A nice course with many challenges, but too expensive for what you get. Played 10/26/03, with course smoky and hazy from all the SoCal wildfires. No GPS, no club cleaner or ballwasher, and very little water available on the course, for a high end green fee. Course makes good use of foothill/canyon terrain in variety of holes, especially on the front nine. Many forced carries, and hole number 9 was shoehorned into an area too small for the type of hole envisioned, and is basically unfair unless you can hit it 260 yards dead straight in a severe crosswind along the top of a hogback ridge. Recently aerated, so less than desirable condition in some fairway areas, but greens were generally firm and fast – don’t be above the hole on the front side! Slow play that you find at almost any course now – group in front of us appeared to be well behind, but didn’t see a marshall on the back side at all. Played with a 50% off coupon – wouldn’t go back, otherwise. You can get more value elsewhere.
