Played on 8/24 on the afternoon. I had a great twilight rate.
The course is in the same conditions it was two weeks ago, as I wrote on my previous review.
From my previous visit new tee boxes on #17 are now open.
Pace of play a little over 4h 30m. It was pretty busy but always a great experience playing Eagle Glen.

Played on 8/10 on a really really hot day.
Great layout with a collection of beautiful and challenging holes, above all the finishing Par 5 18th.
Conditions are generally good considering the heat of the period, with some work-in-progress areas on fairways and tee boxes. New tees on holes #2 and #9 and a in a few weeks a new tee box complex on the par 3 #17 is going to be completed.
Golf carts are equipped with GPS and customer service is great.
Practice area is huge and perfect to warm up before your round.
Pace of play for a friday afternoon was great. 4 hours playing on a foursome and having another foursome in front of us.
As soon as the course will be back to have pristine conditions (and they really care about it) it will be one of the greatest deals and greatest courses on the Inland Empire.

Played in a tourney sunday. There's still plenty of maintenance ongoing in the fairways, and they've added to that by re-building a few tee boxes too.

Some fairways are nice and lush - several (like #3, 7, 12, 14, 15) had a lot of marked GUR. One of them (#3) had a lot of re-sodding being done right in the layup landing area. Rough is still marked for expansion but is mainly non-existent except around the greens where it is juicy in spots.

#2 the back tee and #9 the back and middle tees are being completely leveled and re-seeded. Not sure if they plan to do others too - just FYI.

Greens were still fairly slow and somewhat bumpy. They had been worked on some of them at least with some kind of slit cut in the last ten days I would estimate. Most were close to healed.

Glad they are doing all this work and it will be nice when they new grasses take - but for now it's definitely a work in progress in places.

Conditions are better than in previous times I've been there....the only drawback...they're like any other course, we played as part of a 50 player tourny on a Friday, supposed to go at 9:00am....but they must have crammed half dozen groups in front of us and we didn't tee off til 9:30...and then it was slow as mud....took 5 1/2 hours, and it wasn't us....we waited on every hole for the groups in front of us.

Played two rounds 7/16/12. 6 - 6.5 is fairly accurate. Nice views and challenging course. Tee boxes are fairly level. Some fairways have MANY GURs. Greens are soft and not bumpy. Drainage is an issue in some areas. Very few poorly repaired ball marks. Pace is good in the morning. Finished solo in under 3 hours and just over 4 hours as a foursome.

I think depending on where you typically play, you might find the conditions here either above or below expectations. If you are used to well-groomed IE courses (Goose) then it is definitely not close. But if you play at a city muni then this may be a nice upgrade.

On the "Goose" comment, there is a lot of maintenance going on here right now - so it will be improving. That's the positive. Also positive is that the course is still quite playable in spite of it. But all the work definitely shows, and it's not entirely cosmetic. For instance, they appear to have punched a few fairways (they were doing #3 on one side - both rough and fairway - as I played). There is a lot of GUR in both the fairways and the rough, though it is all marked. Also, they are planning to grow the rough in tighter on most holes which will ultimately frame each hole nicely and stop the ball from running through into trouble, but it will put more of a premium on accuracy (at the moment, most rough is non-existent to spotty and clumpy in places. The only lush rough is around some of the greens). While I look forward to this new look, the rough will not likely grow in as they want it until cooler weather returns.

On the back nine, they are working on a few of the fairway bunkers and word is they will continue to do this throughout. So some of the fairway sand is fluffier than it has been, instead of the hard-packed mud they had in most of them. Also good is the re-sodding going on around some of the back nine fairway traps - not only does it frame them better, but it will bring them more into play (some of them were so firm that lower shots just skeeted right throw them). Positive as this is, it's a process.

So that's my take on the "work-in-progress".

I think the fairways are in good summer condition mainly. Some burnt and hard pan areas here and there, but mainly fuller lies where good strikes produce good spin. I have alluded to the fairways/traps above - the tees are generally good except the par threes which are pretty mangled and somewhat uneven for your stance.

Normally, the greens have been the standout here - not today. They were top-dressed with sand fairly recently. In addition, they are quite slow for this course and bumpy, in the main. Result is they don't track that well at the moment.

Pace was slow at 5 hours 15 - it's one of those courses where even a steady stream of golfers like today tend to get bottled up at the same spots. It starts out slow then opens up after hole 5, only to bottle-neck again after the turn for a few holes. The flat holes on the back play quicker then the course goes back into the mountain and tends to slow down on the finish. Not much you can do as it appears to just be a result of the design.

So all in all, I look forward to seeing the results of all this work, but the course has a ways to go yet to be in fine shape.

Here I was ready to REALLY enjoy my day and only was able to enjoy it. They had sanded all the greens, I was in 3 bunkers and 2 of them were full of water, the other was just muddy. The whole course seemed really wet. Oh well, better than being at work. Have a good 4th.

Played Eagle Glenn on Sunday 6/24. Golf Shop staff, Starter/Marshall and cart service were great. The pace of play was over 5 and 1/2 hours or almost 6 hours. The GPS had us 58 minutes behind. Today was unusually busy or not enough marshall to speed up the plays? Had to wait extremely long time at 3-4 holes (some par 3 and par 4). The course condition was great from tee to green. Thank God, Cart service came 4-5 times (It was a long hot day!!(. Hopefully next time, would not take more than 4 and 1/2 hours to play a round.
