much more lush today than the last few times I played here. Over seeded tees were lush and well maintained with few unfixed divots. Over seeded fairways were lush and nice to play from. Over seeded rough was lush and thick. Nice to chip from, the ball often sat up. Sand traps were mostly well maintained with decent quality sand. Small over seeded greens putted medium fast and were mostly firm. They rolled okay, but far too many ball marks. Complimentary range balls on an all grass range that tops out at about 220 yards. Nice practice chipping area. Drink cart around numerous times. No GPS on the basic carts. This course would be easy to walk, very flat and most tees are close to the last green. Reasonably priced grill onsite. Fun course, the staff is always very accomodating. Recommended.

Typical old school, tight desert layout set in a rectanglar piece of land bordered by streets. Water comes into play on holes 5,6,17 and 18, but only hole 6 has a forced carry over water. Most holes have OB on both sides. Perhaps because their overseeding came in thinner than I remember from previous years, they had really been watering the course. A course that usually plays firm could have been played lift, clean and place today. Over seeded tees were lush and well maintained with few unfixed divots. Over seeded fairways were mostly lush and nice to play from, but little roll today. Several soggy spots. Over seeded rough was lush and thick. Nice to chip from, the ball often sat up. Sand traps were mostly well maintained, but I noticed several with standing water. Small over seeded greens putted smooth, medium fast and were firm. They rolled decently, but perhaps not as well as usual here. Drink cart around numerous times. No GPS on the basic carts. Complimentary range balls on an all grass range that tops out at about 220 yards. This course would be easy to walk, very flat and most tees are close to the last green. Reasonably priced grill onsite. Fun course, the staff is always very friendly here. Recommended.

Tough to find balls unless you were on top of them. Nice to chip from, the ball often sat up. Sand traps were decently maintained but a little thin. The over seeded tees were lush and maintained long with few unfixed divots. The over seeded fairways were lush and nice to play from. The over seeded rough was lush and thick. Tough to find balls unless you were on top of them. Nice to chip from, the ball usually sat up. The sand traps were well maintained but the ones I was in could have used more sand. The small greens putted medium slow speed and were firm. They should be good in a few weeks, still mowed high after over seeding. This course would be easy to walk, very flat and most tees are close to the last green. Typical old school desert layout laid out in a rectangle. No Drink cart today. No GPS on the basic carts. Played Woodhaven CC early morning on 7/9/19. Given the greens had been aerated several days ago, they were very slow. That is the only real negative. The pro shop kindly informed me of this before I paid up. The course is an older layout with plenty of mature trees lining the well conditioned fairways. Fairways were lush and green. Rough was also lush, thicker, yet very playable. Greens were slow, but still rolled true - just hit the putt about a third harder than normal. Very soon though, that won't be a problem. For the price, this course is one of the best deals going out in the desert. Some other courses are browning out now. But here... Plenty of green, plenty of shade. Staff is very helpful and professional. Had a great time playing with a gentleman named Chris who recently relocated here from Maui. Hope to play it again soon.

The tees were lush and maintained long with few unfixed divots. The fairways were mostly lush and good to play from. The rough was lush and thick even if not tall. Good POP rough and nice to chip from. The traps were well maintained with thick sand. A few had sprinkler runoff challenges. The small greens putted medium fast speed and were firm. A couple had some bad patches around the perimerter. The customer service is always excellent here. No Drink cart today. No GPS on the basic carts that are nice. Rasonably priced grill onsite. Complimentary range balls on an all grass range that tops out at about 220 yards. Fun course, the staff is very friendly and I frequently get matched up with nice seniors to play with. Recommended.

The weather was around 80, clear and calm, almost perfect golf weather. The tees were lush and well maintained with few unfixed divots. The fairways were mostly lush and good to play from. The rough was lush and thick, but not overly penal. The traps were well maintained with thick sand. The small greens were firm/smooth and putted medium fast speed. This course would be easy to walk, very flat and most tees are close to the last green. Shorter, tight, average layout. Many holes will remind you of holes on dozens of other vintage Palm Springs courses. Fun course, the customer service was excellent as always here. Drink cart out making the rounds. No GPS on the basic carts that are nice. Reasonably priced grill onsite. Complimentary range balls on an all grass range that tops out at about 220 yards. Recommended.
