played here 2/20 president's day. teed off little after after our actual tee time of 8:30. pace of play was not too bad (little over 4 1/2). i definitely have seen better condition at this course but another nice enjoyable day at eagle glen. may be the bad economy or just a seasonality thing but it just seems like a common theme for most courses. greens rolled pretty fast which kills your putting if you just played a slow green the round before. fairways, roughs, and sand traps were not bad but there were some uneven tee boxes. i'm usually not that picky but it's bad when i have to stand behind and try to look for a good flat and even area that i can tee off.
overall, another solid enjoyable round here.

Played today (singles awareness day) with my buddy on a great deal for golf now. We first showed up there was a foreign group of 6 trying to go out 45 mins early but it did not matter we tee'd off on time and only had to wait on the first hole so that's great. The tee boxes where a little worn so its time to move the boxes. the fairways where great and the greens where smooth. They where also rocket fast and firm making it hard to spin so be care full a approach can roll quite a bit. Overall the course was in great condition for it being the middle of winter.

Played on super bowl sunday with an early tee time. After reading some past reviews, I've come to the conclusion that there is some bias.If they were playing say Cresta Verde, a fair priced coarse they would drag it through the mud but since its Eagle Glen its only winter conditions.The fairways are just crap.When our group plays a real budget coarse we play improve your lie even if it takes a 10 foot walk,cause you still have to make the shot.We should have played that way at Eagle Glen.I will only play there at a very discounted price.My 2 cents

I got a 12:40 tee time on Sunday afternoon through Golfnow.com for $27 which I thought was a great deal, now that we have daylight until 5 to 5:30 pm. The course ran on time which helped also. In general, I would rate the over all course condition to be fair to good. Teeing grounds were in good shape, fairways were dormant but certainly not bare, greens were in good rolling shape with exception of few holes where there were some spotty places - maybe the coots have dined on them. One thing I have to comment is their customer service. Our cart start to act up around 12 th hole, so I decided to call the club house to let them know that our cart is running out of juice as we teed off on 14th hole - this was at around 4:30. Before I could hit my second shot from the 14th fairway, there was an attendant with a new cart - I call that a GREAT service and other courses should learn from that. There were a lot of people playing that afternoon, and the pace was not the most ideal, but we still got 16 holes in - it was getting too cold anyways, and I enjoyed the golf. It's scenic and well layed out with plenty of places to get in trouble, but if I wanted flat and boring golf, I wouldn't have been there in the first place.

Played Christmas eve in shotgun format. Pace was perfect with only one group out per hole except on two holes made for a nice 4 hour round as a foursome. Course conditions haven't really changed much throughout all of 2011 except fairways are a bit better than they were. Greens were slower and bumpier than usual but nothing to severe or punishing. I landed in two bunkers that were decent, a little thin but no where near hardpan. Par 3 tee boxes were pretty beat up. The two guys me a my friend played with brought the fun down quite a bit with some anger issues and just way too tense. We ignored them for the most part after a couple holes of them getting too upset. I know we can't always get paired up with who we want but at least playing with them make me appreciate the good partners even more. Overall still a fun course layout, course conditions were definitely playable and the clubhouse is top notch.

Again, only main issue was pace of play - front nine was a total disaster taking almost 3 hours.

Every course has it's bottleneck, so why not do something about it? Here, it's on hole 5 (par 5) where everyone waits for the green to clear for their second, hoping to hit the 230 yard shot of their life - few of them pull it off. I don't know if management read this stuff but my policy ( make the Marshall earn his keep!) would be to mandate a layup there ( heck, scores would undoubtedly improve!) to keep things moving. When our group got to 5 tee there re 6 groups on that hole. Yes, 6. One on the green, another in the fairway ( waiting aforementioned hero shot that none pulled off) and another on the tee. Then 3 more waiting. By the time we had left the green the wait was down to one as everyone agreed to layup! Excellent idea EG GM! Seriously, save yourself the gas on the Marshall cart.....

Otherwise, the warmer weather is bringing the fairways out of dormancy and lies are generally decent to good throughout. The resodded areas have taken a bit more but still give you different lies. Rough ranges from non-existent to gnarly dormant bermuda that catches the hozel. And clumpy green stuff that the ball likes to nestle against. Tees decent except par threes which were chewed up. Sand I did not visit.

The greens which are usually the best part of play here were strangely slow. You had to rap the ball to get it to the hole even on downhill putts. They appear to have been sanded/dressed recently and that didn't help. Plus with all the ball-mark damage (fixed about 5 or 6 per hole) they were bumpy too and did not track well.

Finished in the total dark at 5.30 for about a 5 hour round.

Only complaint would be the pace of play. Why have a Marshall if he could care less when he sees the four in front 2 plus holes out of position on both the front and back nine? Just give the man his free golf and bypass the part where he "patrols" the course.

Other than that it was a tough day to score given the windy conditions. Both par 5's on the back nine were total brutes (one needed driver/ 3 wood/ hybrid just to get to the green). winter conditions throughout with a fair amount of gur or resodded areas in both the fairways and rough. Greens were the best part although not as fast as normal for here. Sand was good, tees good except for on the par threes which were pretty beat up.

I would rate most of the course fair at best - mainly 5 or 6/10, with the exception of the greens which are at 8.

Fairways and rough are generally dormant and thinnish. Rough is a grab bag of lies from tight and hard-packed, to gnarly, dormant bermuda thatch and occasional green sprouty growths that the ball has an annoying habit of rolling up against!. Tee boxes were fair throughout, a bit lumpy in places - some of the tees on the front nine were well beat up (along with #17 on the back).

Sand was inconsistent, ranging from hard-packed or gravelly in the fairways to firm and thin in some of the greenside bunkers, while others had been filled with very granular, powdery stuff (almost to overflowing in places) which was pretty hard to make an explosion shot from and produced zero spin.

Greens were the best part - mainly smooth with decent speed and relatively free of ball-marks.

Course is going backwards. Don't know what grass they are using in the rough but it reminds me of old El Rancho Verde. The grass grows in big clumps and if the ball gets in front of a clump you can't get your club on the ball. Now the rough around the greens is a different story, why they have it 5" or better I have no clue. Takes 5 min or more to find your ball if you ever do. Now the restaurant, hey guys, get the girl some help. Noon, 12 tables full and they have 1 girl taking the orders, tending bar, and cleaning the tables. Management, get a permanent bartender. Oh yeah, cart path only for a while due to the heavy rain damage that they received on Sunday. Heavy rain???
