Most fairways are dormant or semi-dormant and on the firm side but generally still fairly playable.

Rough is mainly non-existent with occasional clumps of gnarly, dead bermuda. Both rough and fairway have some marked GURS throughout.

Tees have been re-seeded and are mainly lush except for typical dings on the par three teeing areas.

Sand I visited in both greenside and fairway capacities and each were well-stocked and fluffy. This part and the tees were the best conditioned areas of the course.

Normally the most notable part of EG, the greens were dicey at best. Although firm-ish, they were fairly slow and moderately bumpy throughout. Most greens have noticeable areas of hex-plug repairs. Although many of these are around the fringes of the putting surface, some are directly in play in the center of the greens (like #12). Also, along with the exception of the recent punching greens 14 & 2 as those were dying off, several greens appeared stressed in areas. This may be related to the hex-plug work. There was no general maintenance aeration of the greens this fall.

It is a good track but quite below standard at the moment.

Played Eagle Glen as a twosome on 12/12 at 7am (Chilly AM, no wind). Its been over a year since I last played here. Wasn't sure what to expect. It was a decent round with good company. Was paired with a single and still finished in under 4hrs.
Service: No bag help in the parking lot. Front desk was great. Had a gift certificate that expired at the end of the year. Stimulation was a round M-Th after 10am, but then made an exception and honored it.
Tee boxes: Very inconsistent. Some were in horrible shape, while others were perfect. Because of the morning dew, some of the chewed up tee boxes were difficult to get good footing.
Fairway: No where near being lush, but not in terrible condition. Not a terrible amount of divots. Level in most places. I would say way better than the last time I played here.
Rough: Not long, but the ball does sit down in it.
Sand: For the most part pretty decent. I was in a really soft bunker and I was also in a pretty hard one. But once again, in better shape than the last time I played.
Greens: The best part of the course. Aside from #2 (they punched it out 12/5), they were all green and rolled fairly well. Some faster than others. No a lot of unrepaired divots.

All in all, this course is in way better shape than when I played it last. Its a beautiful track and hopefully they continue to take care of it.

played 12/5. got out as a single, first out, rate is very competitive for area, they are trying to get this course back into shape; tees a little long, trying to regrow some of them, fairways a little thin, but very playable, rough some areas bumpy and thick, but, for most of course, rough is non-existent, did not get into any bunkers, so, and the greens putted nicely, a few were being worked on and regrown in some areas, #2 was being aerated, but, overall, greens were in good shape, their range is one of the best in area, did get some new balls in, so that was nice, short game area is one of best in area; give it a try, as a senior, well worth the price...CGG...

Played 11/22, had to write a review after seeing what the last player said. Course is not in poor shape. It has seen better conditions though. Fairways were not completely dormant, and even still it plays like redhawks fairways play when dormant, the ball sits well, just as playable as always. Rough is non-existent, basically just more fairway. The greens were good, very fast. Layout is great, pace of play wasn't good, close to 5 hours but for the price its a good deal. Don't be discouraged to play here right now its still a good value and course.

Greens were being punched with small holes and then rolled 3 times so they are quick. Fairways still coming out of overseeding but lots of roll. Was in 3 bunkers and all had sand. 3 for 3 in sand saves. Used only one ball for the round. Had a tee time for 4 of us at 7:30 and teed off at 7:30 and at 11 we were sitting down for lunch. Under 3 1/2 hr round. Don't know why the previous reviewer would want to have a fivesome, not good. Will be back again.

Played Eagle Glen on a hot sunny Sunday afternoon with only light breezes, 10/28/12, with GKer addictedtugolf. My first time back here in about 7 years. There have been a slew of posts on GK on this course in the last couple weeks, and they are generally OK but a mixed bag. After our round, I feel the same way. Much OK but some things not right.

Our tee time as 1:50PM and we could see a couple groups waiting on the first tee. Range balls were extra; the chipping area was closed; the putting green was also closed - taken over for construction of a goofy golf putting course for a Chamber of Commerce event the next day, so practice areas were limited. Starter was unfriendly. Teed off 20 minutes late and the waiting started – horribly slow pace all day. Saw a marshal drive off the course as we were waiting on the first tee – that was the last marshal we saw all day. Some of this can be attributed to our being a twosome behind several foursomes, but we waited on every shot, sometimes for 10-15 minutes on par-3 tees. Lots of opportunities for lost balls in the canyons and ESA on the front nine kills the overall pace. We wound up finishing 15 holes in 4.5 hours when it got too dark to see.

Greens were very dry and firm - medium fast with most putts breaking down the canyon toward the freeway; there were a few unrepaired ballmarks on most greens. Sand was generally in good shape; but there were many areas where players had not raked traps, despite plenty of rakes available close by. Fairways were thin and firm but we had generally good lies; the rough ranged from bare areas to fluffy/patchy grass up to 2 inches deep; it is easy to stray into the red-staked hazards and ESA alongside many holes; there are many forced carries, especially on the slopy front nine that plays into the hills and through arroyos and canyons.

Greens 14 and 15 showed evidence of recent punching and were softer and slower than others, and bumpy (esp. 14). The back tees on 17 are under complete renovation and closed, so the markers are far forward. There are lots of areas marked GUR and many areas of recent tee and fairway resodding evident. We saw cart girl twice, the last time on #7, then she was off (4PM). Ran out of divot mix – no refills available – there were many many unfilled divots in the fairways.

On front nine up along the hills, strange proliferation of flies everywhere, buzzing around your head and eyes while hitting! Near sundown, came across 6 deer grazing next to the 12th tee – they weren’t bothered by the passing golfers.

Overall an OK experience, despite the frustration of the pace. Conditions were pretty good, we got an online price of $39 including cart with a good GPS. The course could use some additional TLC, better marshaling, more focused customer service, and more care by players to take care of the course. Recommended if you get a good rate and can be patient with the pace of play.

I saw a post for "MEET UP" @ Eagle Glen by DConnally,a course I have never played but had been to the clubhouse on different occasions a few years ago. The view from inside the Clubhouse @ the time was pretty spectacular to see.

Played: Sunday 1:50 tee time
Group: Twosome (sandwiched behind a 4 ball and a 3 ball behind us)
We thought the starter "JIM" would pair us up with the 3 ball (5 some).

Time: 4 3/4 hrs TOOK 3 hrs to play just the front 9 holes! Played 15 holes before #16,#17,#18 were in total darkness, could have used GLOW balls!

Cust Service: Fair. When I checked in to pay,I waited some time before paying,was told Dconnally still needed to pay? Duh! he paid and had a receipt to show it when he arrived ahead of me. Practice time wasted? 15+ mins.

Practice Range: Putting Green was CLOSED for an event the following day! All kinds of games & hazards were being set up. So there goes anytime spent to get a feel for speed of the greens. Grass driving range, beat up, tough to find actual grass.
Small bucket range balls $5.00, Taylormade yellow practice balls.

Since the putting green was closed, I saved 5-7 balls to go and practice chip. I'm walking over to the PRACTICE CHIPPING area, someone yells out Sir that it's closed. I sarcastically responded "Both the Putting green & Practice chip green are closed, I HOPE the course is OPEN?"

It turns out it was OPEN, full of golfers! 9 Holes took 3 hours. We had on every tee box a 4 some waiting for the fairway/greens to clear with OUR 2 ball and the 3 ball all waiting on each and every hole on the Front 9.

Why? The "PLAYER A($)($)itance Marshal goes home by 2pm! I saw him pass by when we tee'd off on number one. At the time thinking he was going to survey the back nine holes....It's QUITTING time! You guys are on your own, the damage has been done..

Bottom line: Cust Svc gets a "FAIR". Btw, the cart girl came by once, she was busy taking care of all the golfers and did advise us we probably won't see her again. She said every hole has golfers on it when we saw her on hole #6.

Layout: Reminds me of playing the Champions Retreat before the play-ability changes not too far away. It's very challenging, the carts do have GPS screen units but if your like me, having a yardage book sometimes is better. Definitely helps to play this course a few times.

GREENS: Super firm! I was amazed my Srixon Z-stars were actually able to hold wedge shots but longer irons actually would run off the green. Average ball marks not being repaired but players are doing a better job of fixing correctly.Only saw a few with the roots destroyed (rookies). Some greens were a little softer, only a few greens are in recovery mode for being aerated. Some bumpiness, but still playable.

Pace/Speed/Stimpmeter? I'm tempted to get my hands on an actual Stimpmeter, I felt the greens were no faster than an "7", slow to medium NOTHING faster as someone posted.

FAIRWAYS: It's over seed time of the year but below average right now. Divots? We used both our bottles and never saw a refill station, we did our job! Patchwork in some locations. Rough? really non-existent & bare in spots.

One hole looked like there was an actual CRIME SCENE taking place! Lots areas marked "GUR".

BUNKERS: Almost perfect the few times I was in them, soft sand but not fluffy soft. Usual footprints too. Yes, there was a rake just a few inches away.

#17th Par 3 is getting a tee box makeover, so we were moved to the down tee box in the dark! Would have been nice to see what they are doing? It was coned off like a CAL-Trans freeway project!

HOLE #2: NEEDS DESPERATELY A TALLER FLAG STICK AND IT"S NOT BECAUSE I'M SHORT. The hole is all uphill and with the flag stick on the back tier, impossible to see from the 150 yard marker. Unfortunately,my tee shot made the ledge in the fairway then slowly rolled backwards off the slope back down the hill.

One other note of worthiness: There was a Wedding taking place inside the clubhouse. Who's F-N idea is it to have a Newly Married couple drive around the golf course and take pictures when there are ERRANT tee shots that can happen anytime on the back nine? JUST my .02 cents worth.

I'll be back but NOT on a weekend...

Played yesterday at 7.55 am with brother otonitoni. Paired up with nice father son twosome. The course is in fair shape. Marshall was spraying white paint on gur areas on a lot of holes. Fairways were average and rough was not very high. Sand was average and tee boxes were unlevel and lots of divot damage. They would benefit from moving the tees around. 17 tee box is under repair. Greens were running at 10. Cart girls came by often, but were not soliciting drinks. If u want us to buy drinks...at least make the effort to come say hello. Great practice area and clubhouse.
